The bed Was Not very comfortable. Something was wrong with the Matress /box spring!! Everytime you moved /turned over it squeaked. Did not make for a good night sleep. No elevator.

This little place is nestled right next to the highway, but the room is well insulated against noise. It is noisy by the pool, but it is a lovely, good sized hotel pool which we all enjoyed. We brought blow ups for it. The owners definitely take pride in how they run the Hotel. Right next door is the Erie Canal Cruise place (loved that) and it's close to Cooperstown and Howe Caverns and other regional sites. Picnic tables, Continental breakfast, vending machines. Its a great value.

Very clean. Rooms were updated. The breakfast was good and had enough space. I used the laundry facilities and front desk had the quarters I needed. They were very helpful.

Staff was super friendly, check-in was easy, rooms were clean. I was only there overnight so i didn't get a chance to check out the pool. I love that they have an 11am checkout, usually it's 9 or 10 at other hotels I've stayed at. Parking seemed to be limited so get a spot early. Dennys restaurant right next door. Very strict on their smokies policies, which isn't a bad thing. Now that pot is legal, you can literally smell it everywhere so i can understand the rule about only smoking in the designated spots away from the building. Id stay here again.

Checkin was easy. Attractive curb appeal. Outside entry doors. Beds set on a type of sheet metal bed frame that make a pretty loud noise when getting in and out of bed, however, beds were comfortable. Our toilet floor bolts were loose making the toilet rock when getting up and down. Note that the breakfast is continental; nevertheless, being a cereal eater that was ok with me.

The room was dirty, mold in the bathroom, clogged sink drain, door wasn't closing all the way and you can hear everything from outside, the highway is only 300 feet away and is very noisy

Very impressed with this Red Roof compared to others. Very clean. Lots of friendly staff. Our king room was very nicely spacious and clean.BR could use an update. Liked seeing the award plaque displayed at door of lobby.

Our room seemed reasonably clean, but the bathroom was not—there were weird brown drips in the wall and there seemed to be dried feces on the outside of the front of the toilet bowl. Strangely, the whole room smelled strongly of maple syrup—not entirely bad, but odd. The staff were all super friendly and nice, but the best thing about the place aside from that was the convenience.

Whether it's the trains going by or the constant roar of the trucks passing on the NYS Thruway, there was never a dull moment. We also had the squeaking of the springs in the mattress every time we got up. The remote worked poorly and the tv kept losing its signal. Other than that, it was ok.

The rooms are clean and pretty up to date. The property is right next to the thruway so you can hear the big trucks fly by. If you’re on the first floor and have people above you, you’ll hear them walking around.

Almost everything was great, except the base of the bed is tin. Everytime you move in the night the frame sounds like a base drum under you. A solid wood base or standard bed frame would be so much better. Other than that very nice!!

Dated and worn room. Room door did not seal, let frigid air (January) pour in. Heater had to run continuously all night just to keep room barely at 64. Had to sleep with a down vest on. Desk person at check in was friendly, professional and helpful, desk person in the morning, not so much, she called me at exactly 11:01 am. as I was walking out the door, to curtly "remind" me that check-out was at 11:00 am. Sadly this is the best hotel in Herkimer... next time I'll drive the extra 30 minutes to stay elsewhere... anywhere but here.

Overall the property and stay were fine for me. I noticed that the staff, while attentive if you needed them to be, were a bit gossip-y with one another, and one seemed to be working on resolving an issue with a pet adoption during their work hours which I found to be unprofessional and irritating to have to overhear while eating in the dining room. Otherwise, the stay was fine.

My husband stays at the Red Roof Inn when travelling for business. The front desk staff always accommodates his request for a ground floor room. Room amenities are great, never an issue with the bed or heat in room. He even goes to breakfast there rather than a diner so no complaints at all.

We arrived to check in not knowing that there were no elevators to get to the second floor. I asked the staff if we were booked for first or second floor which was already set to be a on second, requested a first floor room due to my elderly mother and they seamlessly changed it for us. The room was very clean, was convenient to the parking lot, had a big refrigerator and even a little dining table. Super happy with our stay, the staff and the friendly service. The bed was comfortable, the room was sufficient and convenient to the area. I would definitely stay here again! Thank you Red Roof, Ive seen many locations in this brand be horrible, but Herkimer is very nice!

The staff at check in was awesome! There are some cleanliness issues outside the rooms in stairwells and passage ways that could be addressed. Small maintenance details in the room. Poorly hung door. Shower/bath switch not working. No dresser or sideboard! But would certainly stay there again.

This was a surprising find. First and foremost was the great check in staff, I think her name was Stephanie. Very cheerful and welcoming. Housekeeping was great. So was breakfast and staff. The lobby was warm and homey.

The staff are outstanding!! Very friendly and efficient! The lobby was especially warm and inviting with the fire and holiday decorations. The free coffee, etc was a very nice touch! Breakfast room was spotless and the offerings were ample! Fresh fruit, many cereal and bread options, boiled eggs, yogurt. We arrived during a snowstorm, and our room was cold, so we needed the heat on full blast for the entire stay.

Right off I90 in Herkimer, it was a relatively inexpensive place to stay for our trip to Turning Stone Resort Casino. Clean and convenient. Would stay there again if we go to another show at the Resort…

Bare bones "otel" No amenities, granola bar was continental breakfast. Towels you could almost see thru. no alarm clock, tv so slow you could walk over and change the channel yourself. GREAT location for walking around. near boat trips, park all of in on Main/Canada street. Make your choice and pay for what you want. Would recommend for budget traveler.

The place was neat and clean. Next door there is a Denny's, outside of that you need to travel to get to a restaurant. The hotel is right next to railway tracks that is used for long freight trains. This is noisy.

Everything with the room was fine. Lots of pillows, comfortable beds, fridge and microwave. Hard to shower without getting the floor soaked but staff brought us clean towels and floors mat each day. Only semi-neg thing was the breakfast could have been better. Nothing hot, but instant oatmeal and toasted bread products. But we made due.

We enjoyed our stay and the services provided. Staff had been very cooperative. Suggestions: 1. Breakfast had no hot and fresh cooked food options. 2. Bathing space design is so bad that water keeps falling all on bathroom floor. Thanks to room cleaning services daily we got a dry bathroom floor every night when we came back.

This is a motor inn just off the interstate, so you shouldn't be expecting Ritz Carleton level. With that caveat, while the property met my expectations, the quality of service and the options available for breakfast exceeded them. Friendly, polite, and helpful front-desk staff make all the different.

Very overpriced for what it is. Lots of truck noise from the nearby highway through the wall / window. This is a $90 a night max place. Tough to swallow paying more. Bare bones breakfast. Not bad, just very budget. No warm protein options, but coffee was ok.
