We’ve stayed here several times and have always been very happy with our stay. A lovely place, and we’ll definitely be back again!

The accommodation was generally clean and family-friendly, with a nice space for the kids to play. However, the heater in the bedroom wasn’t very effective, while the living room heater made the whole place very hot and dry because the temperature was difficult to control. There were also no tissues, and basic cooking essentials such as oil, salt, and pepper weren’t provided. The sofa bed was more like a bed, so it wasn’t very practical for the kids to sit and play, and the TV was tucked away in a corner, making it less useful. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, but there are a few areas that could be improved.

The lodge was very well maintained and the staff were helpful and kind enough to sort us into a room even though id accidentally booked the wrong nights stay. Our room was clean, warm, and comfortable. The fully equipped kitchen was useful to keep costs down by cooking our own food. There was a large lounge/dining space which was plenty big enough to share with other guests and they kept the fire going for us so everyone was cosy. A good selection of toys/books/games for children/families and our 3 year old loved being able to befriend and play with other children. 10/10 for our first family trip to whakapapa.
