Hotel was clean and very pretty. We enjoyed our stay and location was good. The corner coffee shop was an added plus each morning. Parking was $18 per night which seemed a little high. Overall it was a good value.

Parking was a bit difficult and cost $18 per night. The hotel is clearly converted from older days, with a funky small elevator. The hallway was charmingly decorated with old movie star framed portraits and there were beautiful stain glass windows and chandeliers downstairs. The coffee and sweets shop next door was a necessity because there is NO coffee or tea served at the hotel or in the rooms. We had to get dressed and go next door in the morning. Since it closes at 5 pm. No evening hot beverages available. This means I would never stay at this hotel again. I am a serious beginning and end of my day coffee drinker. The coffees and pastries next door were great, by the way!

A beautiful hotel with Wonderful and friendly people. Parking is around back & $18 a day. The hotel parking is shared with the restaurant parking so it can be a little tricky to find a spot late at night but we managed to snag one. The rooms are small but extremely clean. You can see the Hollywood sign from the window of the rooms Very small, old school 3 person elevator and nice old Hollywood charm. The area is very busy and loud (no fault of the hotel) just something to note. Car horns, loud crowds on the street all night ( I stayed on Halloween night though) I really enjoyed my stay here. The beds are super comfortable and the bar/ restaurant seemed so fun! Will definitely check it out next time I stay. Highly recommend for simple, no frills place to stay. *Something of note is there are no microwaves in the room, just a mini fridge*

Old world hotel in great condition. Amazing bar restaurant and coffee shop all in the same building. Mixologist par excellence in residence at Edmon. You must treat yourself to the skills of the chef. Beer garden and off street parking a bonus.

Hotel was cute and did whay we needed. The parking was on sitr but very tight. Its tough to maneuver and you need the attendant to guild you into the spots which are shared by the restaurant. The bar/restaurant was great and the staff were wonderful. Rooms were small and not the most accessible for outlets.

The hotel was well maintained. Convenient parking however, it could get crowded in the evening from on-site restaurant patrons. We stayed 3 nights and were able to park without a problem. A nice Cafe to get a breakfast right on site.

I LOVE THIS HOTEL!!! The front desk clerks, Johann and Robert are excellent and kind. Robert took his time to go to the corner sweet shop to break a bill so I could tip the housekeeping staff. Speaking of housekeeping, there is not one speck of dirt or dust in these rooms, not even on the top of the headboard which is a spot often overlooked and a pet peeve of mine. This is my go to hotel for any visit to LA. I highly recommend it.

Carpet powder from dollar tree? Give me a break. My room was dirty. Smelling like mold and the bath tub was dirty. BLEACH NEEDED! Dollars Tree sells Bleach.

Nice, historic property on Melrose Avenue. Close to a lot of things. The room was fine: clean with a firm, large bed. Bathroom was a bit tiny, but clean. Hallways were clean. Bakery on northwest corner of the building had very good sweets and coffee. Did not have time to try the restaurant, but the menu looked very good and lots of patrons.

Parking is not included with a stay at the hotel. One of the staff members was rude when checking in. The other member at the front desk was great though. We even considered leaving a night before our check-out since the bed was not as comfy and the room was old and not properly cleaned when first arrived.

Clean room, amazing staff, and it was good location for me and the reason I was in town. I attended a concert and it was only a mile from the venue so very convenient and Lyft ride was only $13. Special Thank you to hotel staff Michael!

i loved staying here, the front desk staff were so lovely and available 24/7 for any questions i had about getting around or recommendations for things to do for my first time in Los Angeles. it's super central so it was a breeze to get anywhere either on transit, Ubers or even just wandering. the rooms were clean and the perfect size, A/C was wonderful and the little fridge in the room for all my goodies was SO convenient. would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends visiting LA! 💛💛

The hotel was themed to old Hollywood, which I adored. The room was spacious with a great view of the city. The bathroom is a little on the small side but it got the job done. The bed was super comfy with great pillows. When I checked in, Michael was great! He talked with me about our visit and when I asked him about travel to the Hollywood Bowl, he printed out directions for my daughter and I. He was amazing! Thank you again Michael for the laughs and the directions. And yes, the "Willie Nelson" concert was amazing for my daughter!

Adorable old-style hotel with a charming lobby and pictures of old Hollywood actors. The bar is accessible through the lobby and has lots of character too. The room is old-fashioned but spacious and very clean, with lots of windows and blackout curtains, as well as a small fridge, which is convenient for fruit, water or other drinks. If you leave the windows open, it can be noisy because of traffic but with the windows closed and the AC on, you can’t hear anything. All in all, it’s a very cute and convenient hotel, within walking distance (2-3 minutes) from Paramount Pictures Studios, not far from Hollywood and very affordable.

A quaint boutique hotel. Friendly staff and great service. Loved the outdoor seating area for breakfast. Our room faced the back, overlooking the outdoor seating which was also part of the restaurant/bar which played outdoor music til late. It was ok for the weekend, but not so great when we had to get up early for our flight on Tuesday. Otherwise a great place to stay.

Central location! Centrally located to most attractions. Parking not outrageous by LA standards. Staff wonderful, rooms clean. Area around hotel is a bit run down, but is fine. Great base camp. We had issues with the WiFi the whole time which actually cost me. I know the hotel is historic but it could use renovating. Our bathroom was tiny. Would recommend for anyone who just wants a good clean place in a central location.

Basically pretty good with cleanness, location and staff. But on the 1st day they were so struct about the number of the bag they can keep in the back before check in. After we get closer, the staff got nicer. You need to be careful, they can't keep staff over 1 suitecase and 1 middle sized bag.

We loved everything about our stay here. The front desk staff, particularly Betti, were incredibly helpful, generous and kind. Betti helped us extend our stay a night and really made our trip that much better. We’ll definitely be coming back to the Hollywood Historic next time we’re in Los Angeles.

Front desk Michael and Betty were outstanding and really made our first trip to Los Angeles better than they would have been otherwise. Hotel is comfortable and historic. If you’re desiring the best and latest accomodations, this will disappoint. If you want a safe, comfortable, convenient location to tour LA with some great front desk staff, you will be pleased.

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! This hotel cancels your reservation and lies to your face about it. I arrived past 10pm and I'm told that whoever I booked the hotel with canceled it due to incorrect cvv number. I knew right away the person was lying because you are not able to book a room if cvv is incorrect. He then says, we do not have any other rooms available. I was so upset. Had to find another hotel late at night. Do not stay at this hotel!

From the moment we walked in, we were met by the beautiful Betty, who was a sweet angel for our entire stay! She was sweet and kind and gave us many helpful tips about where to eat, where to park, and what to do. The hotel was clean, nice, and spacious. Lots of places to eat everywhere. Very helpful staff. Loved it and will definitely stay here again!

The hotel is a short walk from a bus stop making it fairly easy to get to a metro station or plenty of the restaurant strip malls along Western Ave. For a 3-star hotel, it's very good value for the cost of the room and sensible location if you're okay using the bus.

The property is beautiful and clean. The check in was on time. The service great. No breakfast at the property. The only inconvenience I found was the limited places to eat around the property. Also to go to the attractions like Walk of Fame and Griffith Observatory you need a car, no walking distance.

Great location for out of towners going to the Hollywood Bowl; easy drive to remote parking lots and walking up the hill to get there. The hotel was quiet and the staff was friendly. We paid for the parking and that was helpful to have available to us.

This hotel was a nice find. Conveniently located with historic charm. Rate was very reasonable. Convenient and reasonably priced monitored parking lot in rear. We arrived early on day of check-in and we were allowed to leave our bags until we checked -in. The nice coffee shop next door was recommended where we refreshed before taking the short way to Paramount Studios for a wonderful tour. Many choices for food around the hotel, including the attached restaurant/bar where we had fantastic drinks. Across the Street and down the block was a great Filipino restaurant Kuya Lord. Winchell's donuts was on street over. Our room was super clean and towels refreshed daily. Our room had a great view of the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory which was a really nice surprise. Complimentary water bottles were provided. No hotel breakfast but don't normally take advantage of that. At the lobby desk were Betty and Johan (Michael). They were so friendly and helpful. Thank you Betty for all the food and drink suggestions! Only note for those requiring absolute quiet, our room faced Melrose St which had some traffic noise. Didn't bother us but might for those sensitive to that. The location was close to all the site seeing we did in LA and Hollywood. Would definitely return here next time around!

This is a lovely boutique hotel in a great location. Service was excellent, from the front desk staff to those cleaning our room. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The room is a generous size. Bed is firm. Bathroom is a tad small. Lovely bar restaurant next door and sweets/coffee just 2 doors down.

Amazing hotel right on Melrose. It's south of the walk of fame, actually right below where Paramount studios end which allows for a quite sleep. Amenities are top notch and the restaurant downstairs is delicious. They did an excellent job of retaining the historical pieces (bathtub, doors) but added modern convivences and decor.

Checking on a Sunday at check in time. Was looking forward to the bar and food they have in the hotel after out long drive. It was CLOSED, closes on Sundays. Super bummer

Had a lovely few days at the Historic Hollywood Hotel, a spacious, light corner bedroom with a very comfortable bed. My only gripe and it doesn’t mention this on the website (only the separate site for the restaurant) is that we couldn’t use the restaurant or the outside garden because my daughter is 19 and it is only for over 21! So we didn’t use those facilities. Parking is $16 a night, didn’t have an issue parking, the onsite valet takes care of this. No breakfast onsite, you use the Sweet Corner Bakery, I’m not sure where they get the $4-7 take away price from, it’s a bit more than that, but the cream cheese bagels were good!

Beautiful Historical Hotel. Loved the elevators. The restaurant was outstanding and the historic decor in the restaurant and Hotel was SUPERIOR. Will definitely recommend this hotel and restaurant to family and friends. Never received a Welcone basket/gift.

A beautiful hotel! I loved everything about it. The windows open and have screens for fresh air. The bedding was nice and bed was comfy. The attached restaurant and bar offered delicious food and unique cocktails. Service was attentive and sharp. On the corner you’ll find a sweetshop with coffee and pastries. I took mine back and sat out in the open courtyard of a morning. Totally enjoyed my stay and will return.
