Had 2 x staff members stay for the night who said it was clean and tidy, in a good location, staff were friendly, but the beds were uncomfortable and the WiFi wasn't any good for working until 10pm (maybe when everyone else got off it).

The Dunedin Palms is a great value. We spent three nights there during high season. The location is excellent -downtown and a short walk to the octagon (center of town) and only 2 blocks to the Speights brewery/pub. It's located about 1/3 of the way up a hill. But it's not that steep and was not a problem for us. We stayed in a 1 BR apartment and it was huge and very clean with lots of space. We appreciated the small kitchenette with a microwave, stovetop and coffee/tea. Weirdly, they did not provide milk (every other motel that we stayed at during our 35 trip provided milk) but we just bought some at a nearby grocery store. Free parking was a huge plus. Uber was easily accessible in the area and we took it to/from restaurants for dinner. Another big plus were the laundry facilities, $4/load to wash and $4/load to dry with complimentary laundry detergent. A few downsides: there was some noise, including a garbage truck emptying dumpsters nearby at 6am one day. There's no AC so the room stayed warm on days in the 60s. Keeping the windows open all day/night helped. Also, there was a large outdoor smoking area with tables and chairs near our room. We were concerned that it might be an issue - either smelling smoke in our room or from gatherings and noise - but it wasn't a problem during our stay. Overall, it was a great option for Dunedin and I would stay here again.

We had a good sized room with separate bedroom, enough space for a few nights. We walked down to the octagon and the Saturday market - a bit of an uphill walk back to the motel. Only criticism I have is that there is no air con although a fan was supplied. The room did get hot!

Small room. Fridge microwave but no cooking facilities. Parking could be challenging and no lift if like us you had to carry heavy cases up 4 flights of stairs but very affordable.

No soap for shower or left anywhere. Really cold when we arrived at night, and windows were all open. The office was also locked when we arrived at 5.30pm and had to wait for the lady to come down. The pull out couch had a pair of kids underwear in them so hasn't been pulled out and cleaned.

Shower head is only about 165cm from the ground and the space is small so if you are taller than this it is very difficult to shower. Water pressure was terrible.The bed sagged and was like sleeping on a trampoline...

It was close to town. The rooms were smaller than expected and only enough room for 1 person in spa bath. The bed was small and very soft and had the dip in middle. Felt like i was sleeping uphill. We were disappointed and would not stay again.

The owners/staff were very friendly and accomodating. We were upgraded with no hesitation because of an issue with our room (not a fault of the owners) Walking distance to the city and free parking on site. Approx half an hour drive from the airport. Would stay here again

We arrived at 7.15 pm on Wednesday checked out today at 8.30 am never saw a receptionist the entire time reception only open 1 pm to 7 pm what poor hours met a lovely cleaner who was able to change paper money into coins for the guest laundry a very soulless place on a road with businesses on it pictures very very deceptive imo

Disappointed with the check in. I called a week before to confirm the booking and the manager took my email address to send check in details but failed to do so. I called at 7pm to say our flight was delayed and we would arrive at 930. No answer. When we arrived we couldn’t access the lock box so called the help number which rang out 3 times and was not answered. With no option left we knocked on the managers door to be greeted by a rude and angry lady who was less than welcoming. There won’t be a next time !!

We were delayed and knew we would be arriving late so I called ahead and the manager was super helpful and arranged to leave the key and milk for us. She was also appreciate of the notice. The room was so toasty warm. TVs in all the rooms which my boys loved. Very clean and everything you could need.

Had to wait a while to check in as no one was manning the desk. Perhaps a bell or something so guests can atttract staffs attention. It was disappointing to have been allocated a disabled room considering we booked well in advance. If you were disabled the bathroom is dangerous once you have used the shower. Again like a lot of hotels in NZ there are no usb sockets and no dressing table for the ladies to use when doing their make up etc.
