Highland Resort Hotel and Spa

The highlight of my trip was this hotel. The hotel offered a lot of amenities that I didn't know it had when booked originally. It's walking distance to the bus station which had shuttles from Tokyo and to Gotemba which made our Japan travel so accessible. The hotel also offers their own free shuttle that goes around different stops in Fujiyoshida along with Lake Kawaguchi so you definitely have options of things to do and places to go. The hotel also is located walking distance from an amusement park (free admission when booking with the hotel) along with a few cute theme 'parks'. The food was amazing with a lot of choices (buffet, western restaurant, and japanese restaurant). The room we booked was huge...maybe a little too big for two of us but I'm not complaining. Our room faced Mt. Fuji and we were lucky enough to have a clear view of it. I'm definitely booking here again. It was so worth it.

The property is next to a public onsen, an amusement park, Fujiyama Museum. All free admission when you show your room card Also Don Quixote is 3 minutes drive away. The view of Mt Fuji from our room was amazing, more so from the breakfast room. The breakfast buffet was incredible, with endless choices. Would love to stay here longer.

Free bus shuttle service to nearby attractions. Free entry to Fuji Highland Q theme park (must pay to use facilities). Some dining options within 10 mins' walking distance. Don Don Donki is opp the hotel.

This is the best hotel that i have stayed during recent Japan Trip. Clean and tidy, enjoyed the skyroof tour and spectacular. Fuji view. Onsen is among one of the best hotel facilities. There's free shuttle to Kawaguchiko station during normal time, if you plan to leave early, need to walk 1.3km to nearest bus stop or Fuji Q Highland train station .

Resort was a perfect mix. One side had a grand view of Mt. Fuji, the other side looked out into the theme park (Fuji Q Highlands). Hotel Guests had free access to the Onsen next door and had an enclosed walkway for access. The onsen was clean and had a great payment system for items you need (vending machines, souvenirs etc...); electronic bracelet that allowed you to purchase from venders & souvenir stoors. Final Payment for services at a kiosk on the way out.

Excellent choice for families looking for a clean and well-located hotel in Fujiyoshida to explore the lakes and surroundings of Mount Fuji. On a clear day, the magnificent view of Fujisan is amazing! The easy access to hot spring was also a nice added benefit for our stay.

The hotel is right next to the amusement park and bus station. Very convenient location, you also have access to the onsen next door as a hotel guest. Truly loved my stay here.

温泉施設が少し離れていますが、広くて清潔で泉質が良く、とても良かったです。あかすりもとても良かったです。朝食バイキングの会場の窓が大きく開放的な雰囲気で、目の前に富士山がよく見れて最高の朝食でした。

Pros: - room we booked had excellent view of Mt Fuji, 10/10 - room also had a massage chair which we availed fully - mist sauna shower in our bathroom also 10/10 - hotel is directly connected to Fujiyama Onsen - they also offer a special trip to their rooftop for an unobstructed view of Mt Fuji (500 JPY/pax) - they also offer a coupon which you can use to go to Fujiyama Terrace in the Fuji Q Highland area Cons: - hotel does not have USB charging ports - dinner buffet was a bit pricey at 7000JPY/pax and not much options Would definitely book again in the future!

Hotel direkt am Freizeitpark mit Blick auf Fuji und ideal, um Gegend zu erkunden. Nutzung des öffentlichen Onsen ohne Kosten möglich und auch die Parkplätze sind frei. Kleines aber gemütliches Zimmer mit neu gestaltetem Bad und vielen kleineren Annehmlichkeiten. Top Frühstück!!

Spotless, beautiful room with wonderful amenities! I thought that the staff worked very hard on making the stay as enjoyable as possible.

Room was quite small for its price and cleanliness could be improved, there were squashed bugs on the wall in my room. Great location for if you are visiting Fuji Q Highland

There was bugs in our bed. Why can’t I upload a pic here? We took a picture. That’s why it was so itchy when we woke up.

We booked this hotel for it’s Mt.Fuji view, although the day we stayed there it’s very cloudy, our bad luck. The view would have been stunning. The hotel provide free onsen located next to the hotel through a connected walkway. The bathroom inside the hotel room can be turned into a sauna, with jet heads coming out from the wall for massage. The room wasn’t clean though, with visible big stains all over the couch. Pretty gross if you pay a 4-star price for this. And the bed is uncomfortable with a tiny flat pillow. However, the service staff was very nice. They walked us to our rooms with our luggages. And when we ask for wine glasses they promptly bring to our door.

Hallway to onsen could have the floor redone. Dust in common areas. Everything else was excellent.

Clean and spacious room with nice view facing Mount Fuji. Free parking.

Staff were very friendly and attentive. We had the Mountain View double view, there were lots of stains on the carpet, the bed sheets were silk and kept slipping off the bed. The mountain view was good but only if you stood right at the window.

館内も部屋もとても清潔で機能的。 シャワーやドライヤーはRifa。 空気清浄機やアメニティも備えてあり快適だった。 素晴らしい富士山を眺めながらの朝食も、宿泊者は駐車場も無料なのも全てが良かった。 また行きたい。

AC did not work but was fixed after I told the staff about the problem. Window in room always had condensation on it. Room was small for 3 people. Staff was very good. View from room was wonderful. Amenities were good.

Everything you need for a comfy stay at Fuji-Q Highland. My room had a fantastic view of Mt Fuji (highly recommend). The hotel itself is a little 'of its time', but the facilities are all still clean and tidy. The Onsen is a real treat, breakfast buffet was huge and also a fantastic view from the dining room, and also the room had the best shower on my entire trip. Thanks

Room was spacious and well appointed with a great view of Mt Fuji. The bathroom was large with an oversized tub. The hotel feels high end even though it’s beside an amusement park. The free bus stops right outside and takes you into town to experience Mt. Fuji, Lake Kawaguchi and many restaurants. We did not eat at the hotel so have no insight into the restaurant.

The hotel is lovely. The room with the Mt.Fuji view was big with a couch & chair from which we could view the mountain to our heart’s content. The shower/bath was large and comfortable. The beds were firm. The room was clean. The staff was accommodating. Fuji-Q amusement park is next door, but there was no noticeable noise in the hotel. 7-11 is on property. There are multiple options available for food. Our only complaint is that the transportation options from the rail station were not explained anywhere on the website, and we finally had to opt for a taxi (which was still difficult to get). There was actually a shuttle bus running for easy access, but we had no way to know that. I would recommend this hotel.

Der Park ist direkt in der Umgebung, alles aber relativ rostig und alt. Dauerbeschallung in den Hotelfluren. Die Ansagen des Parks sind in Zimmerlautstärke auf den Zimmern zu hören. Personal sehr freundlich und bemüht. Frühstück gut, aber wenig Abwechslung. Bushaltestelle und Konbini direkt am Hotel. Fußwege, zB zum Bahnhof, auf Google Maps sind schwierig. Unbedingt innerhalb der Parköffnungszeiten durch den Park gehen um schnell zum Hotel zu gelangen oder den kostenlosen, aber selten fahrenden Shuttlebus nehmen.

The hotel is convenient and easy to get buses from/to. As the weather was terrible and we had come to see Mt Fuji this did not help. The rtoms are old and dated and need to be made more

The room was spacious and clean with a beautiful/perfect view of Mt. Fuji. We will come back again!

Amzing property with fantastic views of Mt Fuji - make sure you book this side of the hitel, you wont be disappointed. Also, one of the best showers I've seen in a hotel room - now I want one for home :)

The stay was excellent. The service truly stands out: the staff is extremely kind, attentive, and always willing to help, taking care of every detail, from assisting with luggage to ensuring comfort throughout the entire stay. Everything works perfectly and the environment is impeccable. There is absolutely nothing negative to point out. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish, and I would definitely stay here again.

I would never ever stay here again! The staff was terrible. Not helpful at all. No one spoke English whatsoever even though it is supposed to be a bilingual hotel. All they would say is “I don’t know”. You are trapped unless you have a car there is no bus service and the concierge was never there. Their big claim is the onsen but it’s like Disneyland - I’m not going in if there’s 50 people ages 3-80 in it. Under 18 shouldn’t be there. Good was terrible and way overpriced. Their exclusive Japanese restaurant was poor quality and way overpriced. Just a really bad experience.

The service, the food, the ease of getting to and from the train station were all fantastic. The staff here went all out to provide five-star service!

Staying at the Highland Resort Hotel & Spa was an incredible experience from start to finish. The convenience alone is fantastic — the Highland Express bus drops you off right in front of the hotel! But the moment you arrive, you realize this place is something special. The hotel is stunning — it almost feels like stepping into a movie scene, especially at night when the lights twinkle beautifully. The lobby and rooms are spacious and elegant, and we were lucky to have a breathtaking view of Mt. Fuji right from our window. Waking up to that view every morning felt surreal. And the breakfast buffet? Absolutely unforgettable. There’s nothing quite like enjoying a delicious meal while looking out at the majestic Mt. Fuji. The hotel offers so many great amenities — access to one of the best onsens, private entry to the theme park, and shuttle service to nearby attractions around Mt. Fuji. Everything is thoughtfully designed to make your stay as easy and enjoyable as possible. But what truly makes this hotel stand out is the staff. The team here genuinely cares about their guests, and their kindness and professionalism go above and beyond. A special thank you to them for helping me recover a bag I had accidentally left on a bus — they took the time to contact the bus company and provide me with all the details I needed. They were also very patient and reassuring when my luggage was delayed, keeping an eye on things until it arrived safely. It’s the people who make a place memo

受付が不親切すぎる。サービスの説明をしてくれなかったり、感じが物凄く悪い。その他は全て素晴らしいのに受付が残念

The hotel is beautiful but the service was disappointing. The staff offered no help of my luggage when I was checking in during a stormy night. I had to carry all my luggage from my car to the counter and up to my room MYSELF. After that I had to go down and drive my car to the car park…Unbelievably such a beautiful hotel in Japan gave no help to a helpless solo traveller.

I report the front desk staff that my room AC did not work when I check out. He did not say anything and no response at all. He just asked me to sign the credit card payment. this is very rude and a bad service happening in such a high-end hotel.

Super spacious and clean room! View of Mt Fuji was awesome! Bus from Tokyo stops right at the hotel, no need for further transfer. To get to Kawaguchiko, free hotel transfer every hour. Super convenient! Free onsen for hotel guests. Hotel is within Fuji-Q Park! Will still stay here if visit Mt Fuji again! Walk a little for food though.

Great place to relax in fujiyoshida. It’s a bit of walk to the train station and there is not much around the area of the hotel other than the amusement park. But the highway bus stop is conveniently in front of the hotel.

Nice hotel for a few nights near Mt. Fuji including a good onsen spa. Public transport to and from the hotel is limited.

The room was very clean and comfortable and the bathroom was well equipped. The view of Mount Fuji was exceptional. We appreciated having a couple of extra seats and plenty of room for luggage. We did wish that the bed had more than two pillows. We looked around but could not find any extras in the room itself. A couple extra pillows would have made for more comfortable sleeping. The east access to the amusement park as well as the Onsen were added bonuses. However, it is important to note that accessing other areas of the town from the hotel is very difficult by foot, especially this time of year when it gets dark early. The free shuttle was convenient, but didn't run very late in the evening so wasn't something we could rely on to get dinner. Having easier access to the sidewalk near the hotel would be an improvement.

A really nice hotel that is connected to an amusement park and is a drop off location for the Tokyo-Mt.Fuji bus line. Limited dining within walking distance (besides hotel restaurants) with the exception of the really good Cafe Brioche which has light dinner, breakfast options, pastries and coffee/beer/wine. Hours are 9am-8pm. The free sightseeing bus picks up several times a day for the Kawaguchiko train station which has all the tourist/sightseeing options and is in walking distance of the lake.

The room was outstanding and breakfast was amazing. Service is outstanding. Amazing views of Highland Q and Mt. Fuji.

The room was very large by Japanese standards and very comfortable. The onsen was very good. I definitely recommend all except the Macaroni restaurant which is my only complaint. Service here was exremely slow and arrived at the table randomly, and the food was okay but not worth it.

Passei uma noite nesse hotel com o meu marido e nós simplesmente adoramos. Chegamos cedo e eles guardaram nossas malas até o horário do check in. Quando voltamos após os passeios pela cidade, nosso quarto estava pronto com as malas dentro. O quarto era amplo e tinha uma vista sensacional para o Monte Fuji, demos a sorte de pegar dois dias com o tempo muito bom. O restaurante do 4º andar tem uma janela enorme que fica em frente ao Monte Fuji, foi maravilhoso fazer nossas refeições lá. O café da manhã incluído na reserva tinha muitas opções orientais e boas opções ocidentais também. O jantar que pagamos por fora achei um pouco caro, mas valeu pela vista e pela enorme oferta de comidas (o esquema era 1h30 de buffet liberado por um preço fixo). Também fizemos uma refeição no restaurante italiano no térreo e mais uma vez tinha uma linda vista para o Fuji. Outra experiência maravilhosa foi o Onsen que tem ligação por dentro do hotel. Para hóspedes é grátis e achamos uma experiência muito relaxante! Vale a pena visitar para vivenciar uma atividade típica do Japão. No segundo dia fomos ao parque de diversões que se encontra em frente ao hotel e foi mais uma ótima experiência. Compramos os Tickets na recepção do hotel e você entra no parque por uma passagem por dentro do hotel. Se quiser, pode entrar 30 min antes do parque abrir. Por último, o hotel fica localizado em frente à estação de ônibus FujiQ (1 min andando). Recomendo muito a estadia aqui!

写真で見るよりは、さびれた感じのするホテルで、レストランのビュッフェもあまり手の込んだものはなく、値段に見合わない気がしました。 温泉も、ホテルから遠いところにあり不便でした。

朝食のビュッフェを利用しました。 席までの案内から退席までスタッフは連携が取れており、動きも機敏、声掛けいただく雰囲気も感じ良く、非常に気持ちの良い時間を過ごしました。 おにぎりコーナーの女性は、私が子供と｢鮭が食べたいね｣と会話をするや否や即座に2人分の鮭おむすびを握ってくださいました。 制限無く大量のゲストを一気に流し込むビュッフェと異なり、大変行き届いた空間だと思いました。 また利用させて頂きます。

Excelente hotel con una vista increíble al Monte Fuji, el desayuno muy bueno y sobre todo tiene de todo, desde que uno llega el staff nos recibio de una forma muy cortez y resolvieron todas nuestras dudas, el restaurante italiano Macaroni tiene una gran comida si chef se preocupa por todos los detalles y la comida es 10 de 10.

The buffet for breakfast and dinner were amazing and is set on the fourth floor with stunning views of Mt. Fuji on one side and the Fuji-Q amusement park on the other. Lots of food options, too. We had dinner there with friends our first night and were impressed that the steak, sushi, stew and other Japanese dishes were as good as any we had in Japan. Meanwhile, the pizza had the slightly charred but still soft crust we love. At breakfast, they had mini pancakes, made-to-order omelettes and plenty of traditional Japanese dishes. Our room was the most spacious we experienced in Japan (not like a room in the U.S. but big for Japan) and had a stunning view of Mount Fuji. The resort is literally at the foot of the mountain so it looms large outside the window. My wife and her sisters loved the on-site onsen, which is segregated by gender (full nudity only - no clothing allowed as per the Japanese custom). It was cool, too, that the hotel opens onto the entrance to the amusement park, which is linked with a couple cool France-themed gift shops and cafes. The coffee and pastries were just as good as we've had in Paris despite being at a somewhat kitschy theme park. The place is just fun and set in an area of amazing beauty - and even has a bus station on-site where you can schedule transportation with all your luggage to major spots in Tokyo and other cities with Shinkansen connections. Staff was wonderful. All positives.
