Overall, the property and staff aren't bad. Not outstanding, but still fine in all ways considered. The hotel was clean. Room was a tad small. Bathtub/showers were a little difficult to step down from due to their height so if you slip you're in big trouble. No handle bars anywhere. The biggest issue in regards to the facility is safety in my opinion. Only half the rooms are on the side "with an elevator", the rest go up a stair case with very narrow steps. Therefore, if you have mobility issues, be prepared to struggle a bit. The hotel restaurant has good food and a nice size menu but is extremely pricey when compared to many nearby restaurants. The rooftop ambiance is nice, just be prepared to pay for it. Breakfast is great and offers good initial variety. That being said, it does not change from day to day. Therefore, be prepared to eat the same thing over and over. The gozleme made by a wonderful lady in the back room are delicious. Perhaps a little bit different ingredients beyond meat, cheese and spinach but overall a great addition. Staff at the front desk are great, they'll arrange tours and other outings for you, just be prepared to pay a bit of an inflated price. Location is great, it's a steep hike to the central squares but overall a short distance. If I return to Istanbul, I would likely select a different hotel but would not discourage anyone from booking this one.

Very walkable to the Sultanhamet area. I would say it's on the outer edge and not in the middle so perhaps it would have been more quiet except there was street construction so it was not (not their fault). The front desk staff was very helpful to all of our questions and getting us taxis or explaining the tram. Breakfast was included and very good. The hotel does not have a restaurant for dinner. There is a small rooftop bar but it was unattended because of the weather. It was not warm enough this time of year. Anyway, there are many rooftop bars in the area. I would have liked an iron in the room and a make-up mirror.

This property is immaculate, and has everything you need. Jacuzzi, hot water, rooftop, excellent breakfast, hotel staff were exceptional and beds comfortable. Walking distance to everything. We will definitely return.

The breakfast room/common area/bar was perfect, not only for breakfast but also for a drop-in coffee after a hectic morning. Rooftop bar offered the Bosphorus to view in all its glory. The gym was compact but excellent, loved the water bottle and fresh towel that sat on each piece of fitness equipment. Our room was comfortable and quiet and clean, even though it had not been renovated. Brilliant location in the historic centre. Walking distance to the hippodrome, Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and tram. Absolutely recommend.

Great, spacious room. Staff were superb. Lovely view from the rooftop (no food/drinks service however during winter), and a fantastic location near the major sights of Sultanahmet. The breakfast spread was generous with a selection of Western and Turkish options.

Although an older property excellent staff that looked out for you at all times. Convenient to the major attractions. Pretty good gym too for the size and a nice rooftop bar and restaurant. It’s not 5 star place but surprisingly comfortable .

The location was great—close to everything. The staff was very kind and attentive, and the front desk was always willing to help. Since I was traveling with my baby and stroller, and although there is an elevator, you still need to go up some stairs, the staff kindly helped me every time. However, one big downside was that the rooftop was closed during our stay, which was one of the main reasons I chose this hotel. They should clearly mention the closure dates in advance so guests can plan accordingly—not find out only upon arrival at the front desk. That kind of information is important when choosing where to stay

Great hotel close to main attractions of Istanbul. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very quiet despite being on street corner at ground level. Air conditioning worked well. Great rooftop bar with great views. Would come again.

Hotel was all dusty, the internet picture does not reflect the actual conditions. Broken carpets, dust everywhere.

I stayed twice at this hotel . Bathroom was clean , the hotel is ok . The rugs were torn and dirty in the rooms and on the second stay I was given one of the only 3 upgraded rooms . The rug had a bigger tear this time and walls were with dust to the point of being able to write on it . Very disappointed. However the staff was fantastic and very accommodating. Breakfast buffet was maybe a 6 of 10 . I have pictures if anyone cares to see them .

Room is very outdated and felt creepy to sleep in my own bed. Shower is just nasty the top shower head was moldy and it was dirty inside the tub

Bathtub leaked and door track was very dirty, but sundeck was great rm 801. No confirmation of airport transfer which created an issue when we did arrive. Otherwise the staff was very helpful! Eggs were always cold at breakfast but selection was good. The fresh made gozleme was excellent.

We stayed at this cozy hotel in Istanbul and had a great overall experience. The staff were incredibly helpful—they assisted with our airport transfers both to and from the hotel, which made everything much easier. The breakfast was amazing, with a great variety and delicious flavors. The only downside was during our second stay—the bathroom wasn’t properly cleaned, and the shower still had hair from the previous guest. That was disappointing, but aside from that, everything else was lovely. I would still consider staying here again thanks to the service and location

Nice little hotel. We had a balcony. Staff was great! Room could have used a bit of updating, but bed as very comfortable. Restaurant food was surprisingly good. Would stay there again.

This is a lovely restored property. I requested and received a room with a balcony and patio furniture which was wonderful. But it required 2 flights of stairs to get to after taking an elevator. I am just not able to do that kind of stair work after walking all day to see the sights. I switched hotels and the front desk could not have been more understanding or accommodating.

My room (a Standard Double Room) was quite small and badly needed renovating. (The hotel seemed to have two distinct portions to it, and perhaps the portion that I was in has not had an update but the other has?) When I checked in, there were guests in the rooms on either side of my room and I could hear their rather loud conversations perfectly, as if they were standing in my room along side of me. I went to the front desk and asked if perhaps there was a more quiet room they could move me to, but there was not. But in the end, sleeping with earplugs worked fine. ALL of the staff were extremely kind and eager to help. Although I did not feel unsafe in the neighborhood at all, it had a run-down quality to it as well. The proximity to the Blue Mosque and several key sights was excellent… but despite this, I would not book a hotel in that particular area on any future visit.

Hotel location is convenient which is central to everything. Staff is friendly and breakfast is good. Only the room is a bit outdated and needs to be renovated.

My room is close to the elevator. It’s noisy because of the noise from the main lobby. The staffs are nice. Breakfast has lots of variety. Location is close to the famous Morsque

I was given one of two rooms on the top floor of the hotel with a large private balcony looking over the bosphorus, very generously sized room with included lounging space, located in the heart of old town which is a close walk from many points of interest

As a family of 4 with two older children - the room was a great size (we booked a family room which comprised of two connecting rooms, each with their own bathroom, with it's own entrance, so you could close off an external door and have both room doors open. The rooms were very clean and had lots of windows, the only niggle we had was that our room was overlooking reception, so we could hear any noise coming from people coming and going etc, but this was not a huge issue. The hotel is in a great location, 5-10 mins walk to Sultanahmet square, with lots of good restaurants and shops on your doorstep - which for us was great as we only had 1.5 days in Istanbul and wanted to see the cultural and historical side, so we walked everywhere. The breakfast was great, with a lovely lady making fresh Gözleme. There was also a rooftop terrace which had great city and sea views. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. We couldn't fault anything and would definitely recommend this hotel for your stay in Istanbul.

The staff at this hotel are really amazing, helpful, communicative and very friendly.

A warm welcome taking our bags out of taxi and to our room was followed up by Serkan at reception offering us a drink and spending 30 minutes with us finding out what we were interested in with very helpful suggestions for sites, restaurants, Turkish delights and Baklava to take home, it was the best reception l've had in 40 years of international travel including many 5 star hotels. All the staff were beyond excellent. The room and bed were comfortable and we used the terrace to relax after dinner at the highly recommended Garden 1897. Breakfast buffet was also great. My wife was in the mood for cherries when she saw them at the market and they miraculously appeared as part of the buffet the next morning!

Hotel Amira far exceeded our expectations. Staff was over the top superb! Manager was very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. This is a perfect location to the historic section of Turkey, very safe and walkable. The roof top bar was a lot of fun, great views and great food. Or bartender played the guitar the second night and he was fabulous. All our connecting rides arranged through the hotel were seamless and prompt. My husband who is a diabetic lost his insulin on the flight over. The manager was on the phone and was able to direct us immediately to a pharmacy with the exact medicine we needed. Could not ask for better service. Would rate this as a 10 if possible!

All of the staff at Hotel Amira were helpful and professional. It was a great location for visiting landmarks and for catching the Tram.

Service was amazing, the rooms were large and the breakfast was good. Location was great! 10 minute walk to the blue mosque and all the places you need to see. There are also a few really good restaurants within 100 meters of the hotel.

Breakfast was very good with lots of options. The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful with directions, arranging a guide for a day, and other general information. They were right on the job with our luggage. Everyone was always super friendly and polite.

Fantastic Hotel in a great location! Roof top deck, awesome. The best staff I’ve ever encountered in my travels! Would definitely recommend!!!

Excellent location. Courteous and knowledgeable staff who go out of their way to help plan your day, make recommendations, and solve difficult challenges. Short walk to Blue Mosque and great dining options. Fantastic view from the rooftop bar of the Bosphorus and the old city, especially at sunrise. Highly recommend and would come again.

Perfect location in the historic area within walking distance to the Blue Mosque, the Hagia Sophia& the Topkekia Palace. The staff was extremely helpful and all around friendly. They offered great suggestions for dinner. The room was clean and surprisingly spacious! Breakfast offered a wide variety for all. I highly recommend Hotel Amira.

Like the friendly staff who are very helpful. The location can’t be beat in the old section of town and very walkable to the Blue Mosque and other great sites. Dinner on the roof balcony with a view of the Marmara Sea, the Hippodrome as well as the Blue Mosque. The call to prayers from many mosques told us that we weren’t “in Kansas anymore “

Awesome location right in the heart of everything! Surrounded by great restaurants and just a few minutes walk to Arasta Bazaar, Hagia Sophia, and the Blue Mosque. What we loved most was the freshly made gözleme every morning, gave us a real taste of authentic Turkish breakfast!

It was very clean. The staff is very hospitable and warm. The breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I ever had.

We arrived early to the hotel but we were allowed to check in early and even received a room upgrade! The front desk staff was very helpful in recommending a place to have lunch as well as directions to some attractions that were very close by. Breakfast was included and it included a variety of dishes.

Hotel location is great, walkable to many attractions and monuments, 10 min walking distance from tram. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. They gave us good advices. The view from the roof is beautiful. Rooms are clean and have all amenities. Gym is well equipped. Breakfast is average, but the lady who prepares Turkish gozleme is real asset. If not for her, we would most likely took breakfast outside. Overall, we are happy with our stay.
