Likes: The rooms were cute and quaint. I liked that we had a little kitchen to cook and eat in if we wanted to do so. They provided a lot of mini shampoos and soaps, which most hotels don't even do these days. The staff was friendly and courteous. The pool was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable to sleep in. The shower was powerful instead of weak. Dislikes: There wasn't a lot of space between where the bed came out and the kitchen entry. I had to squeeze through each time. The mat that goes into the bathtub so you don't slip was stained. The air conditioner was really loud and would come on at random times during the night. The wifi didn't work that well. It would have trouble connecting in certain parts of the room.

Always clean and quiet there we absolutely love the swimming pool...

The Hyland is clean, quiet, and has the biggest motel pool in the area! I’m a lap swimmer and it’s great to swim laps here!

Beautiful grounds, comfortable outdoor seating

Convenient location to shops, restaurants and beaches. Clean and comfortable rooms, nice pool area with picnic tables and grills.

This property is right off of the Garden State Parkway and close to Stone Harbor, but they don't offer beach tags. The room was adequate, but it hasn't been updated in MANY years. There was white duct tape to cover chipped paint on the trim. The kitchen was barely stocked. The coffee maker had mold in it, so we couldn't use it. The ice machine was broken. We didn't use the pool, but it looked lovely.

They definitely need to remove the weeds from the flower beds in front of our room. They were over 2 ft tall and spilled into the elevated sidewalk. Lots of bugs and spiders in the mess.

Nice place to stay for a short getaway. I like the area because it is wooded and quiet. I felt safe there. The room isn't luxorious, but was sufficient for a nights stay with family. Convenient to shopping and food. Nice pool and grill and firepit area. The only thing wrong was the air conditioner was loud.

Stayed for one night to attend a party. I understood this was not a full service hotel. However, the only two soda machines on the property did not work. I can see one, but both of them? Unacceptable

Clean and worth the price off season!

The smell in room was unbearable. Carpets were very stained and worn.

Clean, comfortable. Bed was made daily by housekeeping! Room was kept clean and tidy. Vizio Smart TV available in room with good internet access. Room climate control was also good.

We were visiting family who lived just minutes away so convenience was the best reason for staying here. We are used to staying at nice hotels so this felt like a step down but the motel was very clean and the staff was very nice. Although the motel is dated the room was plenty big with a full size fridge, microwave, coffee pot, recliner, desk with two chairs and vanity with a chair. Water pressure was great in the shower and had complimentary shampoos, lotion, and soap. There is plenty of food and shopping options in the area. We will definitely stay here again when in town.

I saw the condition of the room and handed back the room keys, bathroom smelled clean but didn’t trust. The bed sheets had red and yellow stains, plus hair. Pillow casings were old and discolored almost looking gray.

Stayed here twice. Most recently woke up to rodent droppings on the tables and desk in the room. room was extremely musty smelled of mold. Bedding was wet due to the moisture in the room. Cut our stay two days short due to these issues and have not been reimbursed. Desk said they couldn’t since I used Expedia. Not the most fancy hotel and you get what you pay for but no excuse for those conditions.

Nice, cheap and clean place to stay close to the beach!

Second year coming down. Honestly not too much to complain about. Clean and safe place to stay. You’re 15 minutes away from all the major beaches in the Cape May County. Staff are very friendly and helpful!! If I had a concern they address is promptly! Off-season is where this hotel shines. The prices make sense here not during the summer. The inside is mostly renovated and could be updated more. But for the price in September CANT complain! Will be back next year!

Mold in bathroom. Mold smell, no ventilation. Windows locks broken-which is unsafe

Bathroom was very dirty as well as the floor. I spilled some water and went to clean it up only to find my papertowel BLACK!! Filthy!!

The Inn is old and showing its age. On the plus side: low priced and convenient to most Jersey shore attractions, staff was good, room was clean with a full-size refrigerator. On the negative side; musty smells in the bathroom, bed way too soft, shower had a weak stream, AC was the window type and noisy, and one morning had a 2-inch slug on the shower floor.

There is nothing fancy about the Hyland, but it is perfect for a little getaway. A short drive to the beach and shopping. I like the change to laminate floors, made the room smell and feel cleaner. The beds are just okay, but perfect for our needs. It was quiet even though it is adjacent to Parkway. We did not use the pool although it is dated, it was clean.

Over all was a good stay.. had a 2 night stay.. room was nice. Room was clean. Only issue was the king size mattress with 2 people totally about 300lbs. Kept ending up in the middle of the bed due to lack of support .. The MATTRESS seem to be in NEED OF REPLACEMENT. Staff was nice. For the price I would recommend this location. BE PREPARED for a additional $50.00 fee .. they require when you arrive before you are able to stay. Fee is towards any damages or theft of anything from INN. ( CHECK your CC if you were charged this additional fee.).. fee was not disclosed prior to booking.

Room was clean, couldn’t go to the pool on Saturday do to property being mowed and dust and debris going everywhere. Outside of property is run down a bit, could use a little updating. Staff was very nice, unfortunately the people we shared a common door were quite rude with slamming their door all night and day.

This was... a shame, honestly. The rooms haven't been renovated in like 40-50 years, the carpet is stained all over, there is a dirty phone in the room that probably dates back from the '80s, the bed is so springy that as soon as you turn around, the partner jumps a foot in the air... This would all be all right if the price was accordingly, in the 80-120$ range, but I paid over 400CAD for that night! This so much of a steal, that I cannot find words for it. The most incredible thing, however, is this : I came back at around 10PM to the room, but for some reason, the card was not magnetized anymore. So I went to reception, but there was no one there. A small hand written sign was taped on the door, with a phone number to call for assistance. A lady answered, and while she listened to me, she stated that there was nothing that she could do as she was working somewhere else, and couldn't come before 11h30PM, as she finishes her other work at 11hPM. I was with a young child, but nope, there was nothing to be done. Not assistance what so ever. (My son is the one that found the solution by licking the card and try it, which worked for only one time!) AVOID at all cost. Really, don't go there,

Clean room friendly staff quiet, though its next to the highway.

The properly was very dated. It needed some updates in the worst way. the room was clean and no bugs. the bed pilllows were SOOO HORRIBLE. flat and hard as a rock. we went and bought pillows. The only reason i picked this place was because the pictures had carpet in the rooms. I have a handicapped son in a wheelchair and i needed the carpet. when we got there, there was no carpets and the room wasn't as pretty as the pictures. I dont know if i will stay here again in future but the room was clean.

The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The pool looked great but I did not use it. A few of the electrical outlets were worn to the point where they wouldn't hold a plug so charging my electronics became a challange. Also, there wasn't a Do Not Disturb sign for the door.

Thogh an old building the actual room was spacious and well appointed. Bathroom good, towels old and tired. Windows dirty. A good choice for value only 10 minute drive from the Beach!

Staff goes over and beyond to be accommodating. We were in from out of state for a family funeral and they allowed us to check in early. We asked that our rooms be close, and they put us next door to each other. The rooms were clean and fresh smelling. Staff very friendly. We stay here whenever we are in town.

Lock on our room was not functioning, it was not safe. Night check in person was extremely rude when we requested assistance. We checked out immediately and had to find lodging elsewhere. Terrible experience.

We have stayed at Hyland Motor Inn numerous times. The staff from check in to cleaning were friendly and helpful. Always clean, well stocked with towels and bathroom amenities. Highly recommend!

Family friendly great staff

The property was very run down with old beds and even older sheets!! We had a 2 night reservation and only stayed one night. In the middle of the first night the smoke alarm began going off. It went off every half hour so we got no sleep. There was no staff there to help during the night and when someone finally took down the alarm, they didn't care at all that we were inconvenienced. Then we had a giant spider on the bed and we were pretty much done with the place at that point. When I spoke with the front desk person she basically said, oh well! They were not going to refund any of my money. Terrible way to do business. We felt like we were at the Bates Motel!!

Convenient and easy access

I needed something affordable, for one night only, and not too far from my brother’s place in Cape May. The Hyland met my needs perfectly. My room was clean and roomy and access to The Parkway was simple.

There is nothing fancy about the Hyland, but it is perfect for a little getaway. A short drive to the beach and shopping. I like the change to laminate floors, made the room smell and feel cleaner. The beds are just okay, but perfect for our needs. It was quiet even though it is adjacent to Parkway. We did not use the pool although it is dated, it was clean.

Just 12 minutes to Stone Harbor. Great value.

Easy enough to get to right off the highway. Staff nice no issues wish it was a little more updated.

Room was spacious. Contained one king bed, full refrigerator, large screen TV and a work/computer space. Very convenient, located just off Exit 10 on NJ Parkway. Stay two days.

Older property just off the Garden State Parkway and two blocks off Route 9. Restaurants and shopping nearby. Within 1/2 hour to Cape May and Wildwood. Room was ample and clean, no complaints. Direct TV in room.

The location is very convenient. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. The extra pillows were appreciated. The price was right.

Hyland Motor Inn is a clean, neat budget motel 10 minutes from the Stone Harbor beaches. The outdoor pool was still open the weekend of Sept.19, 2025! The water temp was “refreshing!” The staff is very welcoming and very kind.

The motel was quiet. The room was clean and attractive. The breakfast could have been better. Nevertheless, I would stay there again.

This is a nice family place to stay for weekend.the efficiency room had two beds, couch, kitchen area bathroom etc...Perfect for family of 5. The price was right and staff was friendly. There is a nice pool. We door dashed breakfast, went to beach,boardwalk, and had nice dinner at the beach in wildwood. We didn't need fancy just great family weekend getaway!thank you

This was our first trip to the area. We were greeted by the motels manager and she was amazing and accommodating. We had been switched to this motel due to a pipe burst at another motel and this was truly a blessing!! This was not only a fantastic location at the beach...the pool and rooms and all areas were clean and welcoming. The staff was polite and friendly. We ate at the on site restaurant and food was delicious and affordable! We will be back for sure!!!! 5 STARS

Warm & dry on this cold, rainy day. It had actually china coffee cups & saucers.

Nice clean room. Large refrigerator, microwave,coffee maker. Wifi and cable tv good. Would stay there again.
