Adamson Hotel

A well maintained property in a quiet part of the town. Rooms were spacious, well kept and clean. Staff were quite friendly and accommodating. Has an in house restaurant which serves yummy food. We paid for the breakfast but only continental was the major part of breakfast, for vegans.

Great pub and excellent place to stay. My first time at the Adamson, turned out to be a great choice. The pub and restaurant have been completely refurbished with plenty of nice places to sit. The new fireplace and bar area look fantastic and there was a pleasant atmosphere. The bar and restaurant was used by both guests and locals, very spacious between tables, lounge chairs and quiet. Parking was easy, even with locals using the restaurant. My room as very comfortable, I just a had a single bed room, but it was just fine. My bed seemed new and comfortable. The room had recently been renovated. My bathroom was nicely appointed, good water pressure. Room heating was great and it was quiet at night. Breakfast was excellent, full cooked breakfast (and fresh….). A ok selection of cereals, coffee and tea. Also lots of fruit and yogurt. 👍 It’s a spacious, stylish and comfortable place to stay. Excellent for an overnighted or staying longer. I really liked the lounge areas and the large fireplace. Likewise the staff are really warm and friendly, locals too. I’d stay again.

Ideal location for visiting Dunfermline. Hotel was spotless, quiet, nicely decorated and seems to be very efficiently run. Staff we encountered were all very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Easy parking topped off this great experience. Would not hesitate to return if in the area again.

We had a lovely evening a stay the rooms were very nice and very clean the staff were brilliant so friendly the food in the restaurant was excellent and very reasonably priced I would Definitely stay here again

Great hotel, fantastic menu.

Very comfortable hotel with excellent service at a great price. Breakfast was adequate for me and was great considering the overall rate. Bar prices very reasonable for a hotel. Location was perfect for the areas I needed to visit and ample free parking in a peaceful location.

Stayed one night to collect a relative from airport. Cost of hotel was good. Check-in was easy, room was a single so small but that was as expected. Main issue was the cleanliness of the room. Bathroom was not very clean especially the shower which was old and hardly any power. Worst part was a ‘silver’ metal shelf unit that had more rust than metal showing. The bedroom had dirty skirting boards and other areas that hadn’t been touched. The bed had no head board and was underneath a window as a result the curtain was resting on my head when laid down. I had to open the window and push the curtain outside to resolve the problem. Breakfast was ok and unlike many included in the price. Open 7-9am I came down at 0750 Tea was in a flask and only lukewarm, food stuffs were ok but they had ran out of beans after being open 45mins and said they didn’t have anymore. Hotel served its purpose but not great sadly

The toilet has hair on and the sink was half blocked soap left in the shower from previous guests .

This property is in need of major maintenance. The doors don't lock . There are lamps burned out. Floor had crisps on it. Bed was old and worn out dips in middle. Sink was so close to the toilet you could go and brush your teeth at the same time. Will never stay here again.

Very nice little hotel, lovely staff and nice breakfast. The room could do with a little bit more cleaning though.

I liked this hotel, the decor was nice, it has good parking however I was disappointed by the stains on the carpet in the bedroom 212. On arrival there was no one at reception and I had to wait till someone saw me but every interaction with staff was positive and friendly. Breakfast was good except the food could have been hotter.

Fourth stay at this hotel, but first time in the single room. But the bathroom was way below standard. The shower trap had not been taken out, the shower head was covered in dirt and mould and there were numerous long black hairs in the bathroom. A bit disappointed with the hotel this time and may not book again. Other than that this hotel is actually very nice.

Premises is clean but rooms are basic. Tea facilities in room but two of the teabags were soiled. so just threw them in the bin. No iron or ironing board in the room so i asked at reception and had a very contaminated iron delivered to me. Also no phones in the room so guests have to walk to reception if they need anything. Frustratingly they don’t take Amex, so had to use personal credit card. Also they don’t offer the option to charge dinner to the room account, it has to be paid separately in the bar. Food choice is limited. Breakfast was also limited and the cooked offering not very palatable. alright for cheap bed for the night but below what you would expect of a hotel. Much scope for improvement.

Lovely hotel, bar, restaurant and parking. No real issues allthough two points to raise. I ordered soup which cane with butter and additional salt added, which is very strange! Also the bathroom fan was in desperate need of a clean, the kettle also needed a real clean really setting a poor scene. I don't understand why basic cleanliness is not a top priority as it did let the hotel down other than this my stay was good.

A little underwhelming. I booked 3 double rooms for three days as we were working at Knockhill circuit just up the road. All 3 rooms had the same issues. Low water pressure, I was in 215 and it was not that good at all, the time of day never made a difference either. Wifi access, In my room there was no wife access at all I was told I must be out of range. I tries both wife addresses the hotel used but none would reach the room. I could not use my phone as a 'Hot spot" either as at the back of the hotel where the room was had no phone reception . Nice tidy hotel but it's not one I would go to if you have work to do. I also had no desk in my room so no space for a laptop so it was work in the bar or nothing. 6/10 as generally nice tidy and clean, good staff but a few points that bring it down.

Hotel is nice however stay was spoiled by the noise. Walls and windows must be paper thin as it felt like we were in the private function next door

Only negative was that we were in the first room on the bottom floor and there was an outside light above the outside door and even with curtains closed it was like sleeping with a light on inside our room,only negative thing as room had everything you need and beds were super comfy.

It looked good, but if you wanted a hot shower it was less powerful. It is frequented by coach parties so if you timed breakfast wrong, that could be an issue. Worth asking at reception when they would be eating to avoid?

The staff were all wonderful. The restaurant looked very nice, but I didn't eat there. They had a weird rule where you couldn't bring any outside food in and eat in your room. I just thought that odd, and never had seen that in a hotel before. Also, the walls were paper thin. I could clearly hear the conversation in the room next to me, and those people weren't being loud at all.

Third time staying at the Adamson. I’d been in this room before (I’m a solo traveller) and it’s very clean and comfortable. I know ‘rainfall’ showers are the thing these days, but they really aren’t great. Zero water pressure and even at the hottest setting it was barely warm. Took so long to shower as it was a trickle… Other than the rubbish shower, the overall stay was good.

Staff were very friendly on arrival, plenty parking too. Room was clean good TV. Room didn't get to hot either. Only downside was the shower as the water pressure was non existent.

Beautifully updated/extended hotel. Very smart and clean. Welcome and service excellent throughout. Room was in original building - quite compact but adequate. Newly and very nicely decorated. Very tight space between bed and bathroom so moving around difficult. Comfortably warm. Very basic bathroom and disappointingly poor shower. Only one bedside table/ light. “Awful” mattress so not most comfortable sleep. However, excellent value for money. Good dinner and very good breakfast

Great looking hotel. Ample parking when we arrived. Family room for 2 adults and 2 kids, very spacious, lots of room Bathroom very nice, very clean Biscuits with coffee selction is a nice touch as is the soap and body wash. Negatives - No fan in the room and reception unable to provide one. Main bed was very uncomfortable as was the couch bed

Perfect overnight stay so we could fly the next day. Took us 25 mins at 5am to get to Edinburgh airport. The staff in the hotel couldn’t do enough for us. Really excellent service

Fantastic stay - perfect for an overnight before a flight. Super helpful service and nice comfy and clean room. Reception staff kindly refunded breakfast cost when we checked in as they could not accommodate a ‘to go’ option that day, but they said they would have been able to if we requested in advance.

Easy to find, plenty parking. Friendly staff at checkin. Got a lovely upgrade to larger room which was clean and comfortable. Nice buffet breakfast. Would certainly stay again if in the area.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Adamson Hotel. We were made to feel very welcome the moment we arrived, and all the staff should be complimented. Our room was very comfortable and our evening meal was the icing on the cake_ we would certainly add it to our places to stay when visiting Fife.

From checkin in, to checking out, staff were lovely, nice pints in the bar and a cracking breakfast. Definitely recommend and will be back.

I would give zero stars if option to select. Do not book at this poorly run hotel. Booked a family room for 2 Adults and 2 Children. Checked in to find we were given a Room for 2 Adults with one double bed. Made a complaint at reception, but hotel fully booked. Receptionist said room should not have been released to us but no option and they hastily pulled out a sofabed and moved a double bed to the side to accommodate. This meant you could not access wardrobes, shelves or desk and had to crawl over beds to move to the other side of the room. Sofa bed not fit for purpose, mattress very springy and children unable to sleep. To make matters worse, the hotel manager tries to absolve responsibility by saying it was a family room, and they have taken our feedback for future! Absolutely disgusting and appalling behaviour. They clearly don’t put customers first and you can see this at reception where staff are junior and have no authority whatsoever in dealing with complaints effectively or efficiently. When asking for the manager, they are not on site and apparently do not work weekends. Absolute rubbish. We are a principled family and I would hate for this to happen to another family, so they will be hearing from my solicitors for breach of contract. They do not understand who they are dealing with and I will be in this for the long run until a successful conclusion is drawn.

It’s right beside the bus stop, which made it extremely convenient. And the restaurant food was pretty decent with very friendly staff. Overall it was a very nice stay.

It was welcoming and pleasant very comfortable room. However when we booked it came under Edinburgh search was a little out the way but that was just a small thing everything else was superb

We used the Adamson as a base for fringe festival. Was really easy to get in and out of Edinburgh and park at the train station which was very close to the hotel. We had a family room which was great value for money. Very clean, staff super helpful and we would happily stay here again. Great stay.

The hotel was modern, fresh and comfortable . A short drive from Edinburgh park and ride. Not far to the Odeon for evening entertainment. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was fresh, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was clean and modern. My teenage daughter says it was bangin...! I can thouroughly recommend the place and I would gladly return if I come to this area again.

Clean and comfortable hotel. Staff welcoming and friendly. Not too large with easy access. Good location for touring. Top Tip - short trip to railway station in Dunfermline. Free parking and £7 return to Edinburgh - bargain.

Went down 830 breakfast , hardly any food left in hot plates Eggs dried up. No mushrooms Asked waitress more, she was not over helpfull said we.re waiting on a delivery .....

Lovely hotel and family suite was clean and spacious. No towels were left out so had to ask for them at reception and this was rectified straight away. Poor breakfast. No vegetarian option so we didnt have much choice. Asked for vegetarian sausages and was told this is something that should have been pre ordered when i booked the hotel. I didnt realise this as all other hotels cater to vegetarians. Disappointing

Came for the price, stayed for the bed, waddled out after the breakfast. Clean room, comfy sleep, tasty dinner — 10/10 would accidentally overeat again.

Hotel and evening meal was very good, however the breakfast was a complete let down, not enough cooked food out and only one member of staff doing the serving.

The room was needing updated, and the bed had a poor quilty mattress. Completely run down. Poor breakfast, they run out of alot of hot foods. Staff were very nice though.
