We are concerned that the price we paid through Hotels.com was over £40 more than the rack rate displayed behind the reception counter . By that time it was not able to cancel the booking and rebook. There was a messy part of the garden visible through the window on the main staircase - an uncoiled pile of hosepipe and a badly maintained/ badly tended/ partially dead bush. Our shower had lots of orange mildew staining in the grout in the area near the shower head end of the cubicle- whereas the other end had clean grout. This did not look very hygienic at all.

The room was lovely, clean with good amenities. Fresh milk was available from the lobby if you wanted. The breakfast was freshly cooked with a good choice on the menu. All the staff we met were really friendly and helpful. Great little place!

Made a great 1-night stay before a flight at the airport in the morning. Close by, convenient, and a rather nice gem at a good rate. Rooms were quiet, relatively clean, and modernized. Only thing negative we saw was a lot of mold on the shower walls. Seems like an easy thing to clean but somone ignores it. Everything my else was clean though. Breakfast doesn’t start until 7, so we missed out on food before we had to catch a flight.

Very nice and comfortable hotel in a great location. The rooms are very nice and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom's are nicely appointed and the shower was excellent. The breakfast included with the stay needs a little attention and management, as over the three days of my stay, it was quite inconsistent. The poached eggs I could have used to play golf with, and you are only served half of a slice of black pudding, which I wasn't sure was for my health benefit, or cost reduction. Either way, it didn't send the best of messages and look. The pub has great food and is a great social point for gatherings. I would suggest the trash can outside the entrance door be emptied more frequently, as it was full and overflowing during my stay. It looked unsightly, and was never cleaned out. Overall, it's a great place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed for two nights and had a wonderful time. The hotel itself is excellent, spotlessly clean, with lovely spacious rooms and very comfortable beds. Breakfast met our expectations, offering everything from a full English to vegetarian options, all served with very good and polite service. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will most definitely return. That said, we did encounter a few issues that could be easily addressed to improve the guest experience: Upon arrival, there was no one at reception, just a notice, we went to the pub outside to find someone. Perhaps a buzzer or a way to call the person on duty would make this process more convenient. We weren’t informed that we needed to hang the "PLEASE CLEAN" sign outside for room service.(possibly because the person was very friendly and we were chatting a lot) As a result, no one came to check on the room, which was mainly for bins and fresh towels. The room was freezing cold when we arrived. While the heating worked well once turned on, it took a few hours to warm up. It might be helpful to ensure the heater is turned on prior to a guest's arrival, especially during colder weather. We hope this feedback is helpful, and we’re looking forward to visiting again soon

From the moment we arrived staff were lovely. The room was perfect with lots of nice, thoughtful touches. Tea and coffee was in plentiful supply and more was available at reception alongside fresh milk from the fridge in little glass bottles and fruit. The room was clean with plenty toiletries. The breakfast was amazing. All freshly cooked with prime ingredients. Nothing not to like about this place.

I'm splitting this review into two, the hotel and the pub because the hotel is a separate building. THE HOTEL I loved the unique little touches at this hotel. The reception has complimentary fruit and refrigerated milk (I don't like UHT). You can also fill up on tea & coffee at reception (none of this only one tea bag per person per night malarkey). Room was really nicely decorated, love the bright pops of colour in the armchairs and mirrors too. Staff were great, friendly and chatty. Mattress was comfy, its a shame that you could actually feel the zip on the mattress AND the duvet through the material (I understand that they have to be able to use a room as a twin too, but invest in a decent mattress cover and separate duvets). The pillows were very plump. THE PUB We ate here on the Friday night, the hollandaise on my starter was split and there was so much water from the poached egg that everything was slippery and tasted of salt water. Main was so unremarkable that two days later I can't even remember what I had. Saturday morning, possibly one of the BEST hotel breakfast I've had. Light and creamy scrambled eggs (I consciously didnt choose the eggs benedict because of the night before), crispy bacon, toasted toast, delicious mushrooms. And a lovely latte to boot. Sunday, possibly the worst. Insisted we pay for latte, hard scrambled egg (more like an overcooked omellete with hard black pepper chunks), flimsy fatty bacon, soggy cold toast, flavourless tomato.

Such a lovely place to stay & feel we’ve stumbled upon a hidden gem that was located in lovely surroundings and very easy to find. Just perfect! The rooms were well kept, contemporary & smelt divine, with all amenities & really nice to have fresh milk too! Also loved that you could replenish things yourself if you needed. Beds super comfy too! We are on both nights & food was of a good standard. The staff, in particular on Saturday evening were so friendly, making the customer service stand out. Good choice of breakfast & speedy service. I would highly recommend a stay if in the area - they really go that extra mile to ensure you have a great experience.

I loved the ease of entering the hotel parking lot, as well as the quietness and cleanliness of the room. The breakfast experience was miserable; one of the service personnel was very bad; after I sat down to have breakfast and ordered my order with my partner, he came to us with a different order after being absent for about half an hour! Fabulous little hotel. Breakfast was excellent.. Lovely dining room in next door pub. Big shout out to Chris who was on reception when we arrived late at 8:30pm. He was super friendly and after a 15 hour trip from Canada, via London, he carried our heavy baggage up to the room. Highly recommended place to stay.

This was a great find, very convenient to the airport, in a nice town, with food available either at the pub or in the room, fresh milk and fruit available, and a very comfy bed. Very nice and comfortable hotel in a great location. The rooms are very nice and the beds are comfortable. The bathroom's are nicely appointed and the shower was excellent. The breakfast included with the stay needs a little attention and management, as over the three days of my stay, it was quite inconsistent. The poached eggs I could have used to play golf with, and you are only served half of a slice of black pudding, which I wasn't sure was for my health benefit, or cost reduction. Either way, it didn't send the best of messages and look. The pub has great food and is a great social point for gatherings. I would suggest the trash can outside the entrance door be emptied more frequently, as it was full and overflowing during my stay. It looked unsightly, and was never cleaned out. Overall, it's a great place to stay and I would recommend it to anyone.

Beautiful place, lovely clean room Plenty of tea, coffee etc & fresh milk available in small flasks at reception Went into the Pub (2 separate buildings next to each other) for dinner, interesting menu, excellent food, just dropped one point for slightly slow service even though it wasn’t that busy! No real detriment… Breakfast was excellent except my husband asked for no tomato or black pudding on his breakfast & it came with those on, again no big deal, just minor discrepancies on an otherwise excellent stay. Will stay again next time we’re flying as it was the best we’ve found yet, close to the airport.

I'm splitting this review into two, the hotel and the pub because the hotel is a separate building. THE HOTEL I loved the unique little touches at this hotel. The reception has complimentary fruit and refrigerated milk (I don't like UHT). You can also fill up on tea & coffee at reception (none of this only one tea bag per person per night malarkey). Room was really nicely decorated, love the bright pops of colour in the armchairs and mirrors too. Staff were great, friendly and chatty. Mattress was comfy, its a shame that you could actually feel the zip on the mattress AND the duvet through the material (I understand that they have to be able to use a room as a twin too, but invest in a decent mattress cover and separate duvets). The pillows were very plump. THE PUB We ate here on the Friday night, the hollandaise on my starter was split and there was so much water from the poached egg that everything was slippery and tasted of salt water. Main was so unremarkable that two days later I can't even remember what I had. Saturday morning, possibly one of the BEST hotel breakfast I've had. Light and creamy scrambled eggs (I consciously didnt choose the eggs benedict because of the night before), crispy bacon, toasted toast, delicious mushrooms. And a lovely latte to boot. Sunday, possibly the worst. Insisted we pay for latte, hard scrambled egg (more like an overcooked omellete with hard black pepper chunks), flimsy fatty bacon, soggy cold toast, flavourless tomato.
