I booked for 8 days, it’s perfect for a beach type of people, cause they have 2 beach chairs that comes complementary, (umbrella is not included). Everything is in a walking distance which is super convenient. A lot of bars and restaurants on that street and Ocean drive is the next street, full of dining and bar options. Staff is very helpful. I’d definitely come back. They also have a coffee and tea station 24/7, water fountain.

I stayed there with my son, for 4 nights. It was exactly what we were looking for. We had a comfortable queen bed and sofa bed. We had a nice little kitchen. Bathroom was not big but OK. We had a chair dining table. Breakfasts are basic, but good with coffee, juice, waffles, bagels, toasts, viennoiserie, cereals, yogurts, apples and bananas. You could eat either outside of the hotel or bring back the breakfast in your room. It's also good that they have an agreement for a free chair at the beach with Boucher Brothers, along with free beach towels.

Ocean Reef was fantastic. Staff were extremely friendly. The room was extremely quiet which we were not expecting for South Beach. Location is incredible, two blocks from the beach. Breakfast and unlimited coffee/tea available and included. Each room gets two complimentary lounge chairs and towels for south beach. We travelled with our 9 month old and it was a great visit. The Italian restaurant attached is very good also!

They just placed me in a room that I did not pay for. Said that they were upgrading my room, but put me in a handicap assessable room. Refused to accommodate what I paid for. Charge you for towels. Breakfast was horrible. No elevator. I had to walk two flights of stairs to get to my room. Overall, worst experience ever.

Initially everything was great! We checked in, room was fine and I thought it was a good use of space. The problem was on the next morning as we were getting ready I picked up a towel from the floor and there was a cockroach under it, and I’m telling you this was the biggest one I’ve ever seen! It was at least 3.5-4 inches long, literally. Of course we took it to the front desk, but all the man had to said was that they’re aware there is an issue and they have an exterminator come in on Mondays (we stayed on a Wednesday.) I just wanted to share that because I had read a lot of reviews on this hotel prior to booking with them and no one mentioned it. I will say that I did check the room when we arrived as I’m paranoid of any hotel we stay at so I check for bugs/bedbugs/etc. and I didn’t see anything! There was a gap under the door that lead to the hallway and I honestly feel like that’s where it came from, and where I found it wasn’t too far from the door.

Positive points: Near the beach Near stores, restaurants, pharmacy Negative points: The room floor was not cleaned well Not much service (we had to deal with our suitcases) As mentioned in previous comments, the air conditioning is very noisy The second bed is next to the air conditioning In general : Breakfast option is limited but perfect for families with young children or those who don't eat much at breakfast. Well located but in need of some renovation.

Check in was great, thier small free buffet beakfast was fair. The 2nd bed in the suite was a futon so not conformable and we did capture a 2in long cockroach in our room but i guess being from places with out cockroaches this is worse for us.

Breakfast could have been better. It was the same six or seven items every single day. No facial tissue provided in the room. I think the "resort fees" are pretty exorbitant considering for what is provided. Staff was courteous. Room was clean. No dish towel or dish rack was provided for the dishes, just a sponge and detergent.

Everything was nice in terms of cleanliness, staff, location, and spacious suite except very cramped bathroom. During our stay I was thinking it would be nice to increase the bathroom size by taking 20 sq feet from the kichenette just to improve the guest experince!

The rooms were pretty dirty. The towels are bad quality. The window ac is complicated too. It was only cool on one side of the room and the bathroom area was very humid when we took a shower, and the floor of the shower is pretty gross with orange-ish marks on the edges. There is no ventilation. The stairs are sooo loud and very old. The whole place needs a remodel. There are a a lot of mosquitos too.

Stayed four nights. Housekeeping kept our room so clean daily, beds made, clean towels. Spacious room. Loved the fact they provided 2 beach lounge chairs. A couple of blocks to the area where they provide the beach chairs. Fruit, waffles, cereal, bagels, toast for breakfast. Enjoyed my stay at Ocean Reef Suites at South Beach.

The walls are paper thin, you could hear everything through the door, house keeping came in the next morning after our arrival without noticing us about it first. We felt like we did not have any privacy. The front desk staff except for 2 staff members were not very nice or welcoming. I would say look around for other places. We found another hotel for the next night as we decided to stay in town and found a much better hotel with a pool for a lower price.

This place was just as expected. Walkable distance to the beach, lots of restaurants nearby, room was decent size with a convenient dinner table, a small utility area. The shower water pressure was a bit low,, hot water took a while to come, also we took a while to figure out the way toilet flush worked. Breakfast options were minimal. Staff were very courteous n helpful. We were allowed to keep our luggage there till the evening after we checked out. Overall a good bang for the buck place. Certainly recommended!!

My stay at Ocean Reef was like a blind date. Having only online photos to go by doesn't quite paint an honest picture. Space was adequate however the entire property is in need of upgrades. Room was pretty warm. Window AC wasnt pushing out enough cool air to circulate properly. Split unit cooling system would be more efficient. Bed mattress was way too soft. There was also a moldy smell. That said, I was unable to get a good night's rest. Staff, convenience, and location were the greatest pros of staying at Ocean Reef. Once this property gets a much needed facelift, it will be an ideal option because everything else is a plus.

A waffle maker does not mean full breakfast. Takes 20 minutes to get hot water in shower. Air ventilation in rooms is nonexistent. Kitchen in suite had no cookware, wash utensils, stove, or anything else to use the kitchen.

The property was nice, the matress on the bed was not big enough for the bed and the bed was so loud even turning on the bed it made a sound, this the first hotel i have went to and the bed they claim is queen size didn't have a big enough matress and was just loud, no comfort.

Had mixed experience staying here. There’s no elevator, so carrying large suitcases up the stairs was extremely hard and gave a skeptic first impression. The room was also much smaller than the photos showed and didn’t even have a coffee maker, despite showcasing a “full kitchen” in the ad. However, the occasion more than made up for these little things. The staff were friendly and very supportive. I had an injury incident, and even in the middle of the night, the manager came up, gave us all the help that he could, and out of courtesy, even called us a limo to the airport. So, you get what you pay for and some more because of the staff!

Best customer service by Pedro Pineda, he is outstanding at what he does going to be on the scope of his responsibility. Amazing customer service location is very clean, comfortable safe, super close to all the things that I needed and conveniently located., also great Italian restaurant connected to it. All staff and maids are super friendly hospitable . I’m a very happy customer and I will definitely stay again here at this location. From Kev

They were very accomodating for our late arrival - after midnight and no issues getting in and settled. The room was very clean and they had a bed made up for our small son as well. A convenient breakfast buffet with a few good options is included. Also very nice and convenient location to walk anywhere and 1 block from the beach.

The staff is friendly and nice. The location is good. The room is clean and nice. The only issue was the breakfast menu. It is almost nothing. Only waffle, toast, coffee and mini spread cheese packets. I hope they can add more staff to the menu.

The hotel location is absolutely perfect! Stuff was very nice, room was clean and well equipped with a big closet (which we didnt use but it was cool Haha) i would choose this hotel again. One thing i didnt like is breakfast… is horrible but from my experience in America they don't care much about breakfast so it was not so surprising but because i can’t eat gluten and milk there is nothing i can choose… just junk food. But despite this hotel is great !

Great location and great find. Had a studio room which was quite basic but extremely clean. The bed was comfortable with big squishy pillows which I love. Restaurant downstairs was great and I highly recommend the seafood linguini! You get towels for the beach over the road and everything is close by. Would stay there again.

It’s a great place to stay as the location is close to the beach. The room isn’t very big. Breakfast was disappointing as it was cereal, bread, or crossants and bagel, no eggs. Coffee had no taste. You had to pick up your food in trays in lobby and take them to outside tables if you could find an empty one or bring it back to your room. The tables weren’t clean. The front desk workers were excellent. They are very helpful and kind.
