The hotel is conveniently located to several subway lines and is a walkable distance from MSG and Chelsea/Meatpacking District. Price was lower than many hotels in the area. That said, breakfast is a little lackluster, the furnishings are old, and our shower faucet let out some brown water when initially turned on.

Easy to miss from the street, but the reception area is clean and pleasant with lovely early 20th century touches and a colored glass montage separating it from the breakfast area. Staff were were helpful, sometimes going out of their way to help. Our room was plain but comfortable and clean and we slept well. From the diagram of fire escape routes, the various rooms vary a lot in size and shape, so our relatively large room may not be typical. It's a good location and I think a reasonable value for New York. Early morning transfer against the traffic to Newark Airport was easy.
