We were greeted by Julie who did a terrific job of making us feel welcome. I suffer from a severe anxiety condition and frankly, this is the quietest hotel stay I ever remember (and I've had a lot of hotel stays in my 60 years). They also welcomed a visit from my son and his family. The pool was fun --- crystal clear, very clean, very quiet and enjoyable. Thanks, Microtel, for a great stay!

The hotel is in a convenient location. Close to I81. There is a shared pool which was nice. The room we had was 103, a handicapped accessible room. The room was large and so was the bathroom. However, the shower head was clipped to the wall at waist level and the shower head attachment that holds the shower head up for use as a regular shower was broken, and had been for a while as it was rusty. This made the water shoot straight out into the bathroom! We made due the first morning and I fashioned a ziptie to hold it up in place for the second morning. We did inform Julie at the front desk when checking out and she said she would have the maintenance people check into it. The carpet was soaked outside the bathroom door when we checked in and I'm guessing that's why. Otherwise, the room was clean. Bed was soft, and we rolled to the middle. The price was good, but I'm not sure if we will stay there again. We come here one to 2 times per year for events at the fairgrounds which is very close. Breakfast was eggs, sausage patties, cereal, bagels, donuts, oj, pancakes, yogurt, apples. Clean and plentiful.

The staff was pleasant but unable to accommodate. Called ahead of time to ensure they had a Tesla charger they said yes. On arrival they said it was broken and told us to check tomorrow. Checked the next day initially they said it still was not working but during breakfast had it fixed. However it was not a supper charger. It would have taken all day to charge. Requested another room on arrival because the room smelt like stale cigarette smoke. They said they could not switch because they were full. The sink in the bathroom was cracked. Overall was not happy with room and the reason for choosing the hotel because they advertised they had a Tesla charger. 😞

We reached in the night at 11:45 pm with two kids. Yash at the reception was very helpful and checkin was a breeze. Their breakfast was supposed to start at 6:30 and we were leaving by 6 am but Yash made sure that we we have breakfast before we leave and he prepared everything before time also for us. He was so friendly and helpful in everything. We would love to stay again in Microtel if Yash would be there.

Expedia indicated all pets are accepted but when arrived at the hotel with a cat I was told Expedia had not updated the new policy whereas no cats are allowed…so ended up in a hotel that was rated much lower and would have cost me much less if it had been booked earlier…Expedia did not cover all the difference in cost.

The room was very clean, but very small. Literally just fit 2 queen beds & barely any room for anything else. But I’m not complaining because we didn’t need any extra room for much. So not really a big deal… we paid $20 for the late check out which extended it from 11am-1pm.. kinda pricey but, it served our purpose. After leaving on a Thursday I realized on Sunday that I had left a drawer full of my expensive clothes behind!! I called the hotel and by luck they had them bagged and ready, personally I think they should have contacted me about my clothes being left behind but that wasn’t the case. I’m grateful that I got my clothes back and left the housekeeper a $20 tip for her honesty. I just wish they’d of called me instead of me having to call them. I will mention that they do have a pool but they share it with the Ramada motel next door which made it kinda crowded when we went down for chairs to lay out in the sun, maybe add a few more chairs that would be nice. Other than that perfect stay!! Top notch! (Our phone didn’t work in our room either…. When I called my fiancé via the room phone it didn’t work… and we wasn’t reimbursed for the trouble)

During check in another guest was complaining about roaches. It only went downhill from there. We were told we had the last room which was adjacent to the lobby. Sleep was horrible as guests gathered loudly in the middle of the night. I had to approach the loud guests. No staff around to tell them stay quiet at 2am. Staff setting up breakfast before 6am was loud which was against our room wall. The one time i was able to ask for a better room i was told to check later which i could not. We also had a roach in our room.

The property looks nice on the outside but the carpet was quite old in the room. It's a little strange how there's a nice window seat but then a stain in the middle. The was a hair on the towel and one in the bed.

WHEN WE FIRST GOT IN THE ROOM WE FOUND POOP IN THE TOILIT AND RUG LOOKED DIRTY THE INSIDE IS RUN DOWN AND OLD LOOKING.THE SHOWER FAUCET HANDLE WAS LOOSE AND MADE IT DIFFICULT TO TURN THE WATER ON.WOULD NOT STAY HERE AGAIN

I really appreciated the quick check-in and such nice staff. The only thing that bothered me, is we paid to stay for one night at a pretty high rate and our bathroom had mold and the paint was peeling on the ceiling of the bathroom. I don't expect perfect, but for the price, I wasn't expecting mold either. My daughter is allergic to mold so she discovered it first.

Our room had dead bugs on the bed, the bathroom door showed lots of water damage and the room did not look adequately vacuumed. The continental breakfast consisted of raw doughnuts which none of my kids could eat. Will not stay there again, even though the rating was “positive”.

Only stayed 1 night but excellent overall, very good value and very clean. The only downside is the traffic noise. Tractor trailers had an annoying habit of using their loud jake brakes at night.

It seems like this hotel had a fresh upgrade. We were traveling with parents and sharing a room, so it was nice to have a small partition to divide the two queen beds. The room was open & spacious with plenty of room. The breakfast was pretty basic, but did have biscuits and gravy and make your own waffles, plus cereal, yogurt, etc. This will definitely be a hotel on our favorite list while traveling through this area in the future.

It was me and my fiancé and we got the room with the jacuzzi tub, because we used our hotels.com app and had some extra points to use.. we LOVED it! It had a bar, a jacuzzi tub, a bathroom with a shower/tub, queen size bed, NICE tv with hbo & all the movie channels.. I mean this room had it all.. we’ll definitely return! So nice and clean. We felt like we were something!! One thing we noticed was breakfast ends at 9:30am and usually it lasts longer in other hotels so we missed it ;( but that’s our faults!! Other than that.. staff was great, room was great, pool was great..

We loved how easy it was to check in and out. The room and bath were clean and the bed was comfortable. The only negative was the incredibly loud noise when anyone in the next rooms showered. Drowned out the TV!

I got to the hotel after the JMU football game to check in and the two people at the front desk looked like they had seen a ghost when I said my name. After a fun game of “could the room be under another name” I showed them the Orbitz email-ironically it was asking how my check in went-they had given my room away! They allegedly called me -I asked at what number was given a strange phone number. The young lady had the nerve to be rude and ask if she was supposed to telepathically know my number. No apology or explanation. I was extremely lucky to find a lovely room at the Hampton Inn South on a football weekend.

We stayed one night, (last night May 9) very comfortable. The problem is, my credit card was charged for close to $400 more than it should have,( I had already paid for the room) in 5 different transactions. One being over $100 for a lg, unregistered pet, the last one was declined because they maxed out my card. And several others. Called them when I got to my final destination. The nice lady said they would reverse all the charges, but it would take 3-5 days. That’s unacceptable.

Very disappointed with the breakfast. No eggs or sausage. It is a step above a continental breakfast. No juice machine. OJ was iced and diluted. No name brand of yogurt had alot of fillers. Only white bread, plain bagels, frozen glazed doughnuts. Because of this will not stay here again
