The best part was the views from the hotel, most rooms have a direct view of the lake and the sunset was magical. You can also walk to the largest Sitka spruce from the hotel. The staff was also quite nice, and there's free coffee, tea, and other hot drinks in the shop/lobby. Having a convenience store on site (ran by the hotel mgt) is also great since the location is so remote. Some negative parts, especially when keeping in mind the steep price of the room ($300/night): - A bit outdated rooms: sofa bed was pretty destroyed, the queen bed felt small and uncomfortable, our coffee machine didn't work (we checked the plugs and the switches several times). - Room not super clean, since they're a bit outdated, it is generally not very well dusted and the vents on the windows were especially dusty. As someone with allergies, this was a big deal. - No bathroom in the lobby (shop), so if you arrive before check-in after a long drive, if you need the restroom, you have to go to a port-a-potty... - The shop is also only open from later in the morning, so if you're up early, you won't be able to get your free coffee until later. Overall, I don't regret staying there, and I enjoyed the overall area, but I don't feel like it was very worth the money.

We loved our time here. Just a few steps from the lake with beautiful, calm views. Very convenient location with quick access to a small shop, facilities, restaurants, trails, ranger station, gas station, and more Staff was kind and attentive to our family. Would recommend!
