Great stay! Pros: easy to find, spacious lobby, clean room, clean & spacious bathroom, complimentary breakfast had great options (including gluten free), pool was clean and their pool towels are the best we’ve ever had (big & fluffy instead of thin and small). Cons: Internet was terrible, even for members. Lighting in room wasn’t enough and there was no exhaust fan in bathroom.

The room smelled bad like musty dirty locker room. Seemed as if the facilities were simply run down & the pool was extremely dirty. Hot tub was broken. Kids were super bummed after a long day of travel. The only reason we booked this hotel was for the hot tub. Staff was very friendly though.

It was better than OK, The hot tub although advertised on the website, and deliniated on a directional sign in the lobby... did not exist. The staff were nice, and helpful. Restaurants and bar within walking distance a plus. I would stay here again.

We wanted a hotel with a hot tub and a pool, guess what? The hot tub was OUT OF ORDER! I guess you need to call the location to verify if all of the amenities that you are paying for are in working order. This was not-big disappointment. It was clean. We asked for a top floor room and that was honored, We were able to check in at 2:25 pm which said it was 3 pm or later check in. It was a good location since we stayed to go to the Paramount Theater that Saturday night. It was relatively quiet and rooms were very nice.

First off the staff was great. But overall I would personally not stay here again. We found one live cricket and a dead crickot in our room.. not sure how it got up to the 4th floor? We also found some kind of stain on the matteress pad... which did not sit well with me.. we had to ask for another one but the front desk lady stated they did not have any more so just gave us another sheet. My husband and I just slept on a two sheeted mattress. Id rather be at home.

We arrived at the hotel and were told they didn’t have the two rooms we booked. We had booked two rooms with two queen beds. They only had king suites left so they said they would give us two of those at the same price as our two queen rooms. The next day I received two receipts from the hotel for $338 but I had $390 charged to my credit card. While staying here there were cockroaches found in the door jams of rooms. Some rooms were filthy and stunk for some of our friends who checked in as well. It was an awful experience. I don’t understand how they can charge me more than the receipts said

Had a bug crawling in the bed where I was sleeping told the manager about it took a picture of it and she tells me it was only one bug and it’s OK. It wasn’t harmful. and another thing had to wait in the lobby when I got there for over an hour and missed the main reason why I came to Cedar Rapids this was a very bad trip overall!!!!!

Although not bad, just not up to the standard of Fairfield Inn most Fairfield Inn have a mini Keurig in the room. (which is why when we travel we bring extra K cups, so that we can have coffee in our room with no issues and having traveled much at many Fairfield. That’s always been the case )These did not, they did, however, have the older drip version of a coffee maker, but then you need the coffee packs. also the lighting was extremely dark in the room just two lights by the bed. Definitely, reading was not an option. The staff was friendly and so there were no issues there.

Our room was quiet and clean. We stayed 4 nights and opted for housekeeping on day 2. The bed was hard but the pillows were better than most hotel pillows. Bigger and much more supportive. The tv in our room had limited channels compared to the lobby. I had to watch the basketball game from the lobby which was fine. We would stay again but would choose a larger room as there was not much room and no easy chair. Options were to sit on the bad or a hard office chair. The hot tub was closed off and empty. Bummer we were looking forward to relaxing in the hot tub.

The walls are a bit thin so you will likely hear much background noise. The outside is well lit, which feels more safe but also has a lot of light that comes into the room around the drapes. A bit annoying but not intolerable.

Air/Heat noisy and hard to control. Bathroom: baseboards had unsightly grout on top of them. Shower heavy scratched. Need more closet space. Drawers under the vanity would have been nice. Bed was very comfortable.

The one complaint we have, is the room was not much larger than a closet. The room was located next to the linen room and is made for 1 person at most. Since we were paying the same as those in normal sized rooms, we feel we got short changed.

The hotel itself was fine. The lobby and breakfast area was clean and comfortable. The pool was stifling hot and humid though. Breakfast was good and a lot of healthy choices compared to other places we stayed. Our room was a standard king and again, compared to other places we’ve stayed, it was small and compact but it was clean. Our room heater was very, very noisy! The daytime staff were friendly but the nighttime staff person was not very friendly. She was efficient and kept things running smoothly, but it would have been nice to feel welcomed and be greeted with a smile and a hello. Despite the issues listed, we’d probably stay there again if the price was good.

Unfortunately there wasn't any television service. My husband was not happy! As he prefers to have something to muffle the surrounding hotel room to muffle noises. And one last thing, there is not an exhaust fan in the bathroom.

Overall the stay was ok for an overnight trip. When we checked in, the attendant acted bored and annoyed we were there. She rushed through the check in process and seemed irritated when we asked questions. It was a busy night in the area and we had gotten the last avaliable room. As a result, the hotel was louder than we expected with lots of banging and stomping from the room above us. Location was easy to get to, and there were lots of restaurants in the area.

The staff at this facility doesn't understand the ADA standards for service dogs or service dogs in training. The manager informed me that based on ADA the only service dogs are those that assist people with sight, hearing and physically disabilities. They do not recognize any non-physical (invisible) disabilities service dog such as dogs trained to alert for PTSD, anxiety or panic attaches. They also require a service dog to wear a vest. Iowa Service Dog and ADA identify dogs trained for calming someone with PTSD and anxiety. ADA doesn't require that dogs wear vests. (Ref: Service Dog Laws Iowa, January 2023 https://theservicedogs.com/service-dog-laws-iowa/#summary-of-servide-dog-laws-iowa and ADA Requirements: Service Animals, https://www.ada.gov/resources/service-animals-2010-requirements). I'm working with my new service dog for alerting for anxiety. My previous service dog died in Feb 2021. I didn't have a vest for her nor had any issues at any hotels with her being a service dog. She had been trained to alert for PTSD, anxiety and panic attaches which all other hotels recognized as disabilities for someone and identified dogs as service dogs.

This is the second time I've stayed at a Fairfield and will be the last. The front desk employee I check in seemed annoyed with just about everything. Anytime you needed to ask a question she was on her phone. I felt bad for the employees because there were limited staff but the the attitude of customer service was poor.

I loved the location from the airport. Very easy to navigate. Very very nice. Front desk lady that is going to college should run your Hotel if she doesn't already. The best front person I have met for a long time. We were there for my Granddaughter's college interview. She made me feel so comfortable talking with her about the interview. She was so hospitable to all that checked in. The property is beautifully maintained. If things go well and she gets the scholarship, I will be back! (Probably every month!) Thank you for hiring the best!

Clean hotel, friendly staff, outdoor traffic was a little loud by just the way it is. Good selection for breakfast but struggled a little keep items stocked. It did seem busy with some kids sports teams, so maybe it wasn't the norm to be that busy which made it harder. But I overall we had a great stay and would stay again.

It was convenient for the airport for early morning departure, and the pool area was great for kids to enjoy. Staff was friendly and helpful when needing more towels for pool. Would consider staying again for our early morning flights…

Everything was great with check in. Room was clean. Coffee at breakfast was horrible though. Not that i expect coffee shop quality coffee but it was bland, seemed watered down. Breakfast was good other than coffee.

Well kept hotel with an indoor pool and hot tub. Terrace where you can eat breakfast outside and get your morning sun. The staff was helpful when I left something of value behind. They retrieved it from the room immediately. Great breakfast with gluten free muffins and great coffee. Rooms need better lighting in the bathroom. Difficult to put makeup on in the light provided. Every hotel fails on this point. They don't consider women in the design. If housekeeping isn't going to come in every day they need to leave enough makeup remover wipes to cover the whole stay. I don't like the no housekeeping approach.
