Merced Hotel - Gateway to Yosemite

First off, 3 stars only cuz the staff was excellent and super friendly. It was cheap so wasn't too bad. Since they switched ownership, maybe theyre still doing renovations?? Beds were clean and comfy. However, the bathroom was a nightmare. I like a good bath when staying at a hotel. The work was shotty and the curtain rod was crooked, couldn't even get the curtain straight, so it kept falling down towards the middle. Taking a shower was a no go unless I wanted to soak the floors. No drain plug so had to use a small towel to plug drain, which was already full of someone's hair. Mold on caulking everywhere, which wasn't surprising cuz there was no vent in the bathroom! No pool/ hot rub which sucked but seems to happen at a lot of the cheaper places I stay. Property was clean and staff was fantastic. Will however not stay here again unless absolutely on a budget.

I had to book an emergency room for my daughter and staff was very helpful and understanding. Thank you!
