Umpqua Valley Hotel

I have a hard time with stairs. But the staff was very helpful. Carried my bags up the stairs for me.

Stairs were very steep, high steps, narrow. I'm older and had to carry one bag at a time. Pretty good complimentary breakfast with sausage, eggs, waffles, bagels, coffee, OJ, Etc.

Good for the price but it does not have an elevator.

Room had been cleaned but the a/c was dusty and made the room musty. Area a bit sketchy but didn’t really feel unsafe. Dennys within a 2 minute walk. Older facility with parking under, which made good shade, but no elevator. Wouldn’t have picked this site for that reason if we had seen that in the info, as stairs are an issue for us. But the staff - we met several— were friendly and helpful.

This hotel provided just what we needed for our travels. Clean comfortable bed, close parking, available and attentive staff, morning coffee and food. It’s very dated, with a questionable surrounding location, but the owners are clearly trying to run the best no-frills location they can without investing in updating.

Good accommodations above the street-level parking. (No elevator) Decent breakfast. Clean, comfortable and quiet.

The staff was lovely but the hotel is shabby. A homeless? person on a bike parked his bike and circled around the parking lot. The entrance to the back room stairs has been broken so it is inaccessible by key card if the door has slammed shut and is unlocked otherwise. There was a jagged hole in the ceiling in the hallway. I could clearly hear a conversation Nextdoor at 4 am. The bed was clean and comfortable but the bathroom was not properly cleaned. It was inexpensive so I didn’t have great expectations but was below subpar.

Everything was good except for the strong ammonia smell

The floors were completely dirty. Our feet and socks were black. The couches in the suite had stains on them that you can visibly see. Same with the sheets on the bed. The smell in the whole place was horrible.

This was the most horrifying hotel experience I have ever had. The toilet in the bathroom was covered in urine and faces, inside and outside the bowl. The shower had hair in it and dried splashes on the walls because it hadn’t been cleaned. There was an old used towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door. The front desk moved me to another room which was a little better but still had hair in the sink and greasy hand prints on the headboard and after the first room I had zero faith the the sheets had even been changed. It was so bad that I left in my pajamas and went to another hotel. Which leads me to my next complaint. Expedia would not refund me because the hotel was unwilling to issue a refund. I was offered $25 in Expedia cash in place of a refund, which is less than half of the cost of the room. I am not sure what is more awful, this hotel or Expedia. I used this company because I assumed that I was guaranteed a clean room and if not they should ensure their customers mo why is safe. I will NEVER use Expedia again and I recommend you don’t either. Otherwise you may end up in a filthy room with nothing more than a “wow bummer” from Expedia.

An old building transformed into a hotel, with smelly rooms (tobacco painted). Carpets are very dirty in the rooms and hallways. The furniture in the rooms is dirty, walls need fresh paint. The bathrooms are a little updated and they were clean as well as the sheets and towels. The breakfast was the cherry on the cake: horrendous.

We wouldn’t stay more then one night there, staff was friendly, the complimentary breakfast was ok not enough food though was put out. Shower was not clean, lots of hair on the walls. Overall ok but not staying there again, you get what you pay for

Our room was awesome! Nice size, loved having the living room area in the next room. Didn't like the stairs! The stairs were awkward and hard to climb. No elevator so had to walk carefully up the stairs. The stairs were off balanced and crooked. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Great breakfast!

very personal interaction with staff. Front desk check in clerk was very clear in explaining the security deposit policy and use of credit card(s). Room was comfortable and had everything. The noise of people coming up the stairs was a bit disturbing for our assigned room .

Just an older hotel, carpet in the room is well worn, stairs up had a lot of paint dusting from the walls. It was quiet though & staff that checked me in was very friendly as was the gentleman when I checked out. Breakfast was fine too

Matt at the front desk was very friendly, had no issue accommodating a last-minute (11pm) online booking and taking care of a room issue. Great service! Even for a value hotel, I feel the rooms could have been cleaner. For example, there were some brown spots on my toilet bowl rim, always unpleasant to see. Also, the system gave me a room that appeared to be undergoing renovation. I wish this didn't happen. Fortunately, Matt resolved it swiftly. Everything else is as expected for a value-oriented hotel. Amenities are dated but fully functional. My room had working AC, microwave, fridge, TV, small coffee maker. Decor is plain, but that is to be expected. Price is budget-friendly.

It’s a stop! The only thing great about this place was easy access off the highway and the attendant, he was great and made the check-in process relatively easy while answering my questions. We asked for non smoking and as soon as we walked into the room you had the pungent smell of smoke, it was like chewing tobacco. We had the guest next to us pound our wall a few times early in the morning, the shower pipes started making a loud noise after 5 minutes in the shower. The rug looked dirty and there was no elevator so I had to lug my luggage up the stairs. I specifically selected this hotel from my hotels app and the rate. I mean I did get what I paid for, frankly I think it was overpriced.

Overall a good clean basic place to stay. A bit dated but ok. Great easy to walk to dining. Good breakfast options

Let us be clear. I paid under $100 for a suite, 2 rooms. The quality of the everything was way above this rated level of hotel. A decent place. Staff nice. Room clean. Breakfast fine.

We got there at 3:30am and the man working was so kind and helpful. He made our check in quick and even helped us with the doors when we had our hands full with our bags. The kindness was wonderful!

Easy check in and out

Economical room, but it had great toiletries, the most comfortable hotel bed I've slept in in years, and the staff was friendly and helpful from check in and check out. Great shpwer with good water pressure and close to town amenities. I would highly recommend this as an overnight stop on a longer trip, or as a place to stay when you're enjoying the town.

For the price it is nice. It's not 5 star, but for a quick overnite it's fine. Desk people are really nice.

Night and morning staff were very friendly and welcoming. Made our stay pleasant.

The Baymont was good for budget-friendly accommodations. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Our first room was smelly, so we changed rooms without a problem. Breakfast was eggs, sausage, waffles, and the usual cereal and toast. Microwave and fridge in room.

The staff was exceptionally friendly, likeable and helpful. Enjoyed our stay!

Convenient to walk to downtown for restaurants. Bridge not lit for walking after dark. Staff very friendly. Many homeless in the area.

The free breakfast was not the best. I was disappointed when I tried to make my waffle. The griddle was hot but there was no mix!

Check in was awesome wonderful experience, friendly, kind and clear on all the information and directions. Check out was the same friendly offered assistance. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, clean kitchen, dining room and bedroom.

Worked well for our one night stay. Everything was clean and we appreciated the full breakfast. Some things look a little shabby (paint chipping). Staff was friendly.
