Wonderful hotel, our family with 3 teen/adult children loved the grown up bunk beds, the slide into the lobby, faux drinks from the bar and hanging out in the various relaxed seating areas. There's a diner on site and the beach is steps away. The pool looked wonderful and beautifully lit, (but is in the sight of every hotel room in case you are shy). Lots of wonderful dogs too! Hip music in the lobby but not too loud. We worried it would be too um, "liberal" for us but our hillbilly conservative family felt at home in this friendly hotel. The bunk bed room seemed small but was a great use of space. Each person had a huge bunk to relax on, but no sitting area which was fine for us. The spacious and beautiful sitting and entertainment areas in the lobby were great for that. Typical oceanfront private balcony with a nice view of the beach. Not a lot of storage space in the room except a few drawers under the bunks. Tiny fridge. No blackout curtains but the light from the boardwalk wasn't terrible. Nowhere to eat if you prefer meals in your room. The bathroom was interesting, beautiful glass door shower but a frosted glass sliding door into the bathroom that was a little off putting for some family members. You could keep the light off for more privacy.

The hotel was in a great location. It lacked several amenities and was short-staffed. They usually only had one person working the front desk. The valet parking in the lot across the street made no sense. The pool towels were like large wash cloths.

The Moxy staff was extremely friendly. I was able to check into my room early. The valet was easy to use! The pool was fun and the view of the beach can’t be beat!

Everything was perfect everything was clean but i did see 1 roach an i was shocked other than that oh and the parking situation sucks valet or overnight parking available only its $11 a day for valet ... $23 for 8hrs and $33 for 24hrs in the other parking lot

Cleanliness needs to be improved. Hallways were dirty and they definetely do not clean the floors between guests (not carpet) and i could see spots of dirt on the floor. Other than that the location is great, staff is great, dinner on site has an amazing night pop up kitchen. The vibe is good at this location

I feel like I should have been paid to stay here. This was listed as a top choice for the area, that rating needs to change. I could not believe this is associated with Marriott properties. The hotel was being operated by a bunch of young adults, first red flag. Upon entry, I was shocked on the minimum space. They tell you, it’s intentionally made this way to force you to mingle outside your room. I had more space on the balcony! I sprayed everything down with Lysol and wiped it all down. Nothing could have prepared me for stains on my sheets or hair all over the bathroom fixtures. I called downstairs and they apologized and came to change the sheets and “wipe down.” I should have checked out then but my husband fell in love with the balcony view. We were close to the boardwalk, we stayed. The cleaners need to be retrained on hotel operating standards. Training was serve the whole staff and support staff some good. This hotel is not worth the cost, stay somewhere else if you can. This location does not make Marriott look like a reputable company.

The concept of a hotel where you're trying to get folks to come out of their rooms is cute but not really practical. Most people are wanting to rest and get away from it all. They probably have excursions and family outings planned. They may be working and want to have a microwave in the room. So, I wasn't crazy about not having a microwave or fridge in my room. I was also not happy with my room location. It was not "oceanfront " at all but had a parking lot and a couple of roads as my view. It also had a small body of water that I could see. Needless to say, I didn't get any rest because lots of people use the roads to ride very loud motorcycles, trucks, etc. If I had known that, I would never have booked there. Lastly, the carpeting in the hallway on my floor was disgracefully dirty. It smelled awful. I almost turned around to go to another hotel. I was disappointed with all of the dogs everywhere and didn't feel comfortable laying on the bed. I did enjoy the bar/games area and was able to have a little fun there. Overall, cute concept hotel, but not for most people, in my opinion.

Clean rooms with excellent views. Some issues with getting new shower soaps getting delivered (took 2 days and several requests). The rooms are small but the fun is downstairs. Won’t need to spend too much time in your room.

All of the amenities are amazing. The two of us had a blast, overall. Expect dark and gloomy hallways, and very small rooms. Also note, there is no microwave or refrigerator in the room. However, they do have accommodations in the lobby for everyone to use!

The location was great and I selected this property because it was newly constructed. However, the room had no hot water from the sink and maintenance could not fix it. The shower knob fell off. The sink is a bit too small. Will not stay here again. Disappointed.

Clean room, dog friendly, ocean front with balcony, great staff. I like a hot shower water was warm not hot. 2nd floor was super noisey. Not a problem for me but my wife is a light sleeper. Short stay, overall no major problems. Cool hip designed rooms. Reminds me of Pod hotels or microstyle. Rooms need a fridge.

Loved our room, two queen beds. Plenty of room for us and our 2 dogs. Hotel was very clean. Staff was nice. The hotel uses a valet service and it was really fast and easy to get our truck. Food was within walking distance.
Loved our room, two queen beds. Plenty of room for us and our 2 dogs. Hotel was very clean. Staff was nice. The hotel uses a valet service and it was really fast and easy to get our truck. Food was within walking distance.

I was super impressed with the genuine kindness and incredible efficiency and caring of ALL of the staff. Great personalities all the way around. I could really feel the love in this place. I even asked one of the managers if there was a special training that the staff went through and if so, please share it with the rest of the hospitality business. And if not, the Moxey really picked a fantastic group to work for them and they are lucky to have them. I have bragged about your staff and recommended your hotel to all of my family and friends. And if you have a dog with you, this is the BEST hotel on the beach. What a cool place…loved it…I will be back. Congratulations- Great Job!

Housekeeping was rare during my 7-day stay, they don’t provide it daily. The bar staff has a horrible attitude, except for literally two people (the only guy and a quirky woman with lightening bolt earrings). Valet lost my keys one morning. There’s only one kitchen on-site and it’s not open everyday and only at certain times. The manager ended up offering me a $700 refund because everything was so bad. Will not stay at this location again. Spend your money at The Cavalier.

We were very disappointed in this Marriot property. Why would Marriot associate their name-to this property I don’t know. I can honestly say, Moxy is not for everyone. They didn’t have bellhops but provided 2 luggage carts. One of the two’s had very low tire pressure and was EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to push or pull. We were informed that the in house restaurant (The Belvedere) was abruptly closed due to TECHINICAL” difficulties. Yes, they couldn’t spell “TECHNICAL” correctly! What a joke. The bathrooms had a toilet and the shower. In the little hallway outside the room door and shower door, was the little basin. Very inconvenient to keep bumping into your spouse. We reported water dripping from the ceiling outside both our room and the room we occupied next door, TWICE! It was leaking when we arrived, 2 days later, it was still dripping. The carpet was soaked and had a moldy smell. What a joke. They did have valets to park your vehicle across the street for $11.00 a day! The valets didn’t even help unloading/loading your vehicle. I would NEVET stay at a MOXY hotel again. If you decide to stay at a Moxy hotel be forewarned!

We reserved the hotel several months in advance. Unfortunately a week before our booking they had a main AC go out and reached out to cancel due to extremely high temps. We were traveling with 4 teenagers to see a concert blocks away and there were not any other realistic options nearby. The assistant general manager, Valerie, reached out to discuss and was ready to do whatever (provide fans if we could handle, the heat, comp the room, etc). The great news is they were able to fix the AC prior to arrival so we were all set. We appreciate management reaching out to do whatever was needed. IN addition, our teenagers really loved the vibe of the hotel including the look and feel and game options of the lobby. great location and the dorm-style 4 queen beds were roomy while the layout of the rooms were smart with hooks and other features to maximize the use of the space. Great last minute stay. They were so friendly, accommodating, and the place was great. We had our doggie with us, she loved hanging on the balcony looking at the beach. We could walk right out to the beach, the showers were right there and the volley ball as well. The bar was amazing! Best martini!!! Our teenage son had an amazing time riding his bike to all of the shops that were so close by. Ice cream right across the street, amazing coffee less than a block away.

The Moxy is a quirky, fun hotel right on Virginia Beach. The rooms are small but updated and comfortable. All the fun happens in the lobby and on the grounds with a lively bar, games, and other activities. The pool looks really great but we were there in April and ot was too cold for swimming. There is no on-site parking but the valet is very responsive. This hotel is on the beach with direct access. The restaurants and beach-type businesses are all within walking distance. It was right priced for the time of year and we would visit again

I would not recommend this property. During our 4-night stay, the on-site dining was closed the entire time, which was a major inconvenience. Our air conditioning never worked at night, and despite reporting the issue to the front desk each morning, it was never resolved. The pool was also dirty throughout our stay. While I encountered a few friendly staff members, most of the staff seemed disengaged. There was little to no effort to maintain common areas or check in with guests, which made the hotel feel more like a college hangout than a professional, well-managed property. I appreciate the vibe the hotel is aiming for, but the execution falls short. For the price I paid, the experience was disappointing and not worth the cost—honestly, it should have been half the price. Marriott should seriously reconsider putting its name on this hotel.

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Hands down. Starting off strong on the fourth floor, absolutely zero water pressure. I’ve had more PSI from a urine source after a jellyfish sting. The garbage can is made for a tissue so if you eat in the hotel room, it’s gonna be on your bed and the trash will remain somewhere random. Zero dressers or drawers for clothes so you won’t be unpacking. The Diner was abismal. Negating the ice water dropped in my friends lap, the bacon was charred beyond recognition and when asked for a replacement, they brought more burnt bacon. Even worse, the place was closed for THREE MONTHS and they served the food anyway. My French toast was moldy and the “chef” said it was char. The “toast” was tan. The waitress agreed it was mold. There are 100+ hotels on the boardwalk and surrounding area, literally pick anything else. So cute yall charge $3.00 for a bowl of cereal and another $5 for a small thing of milk. It’s my own fault for staying somewhere contracted to support ICE. Had I know ANY of this I’d never have booked a MARRIOT.

Our first stay at a Moxy style hotel and we loved it. The staff at the Virginia Beach Moxy were Fantastic, their attitude, friendliness and professionalism made our stay the best. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. Go spend some time at the Moxy you need it! Oh and this includes the Belvedere diner staff as well. We ate there every day of our stay sometimes twice. The breakfast service was unbelievable the food was amazing and the staff was even better. How the diner became Kung Food in the evening was genius. Our only issue was we didn’t try it until later in our stay!!! It was amazing!!!!

Close to everything. We went to a concert at The Dome and it was easily walkable. Also the beach is right there. Seems to be safe area. The restaurant is not open. The bar is convenient but the bartenders are not very pleasant even for a simple exchange. The halls and carpets in the halls need a makeover. The halls are dark and the carpet is dirty. The room was great! We had a king with partial ocean view. It was lovely.

Me and my husband stayed here this pass weekend and the customer service was amazing! Valet parking only 11 dollars a day and easy check in. The food we ordered from the bar was pretty good as well as the breakfast! We stayed in their King suite the view was amazing and the room was really cute..The staff left a bday note for my husband..ballon’s and cute messages that were written on the mirrors. Thank you guys so much for putting in the xtra effect! The bed was really comfy as well! I would definitely stay again! The Moxy was a vibe!
