Angel of the Sea is a lovely Bed and Breakfast… the room was impeccable and the staff is exceptional. The breakfast was great and they offered afternoon tea and sweets as well as wine and meats and cheeses for “happy hour”. They go above and beyond. They have beach towels and chairs available as well as bicycles for the guests. The only suggestion I would have is to repair or get newer bicycles . A good amount of them were significantly rusted and not in great condition…as silly as it may seem, the bell on mine was falling apart .

The staff was attentive and kind. The breakfast was amazing and I loved the atmosphere of tea time. Overall an amazing place to stay. They have beach chairs, umbrellas and towels and bikes. You are right across from the beach, away from a lot of the downtown chaos. I would highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed in Cape May at the angel of the sea for two nights. Our room was a king room with an ocean view. Our bed was extremely comfortable. Linens were clean. Bathroom was clean, but hallway railings were sticky, and stairway carpets were worn. The place seemed tired. It was a lovely. The service could not have been better and each staff member was extremely helpful and friendly. It is a beautiful Victorian mansion decorated in Victorian Style. However, there is no lounging area for guests. It’s all eating areas. They do provide beaching supplies and bicycles which is an added bonus.

The staff there was amazing, but the only bad part is an old Victorian that doesn’t have elevator so you have to walk up a lot of stairs to get to your room And every time you have to use the bathroom, they don’t have one on the first floor But the breakfast was very good every morning and they let you pick whatever you want

Angel of the Sea has all the charm you could hope for. It’s a beautiful, well maintained mansion. Everyone on the staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. Excellent breakfast every morning. We were half a block from the beach, a very easy walk. Afternoon tea and cakes were great. Convenient parking right behind the mansion, Complimentary beach chairs, umbrellas and towels available for beach use. Bicycles available for sightseeing excursions. They thought of everything. Did I mention the staff? They were great! We felt so welcomed and appreciated. We were very impressed.

I booked here on a weekend getaway as a gift for my girlfriend’s birthday. It is very close to the beach with a 2 minute walk to the closest beach entrance, the amenities were great, we loved using the bikes to get to the main shopping and dining area and loved using the chairs on the beach. (Both are provided free of charge) our room was very clean and had AC. Overall we would come back here and stay in the future

Staff was very nice. Check in was quick & easy. Large parking lot in back was super convenient. Breakfast was very good with several options to choose from. Room was comfortable. We were only there for one night during off season so sadly we didn’t have the opportunity to utilize amenities such as bicycles, beach chairs & towels, but that is a great option to have in Cape May.

My husband and i loved the hotel and staff. The facility is old so we were not surprised when some of the fixtures in the bathroom were old. We on the 3rd floor and if we return we will ask for a lower floor. They do not have an elevator and walking to the 3rd fl was a challenge. The bed was too high and we needed a stool to reach the bed and tub in the bathroom because both were too high for us. The place is very nice and the breakfast and afternoon snacks (with wine) was both great.

The staff was kind and friendly The food was acceptable Our room was dirty. The floor was not clean. I had to look under the bed because I dropped something and there were massive dust balls and cob webs. There was a used covid mask next to a dresser. There was an empty bottle sticking out from under a night stand. We had a 1/4 roll of toilet paper without a spare. There was a dirty mattress laying next to a walkway outside Ewwww. The hot water in the shower kept changing temperature. There was a plastic bag tangled up with a shrub next to a walk way.

The inn is very old and has quite an interesting history. It is beautiful in its own right but it’s upkeep is sorely lacking. We did not get the room originally booked but after checking the availability on our weekend it was at full capacity so requesting to move would have been pointless. Details to cleanliness was lacking; shower was not clean and dirt was on the floor. Doors and rugs were dirty and wall moldings were very dusty. The morning breakfast was excellent on both mornings and they were very accommodating with special dietary needs. Checking in and out was easy. This inn is such a beautiful lady! I hope they begin to polish her up and let her beauty shine!!

Absolutely beautiful place, so charming and quaint. Staff was friendly and our room was beautiful we especially enjoyed our own fireplace. We even had an ocean view. Christmas time in Cape May is to me one of tge best times to go. We will definitely be back!

Everything was good except the 3rd floor was extremely hot. We did not have a thermostat to turn down the heat. Sleeping that night, we had to turn the ceiling fan on high and we had to open up the windows. The management was closed, and we were out of luck. We would probably not go back.

We booked through Orbitz and apparently the room we had was already booked for the second night so we had to do a room switch. It was a bit of a inconvenience but was ok cause we got to see two different rooms during our visit. We stayed in room 19 first which was lovely. A nice poster bed and real nice shower, would recommend. The second night was room 22. This not so nice. The room was on second floor and had no heat and the windows were stuck open. We didn't realize till middle of the night when we woke up freezing! There were also ants in the shower, just a few but very odd there would be ants in the shower. The breakfast was amazing!! The afternoon tea and wine in the evening was great. Staff was very pleasant. Great location. Would recommend.

The beds are extremely high, and stepstools provided slip. You may get hurt trying to get into or out of bed. I'm not that short and it was a problem. My shower was from the 1800's and would not work for me.

We travel frequently and this is one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. We were there for the graduation of my nephew from the Coast Guard but we will return because of our experience at Angel of the Sea. It was simply fantastic.
We travel frequently and this is one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. We were there for the graduation of my nephew from the Coast Guard but we will return because of our experience at Angel of the Sea. It was simply fantastic.

Angel of the Sea has all the charm you could hope for. It’s a beautiful, well maintained mansion. Everyone on the staff goes out of their way to make you feel welcome. Excellent breakfast every morning. We were half a block from the beach, a very easy walk. Afternoon tea and cakes were great. Convenient parking right behind the mansion, Complimentary beach chairs, umbrellas and towels available for beach use. Bicycles available for sightseeing excursions. They thought of everything. Did I mention the staff? They were great! We felt so welcomed and appreciated. We were very impressed.

Absolutely fantastic. Staff was friendly and attentive. The building is beautiful. The wine and cheese was an unexpected treat. My wife and I were in town for our sons Coast Guard boot camp graduation. But I'd return with her for a weekend get away at The Angel any time. It was beautiful.

Staff was considerate, informative and knowledgeable, Mark was great during check in, Shane was very cordial and new answers to all of our questions, Patrick was exceptional and engaging, and today we met Kimber and she has a great personality, the whole experience was top notch and we will definitely be back!!!

Staff was very nice. Check in was quick & easy. Large parking lot in back was super convenient. Breakfast was very good with several options to choose from. Room was comfortable. We were only there for one night during off season so sadly we didn’t have the opportunity to utilize amenities such as bicycles, beach chairs & towels, but that is a great option to have in Cape May.

Enjoyed the ocean view and how close restaurants and shops were. Easy bike ride, walk. No need to drive everywhere. Breakfasts were delicious and the afternoon tea and sweets were a nice treat. Also, the wine and cheese early evening was special.

Staying at Angels is a walk back in time to the 19th century. The rooms, the architecture, the decorations are a time travel experience. The food is plentiful ans delicious. Will come back here to reminice about the olden days. Plus Cape May is delightful, clean and relaxing all by the sea.

This place is excellent! Great location, very clean, very cozy and the amenities are great. The service is outstanding and what you pay gets you really good breakfast, and great tea and wine hours (with baked on premise pastry and fresh charcuterie and cheese). We were so pleasantly impressed with this place. We are looking forward to return in the future!! 10 out of 5 stars!!

I've visited several times and I'm never disappointed. Staff is excellent: polite, helpful, cheery. Breakfasts are bountiful: fresh fruit, muffin and bread du jour, hot entree (eggs, waffles, pancakes, etc), coffee, tea & juice. 4: 00 is coffee, tea and fresh baked sweets; and 5:30 is wine and charcuterie platter. Hotel is 1 block from beach and a short walk to downtown restaurants and shops. You won't be disappointed.
