Grande Albergo Internazionale

I booked this hotel in a hurry, 1 week b4 my trip. After booking, I read the reviews in more detail, but it was too late to change without losing my money. I arrived late &, although the room was very small, I was initially relieved. Unfortunately, the problems soon became apparent. The shower was tiny, the door didn’t close properly & the water wouldn’t drain. I had to repeatedly switch it off to prevent the shower flooding. It was the kind of shower that left you feeling dirtier getting out than when you went in. There were no tea/coffee facilities or complimentary water, the mini fridge didn’t work, & the bed only had a sheet, leaving me freezing on the 1st night. There was a stained quilt in the wardrobe. The room wasn’t entirely clean, with stains, dust & marks thru out.I reported the shower & was told it would be checked, but nothing was done. After raising it again & showing reception a video, I was eventually moved to a new room. This was more comfortable with a better bathroom, although the shower head leaked. At breakfast, an AC above my table was dripping water onto me. Breakfast had a good selection of cake & sandwiches & plenty for me as a non-meat eater, but the machine “fruit” juice in a plastic cup & honey sachets felt disappointing. The staff were all very nice, but overall I was extremely disappointed. I paid a lot for 4 nights & don’t understand how this is rated 4*. Travelling alone should not mean being given such a small uncomfortable room & no amenities

We have a great stay

The hotel was lovely and in a great location In the booking on the hotels.com site it says free wifi in all the rooms. We were not given wifi information and when we went to the desk we were told there is no wifi in the rooms.

Great building, fantastic Location, helpful friendly staff, decent breakfast. good Aircon in room, however faded glory, could do with a bit of a spruce up. Would stay again.

Easy check in, very clean rooms, breakfast was nice, would stay here again
