La Tavola Calda Hotel

When I arrived to check into this hotel I had to park on the back street and walk 10 minutes to find out that the hotel was shut ! Causing me to find alternate accommodation at a nearby hotel (the longshoot) and having to pay there again. Could you please advise me of how to claim my money back for this booking please Regards, Scott miles

Just an awful hotel. One cold bright light in the room made it feel more like a cell than a room. Bathroom ceiling black with mould. Window that was broken and wouldn't shut. No reasonable parking. People banging through and shouting until after midnight. I am shocked they can charge for this, and gutted I paid before staying. The place needs closing down.

There's no on site parking. The place is a complete dump. Seems the bar and restaurant underneath have long since been closed and they only do rooms. Its a bodge job from start to finish.

NOT A HOTEL!!! Not a pleasant place to be. An effort is being made but no attention to detail. Kettle filthy with a repulsive smell. This was replaced. No daily housekeeping, however, bin emptied daily.

Better to forget quickly as possible! The person meet me was so surprised as me. With NO ENGLISH, but bengal or some Asian language he try to help ;) There was too dark to see all dirties on a corridors, but have a picture on USED PAMPERS, left ON A TABLE in the “restaurant”. The towel on a bed was left WET, same as the cushions, the bed linen’s was not changed, and the small radiator was not enough to keep that small room even worm. Black and yellow moulds all around “wet room” and window, tea can not changed. In the morning all my body hurts, but only in the morning is possible to see all the tragedy around. And there is not option for refund on the beginning. I know only one more Helloween-horror-like “hotel” like this, also Indian, but most important is who gives them that stars and whom suits that “comfort “!?

Terrible there was nobody there and no phone reception I had text them to get a number for a key in a box on the wall.when we opened the door it was filthy and smelt damp.The room was grubby and had holes in plasterboard walls .I went outside to ring them to tell them that the room was not up to standard but there was nothing they could do so I asked for a refund and booked in to somewhere else and the picture on the website is from the previous owner and it looks nothing like that now.

The room was clean and had all the facilities you need. The staff are friendly and helpful. Overall good value for money and I would stay there again.

It’s was disgusting to be honest. Booked for 12 nights. Managed 1. Took the loss and paid for another hotel that was a lot cleaner. Emailed the hotel and hotel.com no answers. Never use again.

The whole place looks like it going to fall down the bathroom that i had the floor was rotted and sinking no central heating just a electric heater very cold unwelcoming and you have the same door key for your room and the down stairs door to getbin and out i would not stay there again.and even the cutains was frayed at the bottom to be honest it was not a hotel it was like staying in a H.M.O house of multi occupancy where the council put single homeless people it should be condemned.

This is legitimately a crack den. Getting in my room i noticed a hole punched in the wall and no tv...... Its gets much worse, i noticed what looked like a small brown soap in the hole so looked at it closer. Upon looking closer an animal popped down from the top of the hole and flew back up. Still unsure what animal, too big for a mouse, too small for a rat. I realised that small brown soap was actually rodant poison, meaning they are aware they have rodents in the hole and are still putting guests in the room. Asked to change rooms immediately, next room still filthy but did have a TV and no wildlife as far as I found out... to be fair i did hardly sleep and kept the light on thinking i could feel things in the bed from that point

The heating didn't work and I couldn't plug the heater in to the mains, it was cold in the room, also there wasn't anyone on site I could speak to I had to go through the clever to speak to the manager. Need someone on site. I was put up on top floor I've got physical health issues which didn't help and no one around to speak to. Communication not good from staff.

Very loud occupants and an extremey loud child who was allowed to scream and cry for very long periods

Seeing the place was ‘open’ for check-in from Noon, I arrived at 3pm to be greeted by locked doors. I rang the tel no listed on the door, but that was ‘unobtainable’. The 2nd no. obtained from their website was answered and was told someone would be there in 5 minutes. Eventually, after 15ins I rang back, just as someone arrived. I checked in, got my key and returned later that evening. Getting in was no problem and using a code I found on a corridor door, I managed to log in to the Wi-Fi, which was OK and bedded down (although there was no bedside lamp provided). In the morning there appeared to be no spoon for my coffee, so I ended up using the sachet as a makeshift spoon to stir in the milk. I tried logging back into the Wi-Fi, but there was no signal (perhaps switched off in the morning ?) so I put the coffee on the bedside cupboard and lay back……bad move, because the bed was on castors and my bed shot across the room due to the lino floor ! The OK shower had no shower gel or shampoo – although I did have my own – and the only hairdryer I could find was a large fan in a cupboard. A bit OTT, I thought ! On the plus side, the towels were excellent. I left the key in the room door and exited as there was no one around, even at 9.30 am. Despite the Italian name, this is now an Indian restaurant and a shadow of its probable former heritage and I will not be back.

Never came and 'opened' up. Left on a busy COLD road phoning people who barely spoke well, shall not go there. That does not bother me. Never got in. Got cut off twice. The coldest day of the year and I'd travelled miles for a concert. THANK GOODNESS Chase Inn had a room left. I am trusting I have not been charged for this nightmare, or further action will be taken.

Was told I had to be out of the room earlier than the booking time and one of the staff came banging on my door while still asleep to “remind me” that I needed to be out on time

Well would be a lot better if hotel was still operating and not closed for good. Instead was left trying to get somewhere nearby at 8 o'clock at night .

I spoke to the Landord about his future plans. It seemed like he has the right ideas. Currently being refurbished. But has great potential. All the best…

The property inside was ok but the surrounding area felt very unsafe
