Katahdin Inn is undergoing refurbishment, but this did not affect our stay in our room, which was comfortable. The lobby had an interesting layout. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only difficulty was getting to the parking area. There is a great need for resurfacing the drive. It had some ruts that needed filling in. Nice indoor pool.

There was no cable at this hotel. Website says there is but there isn’t. Shower was clean but to get the soap out of the dispenser you will be waiting a while a tiny little drop comes out. Staff were nice. Hot tub was down and they are doing work at the hotel.

Something happened with my reservation here with my bank and a 3rd party app. So my reservation got canceled. I called the hotel and Cory answered and was very understanding and very helpful. I thought I was roomless over 1000 miles from home but he saved the day. He blocked a family suite so when we arrived it would be avaliable for us to check in. He didn't rush us and told us take our time and recommended places to eat on the way to the hotel. Our original room got booked due to the app cancelation but he put us in a room nearby identical just wasn't pool side. After our first night he moved us into the room we wanted for the rest of our stay. This hotel is under current renovation adding a bar and a food menu. Cory made us some chicken to try that he plans to put in the menu and it was fantastic! Rooms were very clean and comfortable. All staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return in the future. The owners of this hotel are very lucky to have Cory. He goes above and beyond to ensure you have a wonderful stay. The breakfast is good. They have a pancake machine thats really cool to watch work. They also have pool tables to play on and a few arcade machines that we enjoyed. The swimming pool was a touch chilly at first but once you got used to it you were good. This area is hikers climbers and bikers dream come true. I cant wait to go back!

Hot tub not working, says cable tv, but no tv at all. Pool had a ring around the edge, so obviously not cleaned in awhile. Front desk curtain was down, nobody was there when I went down. Couldnt call as there was no phone in the rooms. Breakfast was either cereal or pancakes.

The property is under construction. You walk in and find the pool is located in the lobby. The hot tub is closed and the entire place looks like a construction site. Carpet remnants layed down over old flooring, dirty, dusty with building supplies layed out everywhere and the "heated pool" is cold. There was a sign on the door explaining that the cable payment didnt go through and apologized for lack of cable tv. You drive through a parking lot to find the building located behind a family dollar and tractor supply. The room itself was although outdated and run down, acceptably clean.

This hotel was okay. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was fairly comfortable. It was nice having a microwave and refrigerator. The outside looks run down. The pool is in the large open lobby. The hot tub was not working. Carpet needs to be tacked down, but they are under going renovations. The young man who checked us in needs to be a bit more welcoming. He definitely didn’t care we were there and it appeared he was entertaining friends. Needs to realize how his attitude impacts guests. Breakfast was extremely basic carbs. Would have loved some protein options. The location was convenient. Driveway and parking lot desperately need repair.

They are remodeling the lobby and it is looks so good has the pool, the game area and they are getting ready to open the hot tub along with a bar area. We got there at noon I went in to ask if they has brochures for the area we needed something to pass time while we waited for check in at 3pm, I said unless our room os ready now and we could check in early that would be amazing. The guy said noone had been in our room & went to make sure it was clean. We went up to our room it looked amazing full bath jacuzzi in room king bed. Cable was down so we couldnt watch tv, jacuzzi was dirty went down to get cleaner and cleaned it myself and mattress was very uncomfortable. But we would stay again hoping we could watch the tv next time and jacuzzi is clean where I brought it to their attention. It is very quiet.

If you are just coming out of Baxter Park, this may be your only option. Our room was decently clean, but the hallways and laundry area appear to have not been cleaned for several days. No one was attending the front desk, and 2 of the pool tables ($2/game) had missing balls. The pool and hot tub are closed, and half of the gym equipment is in the gym; the other half is located outside the door to the gym in the lobby.

Pool was gross (cloudy and many floating hairballs). Weird vibe. People loitering outside but was a ghost town inside. Place hadn’t been vacuumed. Under construction. Mold in shower corners. Breakfast was good. Bed was OK and ours was clean - thankfully.

The room itself was clean and the beds were clean as well. The bathroom had a lot of hair on the floor as if it had not been vacuumed or washed. The actual bathroom was clean. Everything was great except for the bathroom floor!

This property is suffering from TMS. (Tired Motel Syndrome.) Its owners should not give up, but it will take a lot more work to restore the place. The exterior looks like a Soviet-era prison. The parking lot and driveway could be on the road to Murmansk. (I’ve been to places with worse winters. Climate is no excuse.) The lobby is weird. Exercise machines next to the easy chairs and caution tape around the pool. The hallways are redolent with the odor of sewage spills, the security lock on the door is broken and the wall around the air conditioner is rotting… All signs of lack of attention to detail. On the plus side: Clean and new linens and towels. Adequate house keeping IN the room. And When the only elevator broke, the staff made sure to get it fixed quickly. Not the worst accommodations ever, but certainly not the best.

Some quick things. This hotel is doing renovations so I understand things are a work in progress. However this place needs a massive dehumidifier. Everything felt wet. Our pillows, sheets, floors, everything. We had books in the hotel and had to take them outside because they literally were warping. Nothing ever dried even towels. The air condition could not keep up so it was even a little hot. It felt like Florida in there.

Not clean under the process of renovation. Smelled like someone died on the 3rd floor. Lead to believe from adds that it was clean and respectable. We would like our money back for the second night because we had another commitment.

My experience was really mixed. The room was fine; it was clean and the shower and bathroom worked okay. However, there was no cable and internet was pretty spotty throughout the building --- there was none in the room. I used the laundry facilities and I had to clean them because they were pretty gross. There was ample parking, and the breakfast opened at 4 am which was great for an early start for hiking. However, on another morning when we were not hiking early, most of the fresh food (bagels) was gone at 8 am. Seems like the hotel needs a major refresh. Also, the lobby was in a state of disarray -- maybe some remodeling going to happen??

I realize there is very little choice for accomodations in this area. It was a quiet stay but could have been much nicer. The wifi was extremely weak in our room on the third floor. There were some renovations underway in the lobby which made for an unkempt appearance upon arrival. The "quadruple room" with two double beds was slightly dated but included a mini fridge and microwave. Half of the outlets were unusable as plugs would be so loose as to fall from the socket. The window, which probably wasn't meant to open at all only opened a mere inch. There was 24-hour coffee, hot cocoa, and a few fruit juices. The continental breakfast served from 6am (with a little wiggle room for the Katahdin hikers) was delightful with fresh fruit, pastries and an interesting pancake robot! Don't be fooled as I was with their boasting an arcade, there are two video game cabinets and an unwinnable claw machine. I can't say I was at all disappointed, but can't say I would recommend this property.

I needed a place to stay before hiking, just a bed that was not my car.. and I honestly may have gotten more sleep if I slept in my car. Pros -- To start, yes the facility is oddly set up in the lobby and under construction, but as a hiker who arrived around 8pm and left by 4am, didn't care about this. What I did care about was the cleanliness of the room. The room was clean, except for some surfaces that could have used some attention, but bedding was clean, bathroom was clean. Cons -- HOWEVER - I got about 2 hours of sleep before hiking all day. First - I understand it's a Saturday night, but the sheer amount of door slamming until around 12:30-1 am was absolutely ridiculous. The staff was pretty minimal, so probably not much they could do about it, so rating 1 star because of ignorant guests doesn't seem fair. I needed a place to stay before hiking, just a bed that was not my car.. and I honestly may have gotten more sleep if I slept in my car. My experience was really mixed. The room was fine; it was clean and the shower and bathroom worked okay. However, there was no cable and internet was pretty spotty throughout the building --- there was none in the room. I used the laundry facilities and I had to clean them because they were pretty gross. There was ample parking, and the breakfast opened at 4 am which was great for an early start for hiking. However, on another morning when we were not hiking early, most of the fresh food (bagels) was gone at 8 am. Seems like the hotel needs a major refresh. Also, the lobby was in a state of disarray -- maybe some remodeling going to happen??

Right in center of Millinocket. Accommodations were comfortable. Our key cards stopped working 3 times and staff told us this is a common thing for guests. Something happened with my reservation here with my bank and a 3rd party app. So my reservation got canceled. I called the hotel and Cory answered and was very understanding and very helpful. I thought I was roomless over 1000 miles from home but he saved the day. He blocked a family suite so when we arrived it would be avaliable for us to check in. He didn't rush us and told us take our time and recommended places to eat on the way to the hotel. Our original room got booked due to the app cancelation but he put us in a room nearby identical just wasn't pool side. After our first night he moved us into the room we wanted for the rest of our stay. This hotel is under current renovation adding a bar and a food menu. Cory made us some chicken to try that he plans to put in the menu and it was fantastic! Rooms were very clean and comfortable. All staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely return in the future. The owners of this hotel are very lucky to have Cory. He goes above and beyond to ensure you have a wonderful stay. The breakfast is good. They have a pancake machine thats really cool to watch work. They also have pool tables to play on and a few arcade machines that we enjoyed. The swimming pool was a touch chilly at first but once you got used to it you were good. This area is hikers climbers and bikers dream come true. I cant wait to go back!

What a wonderful, helpful, kind staff!! They seemed a little low on numbers and sometimes needed to be searched for but for a rural town that’s not surprising. Be prepared that the place does not look welcoming— it’s behind a couple of run down stores and the parking lot is potholed. As a single woman when I pulled up I was more than a little trepidatious. The lobby is also currently (June 2024) being renovated so by the time I got my key I was seriously questioning my choice. This place looks like it’s under renovation but it’s not. The indoor pool area is dark and dreary. When we arrived to check in, no one was at the desk. There was a note telling us to call them but when we did the phone rang at the desk where no one was at! We waited for approx 10-15 minutes before a guy showed up, stating that it was his first day. He wore a T-shirt and no name badge to identify himself as an employee. He was the only staff visible in the entire building so my assumption is that he was doing maid duties, front desk, everything?? It felt sketchy. Had I been a solo traveler, I would not have felt safe. Katahdin Inn was quiet and we got what we needed, sleep. I wouldn’t return, however.

Property is “tired” and in need of updates. People were nice. Located in a shopping plaza with Dunkin‘ Donuts and McDonalds nearby. Indoor pool is nice if you have kids. It appears that it is under new management and that they are making some renovations. Room was clean, but has an unpleasant odor. Looks like it was once a comfort Inn, but didn’t maintain their standards and so changed the name to Katahdin Inn.

Katahdin Inn is undergoing refurbishment, but this did not affect our stay in our room, which was comfortable. The lobby had an interesting layout. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Great stay! Parking lot is another story! Rough and full of holes! Breakfast was ok. Grandchildren loved the pancakes and cereal. Wish there would have been toast, bagel or something else for adults. We will stay again when we are back in the area!
