Couple of night stay away with work, always my go to place to stay in cambridge, food and drink is always great, staff are amazing and I'd had an issue with the kettle not working this time, so as I left for my work day I'd left a note by the kettle saying it didnt work, when I returned there was a working kettle. Lovely snd quiet place to stay, very convenient for train station, literally across the road, but i drive and park in the car park around the back.

The reception and bar staff are very friendly, but then there is the chef, he has an attitude problem, talks to the bar staff inappropriately in front of customers, he didn’t even turn up for breakfast, so I went hungry, staff apologised, but he is rude and obnoxious, if I was the owner I would be thinking of replacing him, he spoiled a work trip for me twice now, so unfortunately will not be staying there again.

On arrival at 5pm we were informed that the pub bar was closing at 5.30pm even though the information sheet in the room stated 7pm. We were also told there wasn’t any food available again despite no details explaining that on the website when we booked. We asked where we could get food as we had travelled a long way and were told by the young lady there might be a pub up the road or takeaways in the next village. We would definitely not have booked this accommodation if we’d known the bar would be shut and no food was available. On walking back to our car we noticed that the hotel opposite was open and indeed serving food, strange that the young lady didn’t mention this.
