Sun Inn

A very well appointed pub with accommodation. Good beers and food. Great cooked breakfast. I found it hard to first locate the entrance to the pub car park and, when i did, hard to park up.

Good position. Clean. plenty on offer. Cheap to park.

Rooms are above a pub so expect there to be some noise.

Nice clean comfy standard room. Friendly staff. No lift had to climb 3 flights of stairs.

Needs to be made clear that you have to park in a local car park,it says long stay maximum 12 hours. So have to pay at 8am,then at 8pm,as charged until 10pm!! If this had been made clear,I would have considered somewhere else

Only drawback was no lift stairs to steep for me.

Rooms were Ok , Staff were polite and helpful , Food was excellent. The ONLY bad thing i can say about the Sun Inn is the loud music entertainment went on until about midnight , outside the pub was noisy until about 2.30am , and loud traffic noise. I slept about 6 hours over two nights ....... NOT GOOD , and i will NOT be returning.

Property was ok, clean enough, but just a bit tatty. The shower curtain was yellow at the bottom with black mould around the bath. Room was also very hot. Unable to use car park as full so had to pay for parking. Glad it was only a one night stay

Good place to stay for our one night in the area. Good value. Parking available round the back in a public car park, free on weekends and only £1 a day for other days. Receptionist / Bar Maid was very pleasant (and busy!) and helpful. Thank you.

Was a nice trip my room was clean but very dusty which I did not like which is why it could’ve been better , the resultant provided food that wasn’t to my standard but everything else was fine

My stay was good, the only feedback I have is regarding the heat in the room. It was absolutely roasting, despite the heating not being on, the window being open and it only being between 14-17 degrees during the days.

Bit noisy

Single room. Grey green decor. Very dismal. Bedside lamp not working so very gloomy even with table lamp on. Window would not stay open and was like sleeping at the equator. No radiators actually on but 3 hot water pipes were round the skirting boards for use in other rooms I was told and very hot. March was the month and slept on the duvet all night ( or tried to sleep) was so tired by the morning I didn’t even bother with breakfast. Not impressed

Shower not working properly in first room so asked to be moved. Second room had working shower but was directly over the kitchen extractor which was very load especially with the windows due the warm weather and no air conditioning in the room. The extractor switched off around 10pm and then switched on again in the morning and woke me up. Overall not a great experience especially for the price so wouldn’t recommend.

Room was spacious and clean. Basic amenities provided. Extremely hot. Had to close window because of noise outside from smokers etc from pub. Did not stop noise and very noisy from pub itself as room was above. Did not sleep 1st night, but 2nd was not a noisy. Bed rock hard but clean. Loved the pillows. Friendly staff, lovely cleaners.

Noisy accommodation near main road....and constant noise in room 2 kitchen extract below did not go off till 9:00 p.m. and then after that you had to content with the humming of the freezers in the kitchen along with the main road it is a listed building the windows are not great

Perfectly adequate for an ordinary stay. Food fine, and very affordable. Cheery, efficient service (even at busy times). Would happily stay again, in similar circumstances.

Room was fine for the price, simple but comfortable, but the staff were excellent, helpfull and accomadating even when issues arised (issues on my end, not the Inn), breakfast in the morning was also goid.

A comfortable room, and bed. Staff lovely throughout the pub and hotel.

I’ve stayed here twice now and each time was absolutely fine. Staff was incredible and very accommodating. I’ve booked again for when I’m travelling up in September and very happy to be staying again here.

Easy to find..central to everything and comfortable and clean.

Staying nearby to work. The most amazing comfy huge beds (room 9) perfect after a 12 hour day… great friendly staff who gave us rooms with baths as requested.. busy friendly pub and close to amenities. Stayed before and would definitely recommend

Met my mate who goes uni, it’s a bit out from the centre so had to get Uber or the train. But overall nice pub and the rooms are decent.

Limited breakfast items run out of eggs. Room is unbearably hot windows painted shut and only 3 car spaces which covered in bird poo next day spent £10 on a car wash that day

I think that one star out of five was about fair for my stay at this place last night. It began pretty awful - there was no parking available on site, or at the Pay and Display alongside, and when I did eventually find a spot the sign said "Maximum Stay 12 hours", well what use is that - most people arrive at a hotel at 5-6pm, and they're not likely to want to move their car at 5am! Having checked in to my pretty dire room - I could touch both walls all the way along the narrow corridor type room, with uneven floor, and a security latch on the inside of the room door to presumably barricade yourself in - the restaurant was a terrible joke. Yes, I expect a pub restaurant to be a bit rowdy when football is on the TVs, but it was horrendous. Shouting and screaming at the game some people were calling the referee a "f'ing c***' while the staff simply watched on, many children running around screaming to be heard over the raucous din, a slanging match between two tables of people, and a fight between two men at the bar. I ate as fast as possible (food was v poor too) and retired to my room out of the way. Looked out of the window and say three police cars parked outside, clearly waiting for throwing out time. The slamming doors, shouting, music, screaming tyres, continued past midnight. I stay in modest hotels fairly regularly, and I am confident in the belief that this was my worst ever stay, and when you realise that my stays included a backpackers hostel, that's a low bar!
