Prior to our stay, communication with the owner was excellent, however there were misunderstandings concerning a deposit required, which in the end we did not have to pay. Conditions like this should be made clear at the time of booking. When we arrived, the small car park was full of vehicles. We managed to bag the very last space. Limited on-street parking is also available on the busy main road in front of the hotel. Our room contained 2 double beds when only one was required, so with different furnishings it could have been very comfortable to live in. The bathroom was separated from the room only by a flimsy curtain. Generally the accommodation was clean, but had seen better days. Breakfast for £8 pp consisted of tea or coffee and a plate of the usual fried items. No cereals, extra bread or jam were offered. The owners were lovely. We were informed that they had taken over the hotel only recently and have plans to refurbish the property. When this happens the place should be lovely. Definitely all right for a short stay.

Stayed 1 night

The business described itself as a B&B and had an information sheet in the bedroom saying at what time breakfast was served. In fact, there was no breakfast offered, The walls were dirty and desperately in need of painting. The bathroom ceiling paint was all coming off. The mirror light in the bathroom was filthy. The window seals were mouldy. The fire alarm was beeping every 2 seconds and this could be heard from my room, making getting to sleep somewhat difficult. The hotel, as a whole, might have been quite pleasant in its prime. Unfortunately 2026 is not its prime. Far from it.
