Fantastic boutique hotel close to everything in Zürich. I've stayed in many hotels in Zürich before and Hotel Helvetia is my favorite. It is super-clean, friendly, has a great location, has great design, and a homey feel. Access to a super gym with spa in the old town. Highly recommended!

So great and check in staff very efficient. Minor glitch with restaurant reservation, but they accommodated our party of four in a separate library room at the hotel.

The staff were very helpful, the property is located in a very walkable area, enjoyed the FREE coffee and water 24 hours a day. The property was clean and safe. Would stay here again while in Zurich.

Our attic apartment that is supposed to be luxurious was ordinary , definitely not luxurious . The furniture was dated and looked shabby . The bathroom was so small , only one person can get in at any one time , literally . There was a stove but no cookware . The only feature I liked was the beddings . In addition and unfortunately for us, there was an event one night on the roof above us , there was so much loud noise and goings on that we couldn't sleep . Also , the check in/reception area was difficult to find.

The property was easy to walk to from the train station, a very accessible and convenient location. The staff was exceptionally helpful, including the restaurant staff who accommodated us for dinner in a private dining area. What an incredible hotel!

Stay away from the Suite room on top floor as there is a roof deck where they throw private parties with noise past midnight. Not ideal for families!

Really cool hotel about 10 minute walk from Zurich Hauptbahnhof so a convenient location for central Zurich. Really interesting art througout the hotel including in our room. The staff facilitated a late check out for us. But the highlight was the excellent service at the breakfast in the attached bar/restaurant. Really friendly and helpful staff overall. I would definitely stay here again next time I'm in Zurich.

The hotel was clean and nicely decorated. The dining experience was excellent. The staff were wonderful!

Location is literally perfect, room was second floor with zero noise from streets, spotless and absolutely luxurious. The vip access included a bottle of prosecco and the lobby staff was incredibly nice. During this trip i visited 4 countries in EU and this hotel was hands down the best. I will be going back.

The key positives are: the hotel's charming building with character, it's staff who are genuinely kind and attentive. Very comfortable bed (brand Hästens). The hotel's location is also fantastic. You are at an 8mins walking distance to Zurich Main station and there's literally an S-bahn station at the hotel's door step. You are also in convenient walking distance to everything central in Zurich and you have a fantasticly clean 50m public swimming pool (Hallenbad) about 3mins by foot from the hotel. Internal sounds at the hotel are however a major problem. You will hear everything in neighbouring rooms, hallways etc. External sounds like trams will both be heard and felt. Stomping guest will wake you up even if sleeping with earplugs as your room will shiver. I was originally given a room facing the street but after complaining and pointing out that rooms are sold as "soundproofed" on hotels.com, i was given a smaller (but cosy) room at the riverside of the hotel. No difference in sound except you feel the trams less. I'm not sure about the rooms interior design and it was a little bit dented but at an acceptable level. Cleanliness was good but not spotless to deserve 5/5. Again: the hotel's location, the charming building, the very nice staff and the pricing point would make me consider staying again. Regarding breakfast. It's delux-continental (ie. Incl made to order egg + cold cuts). Great quality and pricing at CHF 25 is reasonable for this and for Zurich.

Great location and the attic rooms are spacious and comfortable. Front door could use a new coat of paint…and since that is the first thing you see when we arriving, and first impressions mean something, it would be nice if those kind of maintenance items were taken care of; same goes for the mildew found on the shower ceiling and tiles in our room. Overall we love this place and have stayed a few times and are happy to call the Helvetia home when we are in Zurich. But, the property does need some attention.

Ótima localização, perto da estação principal e de transporte público. Tamanho do quarto é bom, o que pecou foi na limpeza e em algumas comodidades. São elas: Quarto é na chave ainda e não cartão, caso esqueça de girar a chave o quarto fica aberto. Limpeza não é legal, encontramos cabelos, que não eram nossos, no banheiro após a limpeza diária. Não ter recepção 24h não é bem um problema, mas dificulta algumas comodidades. A entrada ser uma porta comum, para quem vem com malas é sempre uma dor de cabeça. No geral, é um bom hotel, mas existem pontos a melhorar.

Adequate for one night Very small room but clean Old building

We stayed in the Junior Suite and it offered a nice layout for a family of 4. The location walkable to the Old Town and there was a delicious restaurant in the building.

Room was clean and view was good. Tiny space! Shower water temp fluctuating between scalding and freezing the whole time. No real AC, just a room unit requiring you to leave the windows open. Pillows were tiny too. Shower wouldn’t drain. All in all it was clean and safe with good wifi and a convenient location. Glad it was only one night.

We loved our stay. Our room was one of the 5th floor apartment style rooms which was unique and let us spread out a bit. The kitchenette was welcome. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the decor. Safe convenient area. Easy walk to the main train station and a large Coop.

Really cool hotel but the room we stayed in is minuscule with very limited space to walk around the bed, let alone put luggage out.

Small tiny rooms. Otherwise all good

The woman at the front seat was so wonderful and friendly, and was able to assist us in English. The hotel is well situated, we walked from the train station and to the old town. We stayed in one of the apartments which was a. Outstanding space for our family of 4 (2 teen girls and 2 parents)

Great service and very accommodating!

Our stay here was wonderful! We requested an early check-in ahead of time and they were able to accommodate our request, which we greatly appreciated so that we could nap after our long flight in. The room, although a little smaller than we're used to being from the US, was clean and well set-up with a little balcony for us to enjoy. The staff was very responsive and helpful with all questions and requests. We also loved that the location was walking distance to Old Town, where we loved exploring the area for it's beautiful buildings and restaurants. It's also only a 10min walk to the main train station if you're planning to check out several cities while staying in Switzerland. Overall we enjoyed our stay, and would definitely stay here again :)

Great location, extremely nice staff, amazing coffee, comfortable room with adequate size. Can’t think of something that I didn’t like (except the big and heavy key chain they use for the room key)

The hotel staff are second to none. They bent over backwards during our stay, we couldn’t have asked for anything more. The room was clean and quiet even though street facing. The amenities were great. Will definitely stay here next time we are in Zurich

Close to the train station; lots of character; quaint and convenient. It is on a busy corner, but the windows and shades make it quiet and dark(er). I've stayed here before and both times were good visits.

Quizá el unico pero es que decía que era una estancia VIP (con beneficios de ser socio de hoteles.com, y no recibimos algún beneficio) pero en general super bien

Beautifuly decorated attic suite we stayed it. It was quite roomy for the 3 of us and very comfortable. The hotel is about an 8 min walk to Zurich HB station and has lots of places nearby for a quick bite. We had the continental breakfast one morning and it wasn’t the best for kids so we skipped it after that. We would return to this hotel on our next trip for sure!!

Central location within walking distance of all the clean, safe Zurich sites. Some crazies shouting around the hotel when we arrived, but the staff were exceptional, the room spacious, the floors heated. Thick twice before you upgrade for the breakfast "buffet." There is no value other than to sit in the extremely cool restaurant. A great stay for a good price. For three nights, a bargain.
