Inn On The Beach

We had a lovely stay at this motel. The view and ocean waves right outside our patio. Parking was easy and safe. I’m definitely going back! The carpet was pretty worn and not too clean but everything else was fabulous.

You are actually on the beach sand. Get 2nd floor as first floor view is partially obstructed by a short wall. There are several restaurants in the area. The hotel has free off-street parking.

This was a quaint older motel on the beach. My room was right on the beach. Staff was friendly. The room had a few things that could have been updated but really good for the price.

Incredible views, easy check in, nice room a bit dated, could use a/c, bigger tv screen with movie channel and umbrella on outside table. But was nice quiet comfortable room and thd vuew, beach, parking were outstanding!! Will visit and stay again soon

The property is old and facility is in fair condition. What is great about this property is its location and access to the beach. The sunsets are amazing.

Great Location. Great Staff. Place is dated. Beds were comfortable. The negatives were that there wasn't a screen door on the slider and we were inundated with ants. They had to move us to another room when it was available.

I had the worst experience I have ever had at any hotel. Not only was the room dirty. There were stains of what appeared to be bodily fluids on the bed skirt, the sink was clogged up, the blow dryer wouldn’t work, there were food crumbs all over the floor and to make matters worse I got a phone call to the room at 1:45 am.  When I explained to the manager, Jay, what had happened, not only was he not apologetic, but even had the audacity to contemptuously ask me if I would know how to spell his name, when I said I would unfortunately have to write a negative review about my experience there. I don’t like giving bad reviews, but I feel it incumbent upon me to help others avoid such a bad experience in the future.

we love the customer service, very friendly staff. nice, quiet area. respectful people at the restaurants around, however the cleaniness needs improvement, example the tile-floor in the bath needs scrubbing, the vents and exterior walls are dusty f spiderwebs and the carpets feels sticky. someone needs to check that the maids are really cleaning. other than that. GREAT

For what I paid, I think the place should not have had a funky smell (needs new carpet), loose faucets, ants, and mold on the ceiling of the bathroom. Location was awesome, staff was pleasant, and we really enjoyed the beach!

The location on the beach was wonderful. The room was very dirty. I got tar on my feet from the carpet. This must be common because they provide nail polish remover to get rid of it. I had to wear shoes in the room. The room doesn't have air conditioning or heat. The fireplace did not work. The fan was so dirty I would not have used it. The beds were very uncomfortable. The breakfast was cereal, croissants, and muffins. The kitchen area was very dirty as well.

The room needed upgrade. Paint was flaking in places. Carpet was ancient. No air conditioning, weak wimpy fan. No shower curtain or blow dryer in the bathroom. Despite all of this, stay was acceptable because of the SPECTACULAR SUNSETS.

Amazing location as we were right on the beach. The walk out deck was amazing and I could enjoy an amazing view of the beach and ocean. With the balcony door open the ocean breeze and sound was amazing… like being on the beach without the sand and sunburn. With the door closed the room was quiet. The rooms could be deeper cleaned every once in a while and the towels needed to be bigger. The pillows weren’t great but the mattress was wonderful.

Loved the beautiful sunset views from the room & even more from the balcony. It’s a little bit older vibe, but was very clean and comfortable. Will definitely stay again!

The location can NOT be better. It is fabulous. The price is more than fair. The rooms are little rundown. Our fireplace didn’t work. The small exterior heater didn’t work. The furniture on the balcony was very old, dirty and is disrepair. But all of those negatives didn’t matter. The views were tremendous. The proximity to the ocean (30 seconds walk from room to beach), the sounds of the crashing waves, the quaintness of the neighborhood and the more than fair price made it worth it.

The best views and access to the beach - you are on it! Nothing obstructing the view or access. It can get warm in the room because there is no a/c but with the sliding glass door open it is wonderful. The sound of the waves is so peaceful. Would definitely stay there again.

Rooms are decorated in antique style. However, wallpaper was peeling and carpeting is dated.

You can't beat this location for access to the beach and being able to walk to great food options. It's also a very convenient location for so many local spots. We stayed on the third floor and it did get pretty hot and stuffy. We went and bought a box fan and placed it in the screen door to make it cool enough to sleep at night. We did love having a deck that was right on the beach to watch the sunsets! The shower was newly renovated and amazing however the bathroom was ver small and could have used some hooks or a shelf or any place to store items. The wifi is also very weak and not consistent and unfortunately I had to work a bit on this trip and the wifi not regularly working was challenging. Overall the pros definitely outweighed the cons and we would go back now that we know to bring a fan and a hotspot!

The pictures are deceiving.If you are on the ground floor, you do not have a private patio. It’s a large shared space with all the other ground level travelers. There is a slider door out to this area from each room but the view of the ocean isn’t the greatest because there is a pretty tall sand dune right in front. There isn’t beach access from your room, you have to walk back to the entrance of the hotel and walk around to the beach which isn’t that big of a deal. I just thought we had beach access from rooms. The rooms were outdated, there was a wet spot that smelt like pee on the carpet, just a couple little random things like that.Now, my biggest complaint is there is no ac/cooling system in the rooms.Only one single box fan.Our room was separated into two rooms, each with a queen bed so only one box fan wasn’t doing any favors. I went to front desk right away and asked for one more fan and was told it’s only one fan per room number. The only way we were able to get any kind of cooling airflow was to open the slider all the way and prop the front door open. During the day, this was fine but at 3 am when no one could sleep because it was so hot, that wasn’t really an option. opening the slider didn’t help because between the plexiglass and sand dune not much breeze was getting to us and we felt weird leaving the door wide open while sleeping.worst nights sleep even for my toddler and he sleeps through everything. Bring an extra fan if you come. Beds were comfy though

Location was amazing. Couldn't ask for a better experience with how convenient my stay was. Would have given and excellent review but the only thing that was missing at least for me was AC in the room. It did get pretty warm and stuffy. Good eats walking distance a major plus.

Recently, Remodeled and very clean. Right on the beach. Above and beyond service. Angela was the nicest front desk attendant I have met. Jay was a hands on manager and we appreciate his understanding and personalized service. I was under the weather with two small kids and we still had a relaxing time. Pictures of view from room and the sand with the inn in the background! Literally steps away from your perfect beach day! We will be returning hopefully soon!

In on the beach was absolutely perfect. Every staff member in which we encountered was friendly, courteous, and helped us with every need we had. The location was perfect with many shops and restaurants all within walking distance. We were steps from the beach, and were able to enjoy the sounds of the ocean from our room. Our only request would be to provide some low carb breakfast options. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone and would love to stay again!

Check in went great with Rafael, he was courteous and had a big smile for us! Angela the night clerk had answers for our questions and always with a smile and enthusiasm This place is right on the beach, rooms are nice with a quaint atmosphere, I would come back again

This hotel is in a great place where you can park your car and never move it again. The front desk gentleman was so kind and professional. Showed that he cared about the hotel and his guest. We enjoyed the patio and the views of the beach. Do you wish there was some kind of separation of the porches. Had other guests want to join us and if we had a separation of each porch, we might’ve had a good reason not to let them join us. There are nice restaurants, walking distance, happy hour bars. And the ocean is two minute walk. Definitely will be back again. Loved it.

When I think of beach, I think of Inn On The Beach. You literally face the ocean as every room faces the ocean. If you open your balcony door, the waves will lull you to sleep. The continental breakfast is simple, but very filling. What a pleasure to be able to get hot coffee in a big cup, freshly brewed, even though they have a coffee maker in your room. I love the chocolate muffins! The staff is so welcoming and accommodating. I always ask for extra pillows and extra towels and they just smile and graciously provided.

When they say "One the Beach" they mean you are right on the sand when you step out the front door. Wonderful location and a beautiful view of the entire beach. The are surrounding the hotel was also very lively with a good choice of restaurants, The recommendation from our host for the Italian restaurant across the beach was much appreciated - great meal. I would definitely recommend the Inn on the Beach for a stay in the Ventura area. Thanks for having us.

We used to live here and come to Ventura about 3x a year. We always stay at Inn on the Beach. It’s our favorite spot. The staff is very friendly. The location can’t be beat. It’s walkable to good food, a nice local ice cream shop and a few blocks from the grocery store. And best of all steps to the beach.

It’s on the beach and for the price it’s awesome. It’s all about the location. This is our go to in Ventura.

This place is called "Inn on the Beach" and it is exactly that - the beach is right outside the rooms; so much that I'd bet that during the some of the winter storms it is very possible that the ocean could potentially send water into the bottom-floor rooms. That being said, the place is amazingly quiet and having the sound of the ocean breaking just outside your door at night is medically peaceful. There are several very good restaurants nearby that are completely walkable as well. The rooms are very nice and well-kept and the staff is highly attentive to making sure the hotel remains clean. With the amount of sand that gets dragged in daily, they keep the hallways shockingly free of sand. If I were to have a complaint, it would be that the breakfast is rather lacking. They had some Costco-grade wrapped pastries and generic coffee (and teas) for breakfast - nothing more. If you're looking for a warm meal or fruit for breakfast, you'll have to look around. Otherwise, our experience here was great and we would easily stay here again.

The hotel description says that’s there a continental breakfast and there was not. The water from the bathroom sink leaked and would get the whole floor wet. But the view made up for it.

The continental breakfast included two choices of cereal and really delicious muffins. The room was recently updated and the staff was very helpful and personable. This was the nicest place I've stayed in for a long long time. We usually stay at best western, holiday inn, or Hampton inn. I enjoyed the inn at the beach much more.

We loved this place!!!! We will be back again. The views are amazing, it feels like you are in the ocean!! Only negative feedback I would give is the breakfast is not good. Expect to eat elsewhere. The staff is so friendly.

It was good location, parking, restaurants and access to beach. I wished there were good amenities for breakfast (coffee, cereal and muffins) for price paid. Minor things to add on like bath towels, extra hooks to hang up the towels.

This hotel is older so be prepared for weird flowery wallpaper, few electical outlets and oversized furniture. However, it is a great location, right on the bach and on the deadend of Seaward Street. The third floor room had a wonderful view and private balcony - great place to watch the sunsets. The staff was amazing - courteous and very helpful. Breakfast was sparse - pastries and cold cereal or oatmeal. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. We were there in early May so the beach and the surroundings were not crowded at all. Overall, it was a good stay and we would go back.

Really lovely the only small issue is that honestly the tv could be a bit bigger and if there was more of an actual breakfast rather than just cereal and store bought muffins it would be way better.

The room was clean and comfortable. The view of the beach from the balcony was fantastic. On the downside the refrigerator in the room did not work and the staff were unable to get it to work. Also, the included breakfast was a little skimpy (cold cereal, hot instant oatmeal, pastries, fruit, coffee, tea & milk).

Great location however the cold shower/lack of hot water made the Pacific feel warm. The furniture was strange, dated and in disrepair. The breakfast was terrible (some cereal in a plastic bin)
