Room was very small. I paid extra for superior room. Not worth extra cost. Room was very old. You had no direct coffee or water, reception was 5th floor and room was on 5th. Had to get water from reception. It showed pocket 4g wifi given to use. That was not available or offered as per site.

Clean. Comfortable. Staff friendly. Only issue was our coffee maker wasn’t working- but the coffee in the lobby was awesome- you can get cappuccinos and lattes. Had extra amenities if you forgot something like a toothbrush. Shower had good water pressure- complimentary soap and conditioner.

Excellent location close to Central, with lots of restaurants and shops within easy waling distance. Only 10 minute walk from Hong Kong MTR station, and the express link to/from the airport. The room was clean and comfortable, and a reasonable size for central Hong Kong. Not having a reception at street level was not ideal, but once in reception the service was excellent. Fridge and safe provided, but drinking water has to be collected in a provided glass jug from a cooler in reception (part of the hotel's eco policy) - in reality this was not much of a problem for us. The hotel provided a free-of charge pocket 4G device to give you a mobile wi-fi hotspot while you are out and about. Great idea and very useful, but the device battery only gives about 4-5 hours continuous use, so if you are out all day you may need to switch the device on & off selectively or give it a charge boost during the day.

Location Location and Location. Central to every things. Complimentary a la cart coffee machine is great. You can make Cappuccino, espresso etc. If you have 2 specialty coffees a day, That is about $HK 130 free right there. Small but nice and comfortable. What size you expect in HK right?

We liked the ability to walk to the hotel from Hongkong Central and explore the area around it. It was a good one night stay, we enjoyed fresh cofee in reception area. Hotel is eco friendly.

Great location, good sized room. I'm not sure if it was because of the recent weather, but the whole hotel was very humid, lots of dehumidifiers everywhere. I could use my CPAP machine without a humidity chamber. Universal electric outlets. I would stay again on a future trip.

The noise from the construction next to the hotel was really very loud. It was from Monday to Saturday, before 8am to around 6:30pm. When I checked-in, the front desk never told me the noise problem until I complaint it. The room is old, I can see the mold on the wall. I stayed over 3 weeks which was big regret!

Es ist leider etwas veraltet, trotzdem hat es uns gefallen. Lage gut. Man muss nur bedenken dass die Wellingtonstreet am "Berg" ist, so wie vieles im Central. Personal freundlich. Das grösste Problem ist, dass das Hotel ein Problem mit der Feuchtigkeit hat, somit riecht es in den Gängen sehr schimmlig.

Beware of bed bugs , very bad bites , only stayed one night . Do not recommend , staff was nice , nice enough room , freezing at night , heater/ air purifier? Smells horobly moldy , worst bed bug infestation we have seen .Great location though .

Pros: Location is good. Close to restaurants and bars. Wifi was good. The front desk team (Lex, etc.) was friendly and helpful. Cons: The shower tiles have molds. Uneven path near the hotel. I struggled in assisting someone in a wheelchair.

The location is central. Upon arrival we found out about a construction of a building next door. It's loud. Also the staircase area is moldy and you can smell the mold. It was disappointing for the price.

We stayed at the Butterfly for 3 nights in early November, 2025. Hotel has a great location, as well as a friendly and helpful staff. However, to rate this hotel as 4 star is a significant stretch. Middle 3 stars at best. The rooms are older, small, and poorly lit. They are short on modern conveniences like USB and electrical outlets, and the amenities few (provided in the lobby). Overall this place is sort of OK, nothing great about it except location, but acceptable in a basic kind of way.

The best thing about this hotel is absolutely the location. Walking distance to Central and Hong Kong MTR. Sooo many good dining choices right next to the hotel. Staff were fantastic. I was alone with a very large suitcase and needed to get to the airport express train. The staff member gave me a route option that had the lez3st amount of steps which Google was not able to do.

Really amazing service from all the staff working at reception. They were very helpful and so kind and went out of their way to enquire about restaurant bookings and help us with our NYE. Our checkout with Karen and Shawn was very smooth, and all the other receptionists were just as amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone coming to HK island to stay here.

The staff are super nice, we left phone on uber car and they spent hour helping us trying to reach the driver. Shawn and John Ami are awesome. Location is great, walking distance to every where, we booked a large room for 4 people and it’s very spacious. Highly recommend!

Room was great value. Staff were amazing and patient. I was being very cranky and downright rude, not my usual self. The staff kept their cool and professionalism and in the end i regret terribly being so curt. My dry cleaning was not cleaned very well but that was no reason to be cranky. Best if they make sure cleaning service is upgraded but the feont desk staff more than made up for it. 5-stars to the staff alone. Room was great as well.

Everyone at reception was so nice!! I can't get over how polite, helpful and understanding they were. They helped us navigate the city, chatted with us daily and made sure we had everything we needed. The facility itself is nice but the staff makes it over the top!

Comfortable beds, clean room, friendly staff. Good location for lots of good food and night life. Not too far of a walk from a couple MTR stations. May be challenging if you have a young child who still requires a stroller and can't/won't walk very far. It is a pretty hilly area with lots of stairs (trade off is that it does put your right in the middle of all the action)
