The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the kitchen staff who prepared breakfast every morning. They were the BEST at keeping it clean and stocked from beginning to end. The hot breakfast was a great start to each day. The lounging area and fireplace are cozy and comfortable. We used the pool and jacuzzi also which were clean and well-maintained. It is the cleanest jacuzzi we've ever experienced and it didn't smell of chemicals. They empty and clean it often. Incredible! The rooms were also kept clean and yet we never saw the housekeeping staff do it. We called them our Room Fairies and they did a wonderful job. The location is perfect. We ate at the Penn Wells Hotel and highly recommend it! The food quality was excellent and surprisingly reasonably-priced and the historic atmosphere is an experience I'm glad we didn't miss. We can't wait to return!

Very convenient location for a visit to Wellsboro. The indoor pool, sauna, and hot tub are great - locals have memberships to use these facilities and will chat with you if you use them. This property is older, and not luxurious, but overall really nice. We like the free breakfast, too!

Great location, king suite was great. We stay several times a year and hardly ever have a negative to mention. Breakfast not so good. Hot tub was out of service and the date to be back in service changed every day until we left...........still the best place in Wellsboro area.

The property is a bit dated but that made it come across as charming given the historic vibe throughout this little town. Staff are very polite. Room was a good size. Some cobwebs and furniture was a little beat up, a spring hanging out of the bottom of a chair. The shower floor had permanent dark stains which was a little icky. Complimentary breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage links, bananas, oatmeal and cereal, muffins and toast. Room included a refrigerator, microwave, and Keurig. Small tv but lots of channels. Free Wi-Fi.

I have stayed here a lot, but this time the room was a dirty, toilet had stains, an old large used soap bar left in the shower, bed had several hairs in it. Hopefully it was an only a one time thing.

Stay away. Bargain pricing should have told us something right from the start. Was to spend 2 days biking the PA Grand Canyon but left a day early because lodge was pretty disgusting. The public areas and stairwells are littered with cigarette butts and are truly filthy. A used coffee cup, 1/2 filled with old coffee and cigarette butts, sat on the stairs for the 24 hours we stayed. A power wash might take care of it but I don’t believe there’s anybody there who could do it. The staff all sit around in the lobby/breakfast area and talk to each other most of the day…felt like we were intruding. The rooms were just beaten to death…not dirty but a bathroom door that wouldn’t close properly, old carpeting, paint scratched off of the trim and an overall damness. Breakfast was decent with a toasted bagel, cereal and pre-made cheese omelettes. The indoor pool was obviously the huge draw for families with young children.

Good - Large room, great shower water pressure. Bad - no elevator to second floor, average breakfast no pancakes or waffle machine. Main hotel closed for winter not informed of this at reservation. Not made aware of fancy west wing part of property and prices for those rooms.average at best tv channels to view.

Two night getaway in wellsboro was relaxing. The lodge check in was effortless. Room was cozy with fireplace. The furniture was not comfy though. Nice refrigerator and microwave. Bed was clean and super comfy. Bathroom needs a new shower curtain and fan vent was filthy. I would recommend the accommodations. Breakfast was free and a nice setup.

This is the noisiest hotel I ever stayed in. Walls seem to be paperthin, you could hear toilets, flushing, showers, running, and people talking. At 6:30 this morning someone was pounding on the walls.!

Nice hotel with pool and hot tub. Rooms were larger than expected. Breakfast was okay for hotel food. We stayed in room 252 which didnt have elevators to the 2nd floor. The bed definitely needs replaced. Quiet and clean. Would stay here again when visiting the PA Grand Canyon.

Advertises elevator when there isn’t one I am older and booked a room for 4 days Carrying bags up and down two flights of steps was awful Ended up falling down steps and fracturing my wrist Had two employees speak to me in 4 days. Will choose another hotel next time

Fifteen to twenty men drinking heavily and being loud, drunk and boisterous outside rooms on lower level until 2:00 AM ... not just one night, but multiple nights. Complaints to staff ... didn't seem to care too much. Certainly will never use this motel again. Stay away unless you are an all night partier youself.

Excellent staff, so very nice and helpful. It was late and my iPhone was almost completely without a charge. I had forgotten my charging block and stopped by the front desk to ask if there was a 24 hour convenience store and she noticed I was carrying my charging wire without the block and asked if I needed a charging block and she said she believed there was a spare handy and she found it immediately. I was so glad. Again thank you ladies.

I cannot believe that you have such a beautiful area and I did not see one recycling container for bottles etc. The breakfast was terrible. Cold eggs(if that is what they were) are not good!!

Odd that the indoor pool hours were 8am-8pm. Given most people's schedules, wouldn't 9am-9pm or 10pm, make more sense? Hot breakfast was good but the same each morning. Funky smell in the elevator. The total facility, however, gets a "A-"!

Pros: Modern hotel. Very friendly staff. Clean. Cons: Breakfast was nothing special. I would have liked a slightly nicer spread. We grabbed something else while on the road. Also, while we did not stay in the older part of the hotel. So, I don't know what that is like.
