Our go to place when staying in Canberra. We've stayed here many times over the last 6 months when going on road trips and it always delivers! The rooms are well maintained, clean, spacious and have all the facilities you need when you're away from home. The cooking facilities and laundry in room make things super convenient and the property is located within a short walk of shops and eating options, so you can leave your car parked downstairs. Highly recommended.

Was a bit dissatisfied with our stay at Abode Gungahlin. They did not tell us that they are currently painting the inside of the property so we were smacked with an unpleasant smell of paint during our stay - and still paying full price. If we had known that we would have chose to stay somewhere else due to have young children and breathing in the smoke fumes. We also had a lamp in our room which had an electrical smell so we out it on the balcony for the duration of the stay. Staff were pleasant, the rest of everything was okay, I wouldn’t say 4.3 stars though.

There is a washer and dryer in the room but the dryer didn’t work i had my clothes running in washing cycle even though i had the receptionist come and look at it. There is no instructions on how to operate the dryer. Useless piece of equipment in the room when it does not dry your clothes.

Everything was great until I went to iron my shirt for work. The worst ironing board and iron I have ever seen in a hotel room. The irons base looked like it had been dragged from Sydney to Canberra on a gravel road and the moment you put pressure on the ironing board it collapsed. I only had 45 minutes before I left the premises so I persevered, there was no point complaining at the time.

Stayed in the family room. Nicely decorated. Great small kitchen. Decent sized small fridge. Excellent heater. Great location, close to shops and restaurants. Helpful staff - very generous with towels, milk, tea and hit choc sachets, tissues etc. Washer and fast dryer in bathroom was so good!! Only negatives: not a smart tv and only a rain shower - no hand held.

Placed in a disabled room. Room stunk of cigarette smoke and stains everywhere on carpet. There was rubbish on the sink from previous guests. Maccas outside our room so heaps of vehicle noise and maccas speaker noise. Staff were friendly and really helpful.

After previously staying at this hotel and having an enjoyable stay I decided to revisit only to be terribly disappointed. The frypan was dirty with food stuck to it, shower floor grout was thick with dirt and mould. Bed was incredibly hard and uncomfortable. Previous room had smart TV and although i booked the exact same package as 4 weeks ago and paid $200 more than last time there was no smart Tv. I requested to change rooms, happy to pay for an upgrade if it existed and was informed the hotel was fully booked

Room smelt of cooking oil upon entry. Stains on the duvet, could have been blood discovered at the end of our stay. However the location was great; close to shops and eateries. And there was a washing machine combined with a dryer. Abode is a chain of hotels and I would hesitate to stay at others.

Bathroom flooded due to being placed in an accessible room with a lack of run off or alternate drainage. The room was also located above the McDonalds drive through and all night the speaker was heard. The tea, coffee, washing facilities were nice. The hotel served its purpose for our rest but I don't think we'll stay again.

Excellent location close to all amenities however noise in room was above average due to traffic. Loud music on Saturday night tended to make the stay a little concerning. Soundproofing rooms a litte lt combat road and party noise would be great.

The room overlooked the McDonalds car park and drive through which is open 24 hours. Thanks to absolutely no soundproofing in the room whatsoever all I could hear for the 3 nights I was there was people placing their food orders. I’m also not a fan of the hotels eco friendly policy which is basically they don’t clean your room or even empty bins unless you ask reception. Probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at so I won’t be returning.

when i went to check in our room had been given to some one else my check in form still had my name on it but the phone number and e-mail had been crossed out and someone else name put on it we where given room 54 which was musty smelling no paper work was filled out all this took 20/30 minutes which mad us late and no time to complain about the smell

We have stayed at this property a few times and have been happy all previous times except this time. Toilet of our room was blocked in the morning (day we have to check out) and after complaining at the reception, someone comes to our room only to say that since you are checkin out in an hour or so we will fix this afterwards. For now you can use the toilet downstairs...seriously! We had 2 rooms booked and they both were on the same floor so we did use the toilet in the other room, this was not expected. Disappointing is what I can say!

Had a great stay at abode gungalin, the staff are friendly and happy. Facilities are great, clean and tidy. With in walking distance to many shopping malls, fast food places and clubs. Also close to transport, light rail and buses. Great parking, cant fault it. Would definately stay again. Excellent

Excellent place to stay for work, central to all shops. Only issue was Macca's taking drive through at 5am in the morning. Upside was walking distance to the little pub on the corner called Siren's it is a great place to relax in after work. Meals and staff were excellent as well. I would recommend this place to anyone.

To watch tv, had to sit on bed. Fridge moves each time when door is opened. Toilet roll in bad position. Room too small and uncomfortable. Carpet dirty and marks on walls. Poor room lighting. Locked out of unit when returning with hot food for 20 minutes, key had to be reprogramed remotely. resteraunt was in refurbishment mode, unknown on arrival.
