Heritage Inn La Mesa

EXTREMELY noisy place and the entrance was difficult. Only one way in off the I-8 WB and if you miss it you must find a way back on to the 8. Lots of vagrants on the property making it a little scary. Constant highway noise, room not really clean and limited nearby dining. Pool and hot tub dirty and not working.

The property was kept very clean. We always saw staff walking about cleaning all common areas during our week stay. Plus when the light bulb went out in our bathroom once notified someone from maintenance was there to change it within 15 minutes. The mini fridge is a decent size and kept stuff frozen on the top shelf. The only draw back was a microwave in the laundry room for everyone to share.

Broken furniture, not clean. The hot tub was not working. I'm not going back.

Everything was excellent, except the Jacuzzi was out of service. I was really looking forward to getting in it. That was one of reasons I chose the Heritage. The Jacuzzi & the price was reasonable. I hope they have it fixed before our next stay.

Entrance is obscure and difficult to find. We were late checking in and tried to call and email but got no response. When we finally arrived at 10pm, there was only outdoor check in. Our room had a dryer fan going full blast on the toilet and it was wrapped in the shower curtain. There was no bottled water, coffee maker or hair dryer in the room. The refrigerator was turned off and had defrosted. I used towels to dry the refrigerator and turned it on. Thankfully, it did cool down. I believe that the room should not have been put into service.

I Definitely liked the pool the room was clean and the lications of the place. However the bathtub was damaged with cracks there was no microwave nether hairdryer. I didn't like the fact that the place wanted to charge more just for allowing me to check in one hour earlier.

There were dogs around. Burn Holes were in comforter. Broken door handle on bathroom. Dents in tub side. Shaky elevator. Marijuana smell everywhere. Broken /smashed cars in parking lot. Questional people hanging around "smoking". Wish i had taken photos

Convenient location for my family and business in La Mesa. Nice pool and hot tub and good laundry accommodations too. Lots of great shopping and services nearby as well.

It had a pool , after drive 7 hrs in 98 degree I wanted to swim. It was closed for 2 days. Limited outlets for devices. Difficulty with wifi then when they gave us a different room there was no water coming out of the shower faucet. At that point we had no choice but to leave. Really bad hotel.

They fussed at me for asking for extra towels. They clean rooms everyday, holes in nightstand and dresser , tv had cable so that was nice but bed was very uncomfortable; elevator is out of service, parking fills up fast so I suggest you get back to your room before sunset.

Room 307 was ABSOLUTELY DESGUSTING!!! It had roaches, the AC didnt work right and also had the vent cover missing... The carpet was saturated with pet urine. When I asked for a different room, they told me there wasnt any available. Meanwhile the parking lot had maybe 10 cars. The blackout curtain worked great though.

Room was infested with bed bugs and roaches and smelled like wet dog. It was absolutely disgusting. Never been to such a filthy hotel. I couldn’t even sleep. I requested a different room and they said i had an attitude. I didn’t. I was just in shock and disgust.

Roaches.

Room was not clean, had dead bug on the wall, smelled of smoke when I chose a non-smoking room, mini fridge was warm and not working, TV was not working, carpet was filthy, arm chair was stained and not clean, bathtub was not clean. There was a man in the laundry area stripping their clothes off, stairs were closed off on one side, the elevator had a man on a bike smoking in front of the elevator door blocking its use. Due to the conditions, I had to leave and did not stay the night.

Front desk was nice. Worked with us and gave us full refund as we asked. Rooms were disgusting. Cigarette burn holes in all the comforters. Flipped over the comforter and found bed bugs. Staff seemed like they didn’t care when I mentioned I found bed bugs.

There were bugs in the room and poop on the floor on the way up to our room. Disgusting, do not stay here.

Awful.... if i could give zero stars i would. Check in took FOREVER. The one guy working the desk was super sweet and doing the best he could with the line going out the door. The lady there helping him just up and left him there on his own. Took almost an hour to check in. Room was dirty and smelled awful. Dirt and hair in the bathtub. Carpet made our feet dirty. Then the AC leaked over night, saturating the entire carpet. My daughter slipped on it and fell and hurt her hip and knee. The place then smelled strongly of mildew. When telling the front desk, they couldn't have cared less. No apology, refused any reimbursement of any kind. Will never ever go here again.

Check in was extremely slow. The first room stunk like cat pee and couldn't be used. I had to change room. The taps at sink didnt work, barely dripped water. Outlets beside bed needed light switch on so i couldn't power sleep apnea machine or charge phone without beeping lights on. Carpet throughout room was sticky. The room was absolutely horrendous

Room was clean, shower was great and refrigerator was very cold. Tv worked great. Only thing that was so so was the beds were a little hard. No complaints with the cleanliness or noise. Would definitely stay there again!

This hotel is 50 yards from Interstate 8, a major east west thoroughfare, so the noise is significant. The room was clean but had old mismatched furniture and mostly non-functional electrical outlets. Bring your own extension cords. Despite these obvious problems, the place had a down to earth vibe and is nearby many fast food and other restaurants. Also, being freeway close is convenient for transportation by car.

Everything in the room was older than me and the thin walls/badly closed door made it feel like I was sleeping under an overpass.

TV didn’t work. There are no plugs near headboard to charge/use devices. Only plug is where TV is ( no cable) and bathroom. Walls are thin. Could hear people next to and above.

1. Very difficult to find the entrance. My WAZE phone gps took me right by the entrance.. which looks like you are heading straight into a freeway off ramp... because... well you kinda are! You have stop and make sure no vehicles exiting the freeway are coming (at like 60 MPH) and then cross. 2. My key card did not work well. I would to put it in 5 or 6 times to get it to work. Had it re-programmed twice but no help. 3. Both outlets on either side of the bed are switched with the main switch at the door which also operates the main overhead light. I have a CPAP machine which needs power all night. So the only way to use these outlets is to leave the light on at night. Grrrrr. I had to run my cord across the room to another outlet creating a tripping hazard at night. Lucky I had a long enough cord. Other than that.... pretty okay place for the money and location.

The hotel is right next to the freeway, so it’s a bit loud outside. This wasn’t really a problem. They charged a $2 / night electricity surcharge—this was a bit deceptive, but not a huge deal, The temperature of the shower was not consistent. It varied from cold to scalding and back again over the course of a few minutes. Adjusting the temperature did not help. The beds were not great, but that was expected. Housekeeping was consistent. My kids enjoyed the pool. The hot tub was not hot. Finally, I didn’t care for the bugs in the room or the mildew smell. I’ve stayed in worse places, but not recently. 2 stars may be generous

Parking limited and spaces very close to one another. All the furniture was Very nicked up and old. No bedside lights. Ceiling lights only controlled by switch at the door. I use a C-pap machine when I sleep and there were no wall plugs to plug it into. Airconditioning did not work, Slept with the window open. Noisy

Check in was fast and easy, staff were friendly. Room was very outdated but clean. Not many outlets in the room and no usb ports for charging. But it worked for exactly what we needed. The beds were comfortable and clean.

My door didn’t shut all the way from having been kicked in previously, I could see light and feel a breeze coming through the bottom half. There was nasty paper towel stuffed into the peephole. My shower had no water whatsoever the first time I went to use it. Cops showed up the first night about people verbally assaulting employees. People played music in the parking lot in the middle of the night so loud the second night that everyone there was woken up. I was yelled at by an employee for having yelled at the person in the parking lot that woke everyone up. I would give this place a negative review if I could. NEVER AGAIN

I’m not sure what process they use for checking people in, but I was 5th in like and it took 1 hour and 25 minutes to get to me and finish my check-in, all while waiting outside in the heat. Anywhere else would have taken 10 minutes. Extremely inconvenient as I had to rush getting ready in my room to get to a dinner reservation I had already made that night. The elevator was disgusting, some sort of dried up liquid saturated the floor, and graffiti all over the walls. The room (non-smoking) had some sort of lingering smell, almost like a heavy amount of chemicals trying to mask some other unpleasant scent. Markings and etchings riddled the furniture, hinges were hanging on by a thread when opening cabinets, toilet seat was barely hanging on with orange stains everywhere, and by the way the hotel is located directly off the MIDDLE of a freeway exit, very dangerous entrance/exit. The “owner” seems to reply to these, but it’s nearly always the same copy and pasted reply, convincing me nothing will actually change about this place. For nearly $200 for a single night, I at least expected decency, but it was anything but that, all starting with the abysmal checkin process. Oh yeah, no blow drier either.

The hotel staff was very friendly and the front desk Carol was extremely sweet, very nice and help about places to visit in the Lamesa area and restaurants and grossmont shopping center and everything is walking distance and front desk clerk was A + Awesome and non smoking room was very clean and comfy and when coming back to Lamesa visit family and friends I will be returning back to Heritage Hotel.

I booked a one night stay at this hotel on Expedia. Soon thereafter, I recieved a confirmation email. The indignant woman working at the front desk claimed she had “no record” of the reservation and proceeded to tell me that she had sold all of the rooms for that night. I then showed her my confirmation email. Then, after shivering in the cold for an hour while she “called Expedia” (she had a nice climate controlled lobby to call from and made me wait outside), she dropped the boom and told me that I wasn’t going to be able to stay there. It seems to me like she made an error…she sold my room to someone else, likely a “walk up” guest. I learned all of this right around midnight and I then had the privilege of scrambling to find a (very expensive) alternative hotel room for the night. To say this was unacceptable is an understatement, I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy, let alone a friend.

The staff is really nice and polite

Only stay here if you have too . The rooms aren’t the cleanest . The heater and air conditioner work when it wants . The refrigerator works every other day . Tv won’t come with remote and the staff is rude . Manager couldn’t find my extended reservation then tried to kick me out then he found it in the system.I explained this but the manager seemed like he didn’t care and when I got down stair it was magically found . I work thirds so coming at 1 pm is like 1 am for a normal person.Worst front desk staff ever . If you hate life so much go work somewhere else . Almost each person down stair has a stank attitude like they hate this place . 2/10 recommendations on this place . You got tweakers in the lobby checking in and wondering around the hotel . Some checking in and some just hanging out .

They have some of the rudest staff. Even the Manager acts like he doesn’t want to be there. I just don’t get people like this. Don’t stay here unless you need too

Convenient location and perfect for a cheap hotel!

This hotel is 50 yards from Interstate 8, a major east west thoroughfare, so the noise is significant. The room was clean but had old mismatched furniture and mostly non-functional electrical outlets. Bring your own extension cords. Despite these obvious problems, the place had a down to earth vibe and is nearby many fast food and other restaurants. Also, being freeway close is convenient for transportation by car.

They have a good places to shop within a short drive so if you forgot to pack something Walmart and Target are like 5 minutes away. Super quiet considering it’s next to the freeway. A short 15 minute Uber/Lyft ride to downtown SD.

First, the entrance is almost impossible to find. The rooms are old and dirty. The best thing you can do with this property is bulldoze the structure and start again.

Nice place and close to dining

Good value for your dollar. It's located close to everything. Only the entrance to it is a bit tricky, appears like a freeway entrance.

The fan in bathroom was very noisy, not enough coffee packets were provided. No lobby, no breakfast. Homeless camp across the street.

I loved the strong and good air conditioning, and the showerhead was strong for a nice shower, but the room was super small. The carpet had burns in it cigarette burns, and so did the bedspread. There were spiders all around the outside in the halls and in the parking lot on the trees $234 for Saturday night was outrageously expensive for this hotel. Only had coffee nothing else. The staff was friendly, but I paid over $600 just for a good nights sleep and good air-conditioning that’s a lot of money.

My room was clean. The hotel seemed full of guests. The guests were enjoying themselves. The coffee was good. The reception was good. There was a bit of rifraf going on outside on Thursday night. Other than that, everything was great.

The Coffee machine did not work.

I liked the friendly staff .I also liked the reasonable and affordable prices and the cleanliness and the coffee in the morning is a good idea

The hotel is right the highway. Extremely noisy. The place is older therefore more of a mildewy smell. The person at the front desk was friendly and kind. There is no Continental breakfast.thwy have coffee and a microwave. There are fridges in the room. If you turn off the light there is no power to the out lights in the room. The bed was comfortable and the rooms were clean.
