All was well but they assigned us an ADA room without notifying us first. We didn’t realize it until we had unpacked. Everything is vey low. Desk, sinks, chair etc. otherwise good and the restaurant and bar was convenient.

The hotel is currently undergoing “renovation” and is next to a building site - so the usual “luxury” feel is lacking. The room was noisy. Otherwise, a nice place to stay. Late check-out option was accommodated at half the room rate which is expensive but we had to take it up given a late departing flight.

The Andaz on 5th in NY is not a luxury hotel. It failed to be luxurious. Our room needed a make over; like old, stained, sofa and two ancient looking pillows. The sofa looks so dingy, that we really didn’t want to sit on it. Though the living room area is spacious, there is no rug or any details to warm up the room. Service did not replace tea mugs daily. Service did not replace water bottles daily. Service did not replace wine or snacks daily. Bedroom AC temp did not match living space temp, one was warm one was super cold. No fold down night service with fresh towels. Patio furniture was filthy. Hallway was freezing!!!! You needed a coat to walk to elevator. Cool bar? Children everywhere! Not cool. For $1300 a night, I was disappointed.

This is one of my favorite hotels in NY. The rooms can be dark, but they are very minimalist and clean. Bathrooms are incredibly spacious by NYC standards. The only downside is that they now charge an exorbitant fee for even a modest late checkout, which may make it more cost effective to stay where I have status while in the city.

Not only was it a small box of a room for two nights at 3000.00!!!!! But the couch “bed” was a once inch spring mattress. The “terrace” has zero furniture and anyone in the floor can walk it and see in your room or bathrooms!

This was our second stay at the Andaz. Great location, great living area and great terrace. The only reason i'm not giving a 5 star rating is that the room needs a bit of love to fix the damage that was done by visitors.

Concierge is unhelpful and they all seem to hate their jobs, which says a lot about the hotel’s management. Never anyone to help open a door, or offer a hand if you had extra bags. The features of the room are fine, but everything felt very dated/old. It’s a very expensive room (~$900/night) and there are so many better hotels in NYC. SKIP THIS ONE. People return to a place due to service; I won’t book here again.

There were one or two staff that were helpful. Upon checking in, one member of staff was extremely rude, obnoxious, unhelpful and condescending. When asking for extra towels, it took over an hour to arrive. Don't recommend for the price.
