Gregory House was pleasant though the facility was quite dated! Bar area was cool fire wood pizza was excellent! Overall a nice stay!! our room had an odor of dog which was unpleasant bathroom was clean water pressure not great!

The inn is attached to a fantastic restaurant and bar, also with a wood fired pizza oven! There was a nice room to hang out as a group, and the room was very quiet at night. A very comfortable stay.

What a great group of folks running this place . . . feels like home. And having a restaurant/bar on site is a huge, huge plus.

Very nice overnuight stay. Everything was good, staff, room, and bed. We also had a good meal at the attached restaurant.

I called ahead for a late check-in and they were happy to accommodate. There was plenty of parking and after calling again so they would unlock the entry they checked us in and got us into our room in no time. We didn't use the common areas but the room was spacious, clean, and quaint. We really enjoyed our stay!

The hotel was very quiet, with a clean room and comfortable bed. The exterior is very rustic, but with unclear/difficult to make out signage. The restaurant was quaint and very good. Make sure you pay attention to the fact that there are no extras with this hotel; no breakfast, no ice, etc.

This Inn is a most peaceful and lovely place to stay. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The restaurant is top notch!! The entire staff is friendly and helpful I will be a regular guest!!

Great and cosy rooms. The only issue we had was lack of running water for a few hours. Other than that, it was great.

This is a very “charming” inn. It is the only option in Averill Park unless you rent a house through VRBO. I stayed here four years ago and thought I would give it a second chance. It is not a BNB, as there is no breakfast, but does have a small Keurig in each room. Every guest room is decorated with a a different theme. The room I stayed in had country quilts and quilted pillow shams, lots of throw pillows, all filled with dust. I woke up stuffed up with itchy eyes. At check in, I found a half used water bottle under the armoire in my room, which leads me to believe the room was not cleaned properly after the last guest.. The carpet in my room was damp and the entire Inn smells musty and moldy. My room lacked outlet’s for charging devices. The property grounds are run down, there are weeds everywhere outside, the walkways are not smooth or level and could be hazardous if not paying careful attention to where you are placing your feet. The Inn itself is dated. The mattresses are old, very uncomfortable, not supportive at all and just in terrible condition. I talked to multiple guests who all said the same thing about the beds. I had no hot water the last two days of my stay, and was told my room was at “the end of the run and they would see if they could get it fixed by morning”, they didn’t get it fixed and I had my second cold shower before I checked out.

This was a great place to stay for the evening. It’s old fashioned but very clean. It’s a great hotel to stay at if you are passing by for the evening.

It was ok, good enough for one night only , our room was not cleaned and front desk did not know until she opened the door for us . Should have offered us a drink at the bar or something . We had to leave and walk up the street to grab a bite to eat and a drink .

Clean & quiet but shower was outdated and barely any water pressure. Electrical outlets could barely hold the plug. Had to put table against it to hold it in.

Our room had no water pressure for showering & the toilet would run constant if the handle wasn’t jiggled. We would have stayed but there were no othe rooms available.

We were pleasantly surprised by this charming spot nestled near the hill towns of upstate New York. Staff could not have been more cheerful, engaging and ready- to-please. Every room is different, and you book the one that appeals to you based on the photos and descriptions. Only wish we'd known that the room we chose was in the front of the Inn on the main road. Still comfortable, but next time we'll call before we book to get better info on room locations. The bar- restaurant was excellent. Also fine dining in a separate, more elegant atmosphere. Highly recommend.

I would stay again and it is now on my “overnight list” as I head to the Whites in New Hampshire. I was in a room facing Route 43. I could hear traffic and an undisciplined dog that barked frequently; I have learned as I travelto bring along a small fan, and I used that to sleep, and it was able to drown out the sounds. I slept perfectly. I was not expecting the high quality of food that is served. I had a very delicious dinner.

we arrived at the inn and was greeted right away. check in was flawless and the room was perfect! small but clean and welcoming. it also had a balcony which was wonderful and used often. the staff was polite and very friendly, it seemed like they really enjoy working there. we will definitely be back. l

I really loved the place.. was cute & cozy, loved the decor & was very clean. I would have given it a perfect rating had the TV worked or been a bit newer, was an old tube Tv & it was stuck on some technicolor download screen the entire time I was there & I tried everything to get it to work & I couldn’t find any staff anywhere to help me.. I ended up relying on my phone to watch some shows before bed. I would totally visit again, I would just make sure I would inquire about the tv working if you need one to fall asleep like I do. Also they could use some mini fridges in the rooms too.. just a suggestion.

Stayed in the cabin room which was super cute. Would have liked black out curtains and a mattress that did not sink in the middle to make this stay perfect! But overall good value for the money.

It was a nice comfortable room and check in and check was very easy. The only thing we didn't like was the noise from the room above where children were running back and forth in the middle of the night. It was so loud it woke us up. I would recommend getting a room on the upper level rather than lower level to avoid that potential situation.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. They made sure my room was what I needed and my stay comfortable and had a homey feel that you don’t get at chain hotels. I would definitely stay there again and if I had more time I would have loved to try the restaurant.

Had a wonderful stay at this place! It is a quaint inn, and the staff was wonderful. I arrived late but they checked me in right away. There was someone playing piano in the receiving room, a few people at the bar/restaurant as well. Other than that, very quiet! I had a great room with a balcony that I enjoyed with a drink at night and morning coffee. I'll be back!

This was a wonderful place to set up a base for exploring the area. We explored the Erie Canal - kayaking through the locks was a highlight! The receptionist at check in found us an amazing ice cream spot - Moxie's is NOT to be missed! And we finished out our visit with dinner at La Perla - a fantastic Italian meal. The room was comfortable - the hotel felt a lot like a B and B (NOT an AirBnB!)

Not much in the immediate area. Had to drive about 20mins to Troy to find more restaurants. Room was clean. Mattress was meh, felt old. Staff that I met seemed nice enough. Place just not for me.

Very comfortable. Each room is decorated differently. The only draw back was when the restaurant was open you had to walk through it to get to your room. I also wish they had a few tables that you didn't need reservations for inorder to enjoy the live band with dinner if staying at the hotel. When we checked in they should have offered a reservation if we intended to dine with them as well. Over all I definitely would recommend this inn.
