The Langham, New York, Fifth Avenue

Fantastic service, the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly which is a lovely trait from all Langham hotels. The only downside is that they eat very much at the hotel. It feels quite small, there is a fantastic gym but no pool and only one restaurant.

I am a big fan of the Langham. I have stayed there many times and have always been satisfied with my room and the service provided. The staff is friendly and cooperative. The gym is great. The restaurant Al Fiori is a gem.

Lovely hotel. Staff was attentive and helpful. Breakfast was great. The bar is fun. If you need a central location, this hotel is it. Convenient to downtown and equally easy to get uptown. A real gem.

Langham 5th Ave is a top notch hotel well situated in Manhattan. There are some shortcomings such as lack of a pool and spa that would deter me from returning. The club on the 4th floor is an absolute pleasure . Great breakfasts , amazing friendly service . For the rest Langham NYC is a an edge ahead of Langham Chicago.

We had a wonderful experience at The Langham. We received an upgrade to a junior suite at checkin and it was such a nice way to kick off a special birthday weekend. The room was serene and beautiful, the bed quite comfortable. The club lounge was amazing. Made to order omelets, along with an array of fresh offerings, we ate every breakfast there during our stay. We also stopped by for a glass of wine and nibbles before heading out to dinner each evening. Outstanding service and excellent food. In fact, the staff was excellent in every aspect at the hotel. The concierge was so responsive, made very good recommendations, and took care of everything. We loved The Langham and can’t wait to return.

The elevator service was atrocious. Waiting times were so long we took the stairs on many occasions.

Loud (in the middle of the night), over-priced, and rapidly getting shabby “5-star” hotel. Only 3 elevators for entire 26 floors and wait times were long and annoying. The cleaning staff’s schedule was perplexing (all day and most of early evening) and they cram their large cleaning carts into the 3 small elevators stopping at every floor. I literally had to leave 20 mins on either side of my attempting to leave the room—to get to the street. Rooms were large but getting shabby with stained carpets, chipped woodwork and bathroom blinds that were malfunctioning. Food/room service was mediocre and way over-priced.

No spa or pool which is a Langham standard.

The Langham was very clean. I had an executive room and it was very spacious and well appointed. The bed was comfortable too. The staff are pleasant. I would definitely stay here again.

We spent more than a week at this property in late April. If you like walking in the city, this hotel has the perfect location to get anywhere with a healthy walk (not talking "around the corner" but something that will nicely get you over 10k steps/day) including the Central Park, Chelsea, Soho, East & West Village, etc. If you want to use the subway, the station is close-by. Cabs and app-based rides are abundant as well. We were very happy with the housekeeping service, and the quality of the job they've done. Also with the very spacious room. The restaurant was very convenient and offered excellent food & drink choices. The staff there, and elsewhere at the hotel was very helpful and friendly. Couple of things that we did not like: (1) considering this is a 5* hotel, unless you use the "club lounge" (an offer was made at the check-in but I did not find it reasonable, and did not have the energy to negotiate after a 10-hr flight and a cab-ride from JFK), there is not much of a lobby-space where you can spend quality time, you can use the restaurant but they don't serve 24/7, and (2) we paid for one of the higher-grade rooms, a "deluxe, city-view", but not sure if we got one (yes, we had a view of a part of the city, but can't say it matched our past stays in NYC)... be sure to avoid a West facing room, if you can (once again, we were too tired to ask for a change-of-room after a long trip... hotel should've done that considering our long stay).

Amazing location. Large, spacious and comfortable room. Very friendly staff. Only disappointment was that the room wasn’t serviced until after 2pm on two occasions (so had to hang around waiting to go back into our room).

This has been the best hotel experience. They clean your room daily and make sure you have accommodations. Every fees days they bring in a sweet treat that makes everything feel so much better. It was super quiet we were able to sleep very well. We had a great view too!

Amazingly friendly, attentive, and professional staff. Our room was spotless and the bathroom was so exquisite, it was tough to leave the shower. Housekeeping services come twice a day; once around checkout time and again in the evening. The bathroom mirror even had a built-in TV with basic cable channels. Would absolutely recommend!

Room was over, priced and subpar best, dusty, and not impressive. First time we stay there. It was amazing. Second time not so much, but the staff was very friendly and the concierge made it right

Stayed here for business and it was very convenient. The hotel staff was great, but I was surprised that the hotel wasn’t a little nicer given the status. The carpets were in need of a thorough cleaning and some of the furniture could use it as well. Otherwise the hotel was very nice.

Large room, great in room amenities, close to all major POIs.

We would give the Langham and their staff a 100 stars if that was available. Every member of the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The front desk staff person who checked us in was incredibly kind by upgrading us to a junior suite after inquiring about our 20th anniversary stay. The junior suite was absolutely amazing front the views to the enormous bathroom with soaking tub to the most comfy bed. The room had everything you wanted or needed. The housekeeping staff was excellent. The room was immaculate when we returned from the Hamilton show. A pleasant surprise was the turn down service with slippers next to the bed and another set of the freshest towels. We would like acknowledge the bell person who treated us like family. He escorted us to the room. Gave us a tutorial on how everything worked in the room. He graciously asked if we would like to have we would our suits and dresses hung up from our garmet bag. He gave us bottles of water every time we returned to the hotel and walked through the lobby. He also arranged the complimentary car service for us to take to dinner. All of these attentions to details puts the Langham on the top of our list now. We highly recommend the Langham. Treating people like family goes a long way. It should be every establishments approach to keep loyal customers and the Langham is doing it extremely well. Maintain the high level of service. We will be back.

We stayed in room #1104. It is large and inviting for NYC (or any city.)I hesitated to opt for the balcony in August, but it proved to be pleasant weather and was well worth the upgrade. I highly recommend this hotel. We will come again.

Great location and nicely appointed room. Liked all the elevated touches like the Nespresso coffee machine and the Dry Bar hair dryer. Service was very good. The lighting in the room and bathroom were terrible. i literally had to hold up my top by the window to see if it was creased. Also, the bathroom didn't seem to be getting much heat as it was very cold. Finally, has anyone from Langham tried to actually get in and out of the tub/shower? Its quite dangerous since its so high and a huge slip and fall risk. And since there's isn't a separate shower there are no other options. Someone from your staff should seriously try it - especially getting out.

We got the double double family room with kitchenette and it was so spacious and comfortable. Having two bathrooms is also a big plus. We had a corner room and the view of Manhattan was amazing. Service from start to finish was top notch. Loved our stay!

I believe we had a Junior Suite on the 11th floor. For NYC the suite was huge! I need my coffee in the morning and thankfully there was a Nespresso machine in the room. We had access to the club room that had a reasonable breakfast including made to order eggs and pancakes. We did not go there at other times when snacks are available all day. Service was excellent. The location was very convenient, just a few blocks to the Empire State building, and walkable to Times Square. The only reason I am dinging one star is the complete lack of color. The corridors and the rooms are just boring beige and wood. We felt we were living in an office building! Also, our room was facing the inside with 'grand' views of the back of some old buildings. Since we had cloudy days the room was a bit too dark for us. The upside was that there was no street noise. Also, I could wave my hand and open the hotel doors without having a doorman open it. Having a doorman seems such an antiquated idea. We stayed at the Ritz on Central Park for the second half of our stay. I would recommend Langham over Ritz.

Some of the best rooms in Manhattan at good value for money. Great views, huge soaking tub, very comfortable bed, stylish calming decor. Surprisingly quiet for the location and very quiet a/c too. Modern service via whatsapp and very professional employees. I actually prefer this location to higher in Midtown.

I chose The Langham (Fifth Avenue) on the strength of my stay at The Langham London (in UK) and was disappointed. As I expect the best I’m not that picky to disturb an establishment; however, my stay was for 4 nights, and the bed sheets were only changed on the first night upon my request. My room itself was not bad; however a very impractical bathtub / shower. The door men (plural) stand amongst themselves & not help or greet you as they should especially going through a very hard revolving door!! The restaurant upstairs, iFiori, has an obnoxious staff that give silent disrespect. Overall not a very welcoming place as was my lovely experience in London. Unfortunately will not return.

Rooms were not small and one can actually walk around if the suitcase is left open. Sound proofing is great and bathrooms are big, showeres are awesome. Beds are comfortable.

This hotel was amazing! From the staff’s warm welcome, the hotel’s cleanliness to the beautiful bar on the second floor, this hotel did not miss a beat! The bed was extremely comfortable, pillows were perfect, and if we needed anything from the from desk, it was delivered to us in under ten minutes. We will def be returning!

Superb customer service. From the moment you enter their establishment, you’re made to feel very welcomed.The door attendants in particular are very courteous and have been there for years. They remember me when I come each time and make the front desk aware that I am a repeat customer, which is a nice personal touch.

A+ stay all around. They accomodated our early arrival and a late departure. Their staff was friendly and helpful. Will be back!

Excellent location in New York. Walkable to Times Square, the Theatre District, shopping and restaurants. The room was clean. The staff were professional, kind and accommodating; they provided early check-in which I greatly appreciated because my daughter was ill but I did not want to cancel our Christmas trip. I would stay again but book direct instead of with Expedia because no extras were provided and I wanted this to be a memorable experience for my teenagers. Also, we took advice from Google to dress down, nothing flashy and comfortable to walk and explore the city safely which may have we also made a difference with how we were received by the staff. The restaurant food was underwhelming and we ordered in with Uber Eats and Instacart when we were not out and about. Overall, the experience the stay was good, the room was clean, the staff were great and the location is excellent.

Excellent hotel, Ai Fiori restaurant was awesome and service throughout the stay was first class.

This hotel is Absolutely Stunning & li ed up to its name! The only things I felt could have been improved was the bed which was basically a mattress topper and uncomfortable. The restaurant was impeccable & food was 10 out of 10 but the service was a bit slow. Aside from that, the Langham definitely lives up to its 5 star name!

My stay at the Langham was enjoyable but not the special experience that I wanted my teenagers to have on their first trip to New York to experience a Broadway show. The front desk personnel were able to provide us with early check-in which I appreciate as my daughter was ill. The bellhops and concierge were attentive and kind. Our first experience with the hotel restaurant breakfast was underwhelming, however the service was excellent. As a result, I ordered food from Instacart and Uber Eats when we having meals at the hotel and not out in the city. I did not receive any extras such as cookies or the attentiveness that I would expect due to booking with Expedia for convenience as opposed to directly through the hotel website. However, I will stay again.

Looking at the reviews, I was excited by this hotel. For the life of me I can’t figure out why this has such high ratings. All the people that work at the Langham are great but the hotel falls way short of what you should be given at the price point. The hotel overall was very uninspiring in its design and amenities. Everything from the hallways to the bathrooms are very poorly lit for some reason. The hallways make you feel like you are trapped in an office building and the rooms, while clean, offered what appeared to be minimalist design from the 80s with cheap faux wood slapped across all the walls. The bathrooms were dull and all the appointments were very general. Everything down to the toilets. No staff member was present at our arrival so we were stuck unloading all of our belongings and had to fetch our own cart. Not a big deal but again, at this price point, you can’t have those mistakes. The hotel itself was very dead and not a lot going on. The upstairs bar and restaurant was dark and empty with outrageously priced drinks and I say that knowing exactly what should be expected of a 5 star manhattan hotel. In summary, the hotel is more what you would expect from a Grand Hyatt at an airport. All the utility and friendliness is present but if you are looking for a hotel experience, this is at the bottom of my list of places stay in Manhattan. If you are looking for a hotel with good location and clean rooms, you can find something better and far less expensive.
