The staff here were great and the location was convenient if going to Acadia and you want to stay somewhere less crowded than Bar Harbor. The breakfast the hotel provides is convenient and the gym is good enough to get a decent workout. They advised they clean the room every other day which was fine; however, they never ended up cleaning it. We had dirty towels piling up and we advised the front desk. They gave us clean towels and told us to put the dirty ones outside our door. Also, the humidity in our room was insane. We almost slipped and fell numerous times on the tile in the bathroom and entrance way to the room due to so much condensation being on the tile. We tried adjusting the temperature of the room and it did not help. There is no fan in the bathroom which didn’t help the situation. While I appreciated the staff, location and amenities, I don’t think I would stay here again based on the room.

We love going Downeast! This hotel makes everything easy to reach and makes for a restful gathering point. The pool and hot tub were welcoming. Although he pool is a little small, it was not crowded. Breakfast was good and the coffee fresh. The staff really make the place the best it can be!

Pros: very clean throughout, inside indoor pool and workout room, wonderful food service staff: Shaunda and Jacqueline were both courteous, accommodating and wonderful to talk to, convenient location - right across from local grocery store and fast foods, right off of highway, onsite coin-op laundry - very convenient. Cons: the front desk staff didn’t really check in throughout the stay - twice by company texting messages sent out of 12 nights I stayed (other Hampton locations, everyday or every other day by least) I recall sheets being changed once (on first Friday), didn’t have complementary waters available in the room, front desk staff didn’t greet except two individuals during the stay.

The room was spacious and very clean. The bed mattress was very comfortable and we felt very good every morning and well rested. The hotel welcomes pets and has a huge walking area for the dogs. Overall a very pleasant stay.

From the minute we arrived the lady at the desk was fantastic. Very pleasant and helpful. The room was very clean. We accidentally booked when there was tournaments going on so lots of kids but the the staff kept it quiet and pleasant for sleeping. We were unable to use the hot tub as it needed to be cleaned and brought back to temp and by then too many people in pool area. The breakfast was delicious and restocked nicely. We would definitely stay again and recommend to friends.

Our only reason for staying here was so the kids could enjoy the pool. It was freezing cold and the "hot" tub wasnt much warmer than the pool. Found a used band aid in the nightstand drawer which i understand some things are overlooked. Beds were comfy but pillows not so much. The hotel is undergoing a remodel so hopefully on our next stay things will be better.

Great location if you are going to Acadia. However our room had a really bad stench - we reported to front desk n requested air freshener. They came back with Lysol instead ! So we sprayed that n probably inhaled most of it. Didn’t really dull the smell. I would not stay here again as I can’t tolerate that smell - had a headache for 2 straight days !

My expectations with Hampton Inns have always been above average. This time I was disappointed! The 1st evening we were welcomed & greeted warmly. The 2nd evening, on our return to the hotel our room had not been touched, no housekeeping services were done. The hotel specified housekeeping would be done every other day. After a call was placed to the front desk, a very nice young lady brought up towels & washcloths. The same info was shared with the hotel, no return reply was received. For the cost of travel these days, again my expectations were definitely higher.

Room was spacious, clean, and most importantly very cool with super powerful air conditioning. Great location, free parking onsite and having a pool and hot tub are all excellent too. The property overall feels very new or at the least recently updated. Our only small complaint: housekeeping is done every other day; we were there for three days and never got it.

Spotless room and common areas.Courteous front desk staff allowed us to check in early and even textes to make sure we didnt need anything. Comfy bed, smart TV with Apple TV for streaming your home movies. Close to food, shops, LL Bean Outlet. Perfect central location for our drives to East Blue Hill.

Wow!!!! This hotel is VERY nice!!! I don't know if it is new or just very well kept but it is super clean and very well maintained. Housekeeping has done a fantastic job with everything from bed-making to bathroom cleaning and beyond. It's quiet and the beds and pillows are so comfy. The lady who checked us in was incredibly friendly. She offered us our choice of floors to stay on and everything. We are still here as I write this and seriously the only bad things I can think to say is it smells really bad outside but thats not the hotels fault and sometimes I can feel it when people slam their room doors but that's something that happens everywhere we have been pretty much.

Hotel was updated enough, clean, and comfortable. Rooms were spacious and the bathroom was huge. Room had a mini fridge, microwave, and desk which I found very convenient. The pool and hot tub were a great option to relax after a day out or to let the kids burn off some energy. Both were clean but could use some updating maintenance. The Continental breakfast was a highlight for my family. Not only was it a money saver and time saver, it was actually really good. There was a selection of juices, flavored waters, milks, and coffee. There was a waffle station with a plain waffle batter and a second batter that changed daily. There was an oatmeal station, yogurt selection, cereal selection, pastry and bread selection, and an egg/meat choice that changed daily. The hotel is right across from a grocery store, several restaurants (chains and local), and a 5 minute drive to Walmart. Very convenient if traveling as a family. It was also only about a half hour to Bar Harbor and Acadia with traffic. I'd definitely stay here again and I'd recommend it.

Great staff. Impressive breakfast selection each morning with good variety. Coffee all day was nice touch. Room was clean, well lit. Big tv. Love that the animals were allowed and I didn’t have to sneak the cat in. The only negative worth mentioning is there aren’t any dressers in the room. No storage for your clothes. Besides the small closest with 1 high shelf, you will have to live out your suitcase. I pretty much wear the same thing every day so it didn't matter much to me.

Room was clean and comfy. Nighttime staff was amazing! Very customer oriented and accommodating. I noticed daytime staff seemed to be too busy to acknowledge us, but the night crew more than made up for it! Lots of delicious restaurants within a 15 drive from hotel. Was there for a 3 night stay/long wknd. Would definitely stay again!

Dont ever prebook a room through expida because the un knowlelged staff will have you being charged twice in odd incremints and even though was there fault say its not it was an error. I called day after when i realized i was charged twice because the person at front didnt know what he was doing and now after talking to one rep said it would be looked into nothing happend. Spoke to the asst manager who played it off the same melinda and Teena if you do stay and have issues wish you luck because they do not care that theyre holding your income up for 2 -3 weeks. They appreciate your business

What a lovely hotel! The staff are fantastic--so kind and welcoming and so accommodating! The woman who checked us in went above and beyond, getting milk for our daughter and even giving our children the sweetest little stuffed animals. The pool and hot tub were lovely and the room is great. Excellent property and really fantastic service!!!!!!

We stayed here 2 nights on our visit to Bar Harbor. There was virtually nothing available in Bar Harbor itself. This hotel while clean and nice, was about a 30 min trek to Bar Harbor and Acadia so we left for the day and didn’t come back until late evening each day.

Nice clean hotel with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Far enough away from bar harbor craziness but also an easy drive downtown and to the park. Walgreens right across the street if you need anything urgently. Great stay.

Our stay at this Hampton Inn was relaxing. This hotel was super clean! The staff were pleasant and helpful. It took us approximately 17 minutes to drive to Acadia National Park. The hotel is across the street from 2 grocery stores. There are lots of restaurants close by.

Firstly, the big positive for this hotel was the staff. Everybody was super friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is quite tired and dated, the photos on the websites were obviously taken a long time ago! So don't expect it be as nice as that in real life. The location is great for Acadia, although Ellsworth itself is just one big strip map so if you'd prefer a cute New England town then best to look elsewhere. The big downside of this hotel and the reason I've only given it 3/5 was the lack of environmental awareness. Food wasn't great at breakfast (very limited choices and nothing tasted that great) but the biggest issue was the single use plastics and lack of recycling (everybody was just chucking it all in the standard garbage). In most countries, plastic straws/cutlery etc have been banned for this reason. The US is behind the times in a lot of environmental practices, but this hotel was particularly bad. Every fork/spoon/knife was wrapped individually in plastic, so bad for the environment. Come on Hilton, do your bit for sustainability and for goodness sake, get some proper cutlery and plates instead of plastic crap that will end up in landfill!

Staff were kind and even had stuffed otters to give to my sons at the front desk. Breakfast packs were provided for the hikers who left the hotel to catch sunrises before the breakfast area opened up - very considerate. Thanks for everything!

The breakfast was excellent with a variety of choices of hot and cold items. I liked the coffee and tea available all day, as well. Everyone was very pleasant to us from our arrival, a little early, to our departure the next morning.
