Good spacious family room - two sections, plus a kitchenette (table and chairs, sink, microwave, fridge, coffee machine). Housekeeping was a bit haphazard (left our waste bin bag in the room) and nite the bathroom door is part transparent so not ideal for everyone. Kitchenette was good, and crockery/cutlery available from the hotel bar/restaurant. Close to Zaandam station and centre for shops and restaurants, big supermarket just 1 minute away. Not the most glamorous spot but very handy and very close to nice areas. Recommend Citybikes bike rental, and easy cycle to Zaanse Schans on lovely paths, or c.50 minute cycle to Amsterdam centre.

First of all I was given an amount to pay at property by hotels.com and once there it was nearly double the amount I had to pay. The staff were lovely and helpful and I knew it wasn’t their fault, it was hotel.com’s fault. Anyway they wouldn’t refund me, instead put the amount on my account so the only way I will get that money back is to book with them again 😡.The room was fine but could be done with a bit of attention. The wallpaper was coming off in areas, the roof was marked in areas and the floor was filthy.not enough cutlery or plates and we couldn’t use the fridge as it was warmer than the room. Breakfast was fine. Good choice and the staff were lovely. Only big downside was my daughter’s AirPods went missing. Didn’t have time to report to police as we were flying home that morning but the lady we spoke to was going to see if housekeeping knew anything but still today those AirPods are having a great time floating about the Netherlands 😠. Zanndam is lovely. Lots of shops and restraints. Hotel 10 minute walk from train station.

The hotel was OK, but there are some points to be aware of. Surroundings are not very pleasant, rats are roaming around the car park. Also the corridors of the hotel had the distinctive Amsterdam smell due to smoking something stronger than cigarettes in the rooms. There is no front desk, check in is self service. There is usually one staff on duty hiding in a corner. But staff is nice and helpful when approached.

Clean and good overall. Easy parking. Only downside - AC was a bit too old/tired did not chill enought during the hot days. And breakfast pretty pricy.
