Very beautiful hotel. About 2 miles from the Latin quarter but a nice walk along the water. Of note, parking was not included when booked through hotels.com. You have to pay 5 euro for parking for 1 night

Our hotel stay was so so. Would we stay again answer is no. The staff were not the nicest we seem to be an inconvenience to them anyway the hotel is overpriced for what they offer. We had a standard room which was pretty small, also we could not use the shower as there was no way to stop it from flooding the bathroom. The way it is built there is no lip to retain the water the drain was slow so the water started to spill out onto the bathroom floor. The pool rules are ridiculous you have to buy a swimming cap. No one can get into the pool without one. Also don’t forget to bring money for the locker otherwise no locker for you clothes if you decide to swim. They also close this area down at 8pm which is rather early. Would I personally recommend this hotel no. Either way thanks.

Salthill Hotel sits right on the coast in Galway, a beautiful and great location. When we arrived, we were told that Hotels.com customers had to pay for parking, which was only €5, not too bad but a little annoying to be siloed because of where the booking originated. We had three issues with our room. The first is that the room was far too hot, and there was no temperature control in the room. The window only opened a tiny slit, so there was virtually no air circulation and no way to make the room cooler. For a woman in menopause, this is an absolute disaster. The bathroom didn't have a working exhaust fan either, so it fogged up and stayed that way. Once we showered, the bathroom was unusable for make-up or anything else because of the lack of ventilation. When I went to blow dry my hair, the socket was located about 15 feet away from the only mirror, so I wasn't able to see what I was doing when drying my hair. Not sure why they didn't put a mirror near the socket? The next morning, we had to leave rather early. We went to the lobby for breakfast and were told breakfast wasn't available until 8am on Sundays. So we went back upstairs to pack up and get on the road. When we came back downstairs, the breakfast area was open at 7:30! But we had already brushed teeth etc, so we just left. For €230/night, the whole experience didn't sit well.

Best service ever. The staff was courteous conscientious kind helpful above and beyond the call of duty.Extra large room to spread out and enjoy ocean view. Most incredible Olympic size swimming pool for laps, another pool for fun, a baby pool, and the biggest hot tub which turned out to be the right size.

We had an oceanfront room, so the view of the Atlantic was wonderful. The included breakfast buffet was fine. The hotel is classic in style. We particularly liked the combo bar and restaurant room. Very warm and classic, and the tables were a nice distance apart. Our one issue that keeps this from being 5 stars is that the carpet in our room was old and a bit smelly.

The hotel was very clean and hospitable. There is beautiful Galway Bay and the promenade across the street. There is a lovely outdoor picnic area for warmer weather. The breakfast was delicious and suited to all tastes. We had a lovely dinner in the pub with friends as well! We highly recommend this hotel.

Emplacement idéal face à la mer, arrêt de bus à proximité. Par contre un petit bémol sur le ménage : la moquette était sale n’avait pas été nettoyée ni aspirée depuis plusieurs jours. Idem pour le sol de la salle de bain cheveux par terre. Le ménage n’avait pas été fait malgré une arrivée à 17h. Décevant pour un hôtel de 4 étoiles. La personne de la réception du mardi matin s’est excusée du désagrément et à fait intervenir une équipe de nettoyage. Tout était propre à notre retour. Le buffet du breakfast était très simple et pas très varié. Pas de fruits frais, pas de yaourts, de fruits rouges. Dommage pour un hôtel 4 étoiles. Nous avons regretté l’absence de personnel à la réception parlant le français…

Unfortunately had a really poor experience here. Staff wasn’t overly welcoming and all interactions were very short and curt. Our room though was really bad. It smelled awful, very stale and unclean. The bedding itself smelled neutral, but throughout the night I could continually smell stale body odour which I believe may have been coming from the beds themselves. Our room was also right above the main entrance so we heard banging everytime the front door opened plus people standing out the front talking and vehicles idling, plus banging from adjacent room doors in the late evening and early morning. I did not bother to contact the staff during our stay due to their unfriendliness at check in and when we called down with questions later on.

What a lovely modern hotel right by the ocean! We had a large king bedroom, sparkling clean, with wonderful amenities. The bed was really comfortable. Check-in was easy and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We wished we could’ve stayed longer!

On arrival we were told we would have to pay a €5 fee for parking which we paid happily then when leaving were presented with a €15 fee at the barrier which we weren’t told about! We were told the €5 would cover over stay!! Also was given room number 111 when we were supposed to have 204, Room 111 was disgusting!! There was some sort of stains on one of the hand towels (see photo) there was also a condom left in the mini fridge which is very strange!? Have emailed the hotel and they haven’t bothered to reply so leaves me to write a negative review hoping no one else loses out on their money like we did!! Overall not happy with our stay and Will not be returning in the future!

This was a last minute reservation and the hotel was full, so I am pretty sure we got the last room-- the one they never rent. The room ws in rough shape-- molding missing on the ceiling, artwork missing from the walls, dirty carpet. The only power outlets were by the TV and were being used by the TV, fan, fridge. We had no way to charge anything. After much pleading and half a day, they brought us a multi-plug from someone's office. With no AC and a heatwave, it was miserably hot in the room. No screens on the windows means as soon as it gets dark, your room fills with moths and bugs. Restaurant and bar were good and the downstiars of hotel was lovely.

Our room was spacious, but quite dated. The mattress was terrible. There was no coffee in the room. Breakfast wasn't great. On our last morning, the fire alarm went off at 6:30AM and we had to evacuate. There was not a single staff member available to provide direction or communication about where we should go, what happened, etc. This is a major safety concern.

For a 4 star hotel it didn’t have air conditioning, they gave small fan which was not powerful at all. The bedsheet felt very cheap, and would get dirty very quick. For the price the charge, expected better. Very disappointed.

From checking in to checking out the staff were absolutely lovely. A warm welcome from the girls. I ate in the bar where the service was excellent - especially Saorla, but the whole team were excellent

Unbelievably noisy! There was a wedding party in the hotel for the one night we stayed. We could hear every song they blasted out of their speakers from the moment we entered the room (about 10:30 pm) until about 2:15 a.m. I called to complain about the racket they were making three times - at 11:00 pm, at about 12:15 am, and then again at 2:10 am (to ask why it had not stopped at 2:00 am). I complained to the manager the next morning. He said that there was nothing that they could or would do. I asked him why they gave us rooms that were not sound-proofed near the wedding music. He said that they were not as close to the wedding music as I thought (we were on the second floor; wedding was on ground floor). I could not believe he was telling me that there were possibly rooms closer again to the wedding music! Neither of us could sleep. I will never stay in this hotel again. Never. Do not on your life stay in this hotel if there is a wedding; you will know the entire playlist of the wedding band/DJ if you do, every note. I have stayed in many hotels in many parts of the world; this was the worst for noise *ever*.

Lovely location and it helped that the weather was marvelous. A lot of the hotel staff was brand new, so service was a bit sketchy because they seemed overwhelmed (and it was busy because the weather was so nice). Hope that shakes out as time goes by and they grow into their new jobs.

I cannot fault this hotel at all, the place is impeccable and staff were outstanding. Very welcoming, from the front desk, restaurant staff, bar staff and breakfast staff, everyone we came across was so nice. Will definitely stay again.

On arrival we were told we would have to pay a €5 fee for parking which we paid happily then when leaving were presented with a €15 fee at the barrier which we weren’t told about! We were told the €5 would cover over stay!! Also was given room number 111 when we were supposed to have 204, Room 111 was disgusting!! There was some sort of stains on one of the hand towels (see photo) there was also a condom left in the mini fridge which is very strange!? Have emailed the hotel and they haven’t bothered to reply so leaves me to write a negative review hoping no one else loses out on their money like we did!! Overall not happy with our stay and Will not be returning in the future!

Great location. Bar men the star attraction of hotel. V efficient, polite & friendly. Overall service in hotel is average. Experienced slow service for 3 day stay in bar & restaurant from waiting staff. Very slow mode of pace - throughout. Leisure centre excellent. Members of management could be much friendlier.

Great location. We selected this site to be out of Galway City, but near, and for the views of Galway Bay. It was perfect. The pub was great to watch the rugby matches and for food/drink.

The best about the property is its location. The sea promenade is right opposite the Hotel and it has spacious rooms. Service is good too. The staff is helpful, courteous and efficient. My stay there was good and I recommend the Hotel to others visiting Galway, Ireland. Galway town center is nothing to rave about and sea shore location is the best. The rooms are reasonably priced. The hotel is well connected by Public Transport i.e. Bus.

We had an oceanfront room, so the view of the Atlantic was wonderful. The included breakfast buffet was fine. The hotel is classic in style. We particularly liked the combo bar and restaurant room. Very warm and classic, and the tables were a nice distance apart. Our one issue that keeps this from being 5 stars is that the carpet in our room was old and a bit smelly.

Hotel rooms very nice and clean. Breakfast area and service not so good. Burnt toast served and I mean creamated. Fried eggs dried up. Asked for freshly cooked eggs and sat down ar our table with our breakfast. Waited 10mins nearly finished our breakfast so went to ask what happened to our freSly cooked eggs and they had placed them into the dish under the hotplate without letting us know. Any other customer could have taken them staff in breajfast room slow and not sure what was going on half the time. Tables all left dirty and full of dishes etc.

Main restaurant closed during our stay there was a bar and Grill available. They were somewhat shortstaffed took a while to get food and drinks. However, staff was very friendly and accommodating. Hotel was lovely - front desk was very welcoming, and the lobby has loads of sofas to wait while meeting up with others. Beds were comfortable and rooms spacious. Ours looked out towards the sea (though the car park is immediately outside) and must be even nicer on a summer day. My son's room overlooked a small but pretty park. The main pool was great for doing lengths and the smaller pool was great for messing around. Sauna very hot, steam room good and jacuzzi was huge (but was needed as the health club is busy). Breakfast was good quality and decent variety. Food in the restaurant/bar was good, but by 8pm, they had already run out of the two main meals we had wanted, which I wouldn't have expected in a hotel this size. Pints of Guinness were really great, but they didn't have all the beers listed on the menu.

Loved the location, setting, decor, room etc. Would definitely recommend. Was a bit disappointed with the dinner. And maybe a gluten free option for breakfast, non dairy milks available etc. But other than that we had a great time.

Was incredibly convenient to our show at Leisureland. Room was comfortable and well equipped. Only issue was that service at the bar/restaurant is slow. Food was ok; ordered calamari and it was 5 rings, so not exactly generous. Breakfast was good and desk staff exacting. I’ll come back!

Hotel is nice, bar was lovely, great breakfast and amazing pool and sauna facility, The hotel room was wee bit tired( 3 star at best, loose frayed carpet at window, skirtings boards could do with some fresh paint and a hole in tiles below sink should have been covered up. For the price they charge per room, the attention to detail needs more attention.
