Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fitzpatrick Castle. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good facilities in our room. The tv has Netflix so you can log on with your account details. There is an excellent variety at breakfast. If you intend to use the pool you will need to wear a swimming cap. You must wear a swimming cap in a public pools including hotels. They do sell them at the hotel. I would highly recommend Fitzpatrick’s.

My husband and I booked a sea view room for a week. The check in process was easy and smooth. Our room was a smaller size but had a nice balcony and view of the sea. The bathroom is very small - only one of us could comfortably be in there at a time. The housekeeping kept the room stocked with coffee and water when service requested. There is a pickle ball court on site which people play until 9-10pm which can be heard from the room if you have your window open. There is also a club on site for people to have their fitness classes which makes the parking lot fill up quickly. I did not think to check but the hotel does not have A/C - heat only. Made the room hot at night even in October.

Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel was a dream stay! For starters the parking lot is extremely big, and has ample space for parking. Then on to the interior which was beautifully decorated. The concierge was welcoming, friendly and informative. The hotel rooms were extremely spacious and clean, perfect for our family of four. The restaurant was high quality and high class. The pool was the perfect temperature and very big. We enjoyed everything about our stay!!! It definitely felt like home away from home. The little center of Dalkey, nearby, had everything you need, from a small grocery to some great restaurants. Try DeVille’s and the Coliemore, you won’t be disappointed. If I only had one negative comment, it was a bit of a drive from Dublin city center and due to speed bumps in the area you had to drive slower. We did a lot in Dublin, so make sure you leave with ample time to get there. I must say though, this can also be a positive for those looking to rest and relax. It was a very safe and quiet area. Would definitely recommend.

We liked our large comfortable room. It was serviced every day. The grounds were gorgeous. Front desk staff very helpful. Breakfast was great served in a lovely environment and John the breakfast concierge was wonderful. He gave us excellent service and kept things running smoothly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. What could have been better was the service in the tea lounge. It was erratic and not attentive. We had to wait 30 minutes after ordering a scone and had to ask for it. Wait staff was running all over and no follow through. Food was served lukewarm. My husband ordered a 39 euro steak in the restaurant and it was served without any vegetables, just fries. We didn't eat there after that. We loved the hotel and enjoyed the hot tub and steam area. That area could have been cleaner. The slippery tiles were dangerous. Non slip tiles would be safer. We will be back as on the whole we loved our stay with you.

Pool area changing rooms pretty dirty. Policy dealing with noisy guests not good enough. We moved rooms at 1am. Having being told the problem guests were being asked to leave.only to see them at breakfast.apologies arent enough. Stricter enforcement is needed

I mentioned to the reception that the smell of food in the main lounge is overwhelmingly unpleasant. I have seen people dropping food and spilling drinks. The carpet needs to be deep cleaned on a regular basis. The upholstery too. I am sure the level of bacteria is way above what is permitted. Walking from the bar to the lounge the smell hits you like a brick wall!

Good size room. Very comfortable bed and fine size bathroom. Robes & slippers, Coffee machine etc. Staff friendly. Food and wine list good, but way over. priced. Asked for help with heating and light repair twice and it never happened. Bar was not clean. Tables grubby and bar snacks all over the floor.. Nice area for country village walks. Nice building and grounds.

The Fitzpatrick Castle Hotel is a historic building with hotel rooms in a somewhat dated, newer extension. Our standard twin room wasn't very large, but it was clean and furnished with two small armchairs and a table. The bathroom had a bathtub—accessible via a small staircase—that you could also shower in, albeit very cramped and not without flooding parts of the room. The room and bathroom were clean, the reception staff were very friendly, and parking was free. Overall, not a luxury, but a decent overnight stay, which we would definitely repeat if necessary.

The hotel lobby was charming and welcoming, as were the staff (very friendly). Overall, it’s a wonderful, historic hotel. But it wasn’t a perfect stay, by any means. The beds were horribly uncomfortable. The room, while incredibly spacious, was in need of a renovation (or at least a deep clean, with peeling wallpaper in places and mildew stains in the bathroom tile grout). The pool/sauna/steam room was amazing (very nice facility), but the family swimming hours were very poorly scheduled and meant that if our children wanted to swim, we couldn’t realistically leave the hotel until noon. Good fun if you just want to relax at a resort, but not ideal if you’re sightseeing. Combined with the rock-hard beds and shapeless pillows, this stay could have been better. Still, for an adult or couple without children, this would be a good option (as long as you’re happy to sleep on a mattress that feels like plywood with pillows harder than sandbags). New beds, comfortable pillows, some lipstick on the room itself and some changes to the pool hours to better allow guests to both use the amenities and see the sights, and this place would be truly exceptional. These are all easy fixes, so fingers crossed.

The hotel really needs to remodel the entire building. Everything is dated and old. The bathroom was remodeled and nice, although the vanity was so high, it was difficult to use. The mattresses were old and too soft. There was no air conditioning in the room and the fan available did not work. The location is great, the building just needs some love.

Lovely hotel, great location for those wanting a more reserved and relaxed experience. Bedroom was clean and spacious, the view from the balcony was amazing — and so was the view from Killiney/Dalkey hill just behind the hotel, so don’t skip that. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful as well, would definitely come back!

Nice renovated rooms. Spacious. Service was very polite and friendly but kept forgetting items in the order or had to follow up multiple times on requests. Heat in the room was really good. Breakfast was basic. Not worth the price I think. But the waitstaff was very courteous and friendly

Room was spacious. Hospitality was top notch. There was an unfortunate event. We had to evacuate due to a water leak and was without electricity/water for part of the night, however, the hotel agreed to refund the night and make things right. Would recommend anyone to stay here. We will definitely be coming back! 10/10

I was nervous booking this space as I am 17 weeks pregnant and gluten free. The staff was beyond accommodating and kind. The village just twenty minutes walk from the hotel is stunning and the hiking in the area is easy and breathtaking. We will definitely be returning when our daughter arrives!

The majority of the place was amazing. The restaurant at the bottom, Mappas, was not. The food was ok, but a lot of times when we ordered room service it was cold. When we went to the restaurant we weren’t even offered water without having to ask for it. That part has room for improvement. Everything else about the hotel was pretty amazing.

Clean room. Staff was nice. However if you make a modification to your reservation they will tell you that you’re all set, but will still charge you the initial full price. We changed our stay from 3 days to 2. They’ll smile to your face but will refuse to issue refunds after telling you everything is fine. We will not be staying here again.

The people that work at this hotel are fantastic! Friendly and wanting to care to your every need. I would definitely stay here again, it made our trip to Ireland much better in many ways. I would also like to thank them for having our room ready when we arrived from an overnight flight and weren’t scheduled to check in until afternoon, it was right on time because we were exhausted.

In a wonderful area that is very quiet. The staff was so very friendly. The park nearby offers some great hiking/walking adventures. We loved it. Would definitely stay again. We read somewhere that is was a 3 minute walk from the Dalkey Station, which is inaccurate, but was walkable. Wouldn't really want to do it again dragging luggage along. Easy enough for day trips to and from the station. The 59 bus has a stop right outside the property as well.

This was a wonderful stay. The rooms are beautiful, the beds are comfortable, the grounds are gorgeous, and the staff could have not been more lovely. I highly recommend this hotel. It is close to Dublin but far enough way to feel away from the city. The charming little village of Dulkey is right up the road as is Killiney Hill- both highly recommended as well!

Nice place overall. Unique hotel with great features like the dungeon bar and library lounge, plus the Mapas restaurant was really good. Nice view of Dublin bay from the hotel. If you stay here it’s about 30 minutes drive to downtown so car is needed, although I’m sure transit is available but we drove so it’s pretty easy. We did an (princess) afternoon tea for our daughter in the main lounge, and was quite happy with it. Reasonable prices for everything, I highly recommend this place as an alternative to staying downtown and it is a castle after all.

This was a fantastic place to stay for us while we explored Dublin. It’s a bit out of town which made it quiet but accessing it through public transit was easy enough. The village of Dalkey nearby was also great to explore. The staff were friendly and the amenities were great. Lots of food options at the hotel itself and pricing was reasonable and on par with other nearby options. We found this place more by accident rather than searching for it and were very happy with the outcome. Only downside was no AC but it also wasn’t needed given location and climate. Our 4 night stay was great and the room was huge with super comfy beds.

Arrived for a 1 night stay with family. After a 6.30pm checkin it was literally impossible to get food in any of the bars or restaurants...a staff member even recommended we go elsewhere. Reverted to room service and turned out the menu in the room was not the correct one and the kitchen was serving another menu...bizarre. on the upside, breakfast next morning was very good.

From the weekend pizza to the afternoon tea all of the food as well as banquet food. All of the food in the hotel was awesome. The staff was super friendly and very helpful and any question that we had I would definitely recommend and return to Fitzpatrick Caso Hotel.

The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Decor is a little dated as is some of the room furniture. Had lunch in the lobby and this was great, you certainly wouldn't go hungry! Breakfast buffet was pretty good, only issue I had was that the eggs (Scrambled / Fried) were both well over cooked. Although to be fare that could just have been timing as it was the end of the both of those dishes, and they were getting ready to replenish them. I would certainly stay thier again.
