Water kept being interrupted, intermittent electricity black outs, warm water comes and goes, no pressure, loud ac, too many mosquitoes, cockroaches, got double charged on checkout, staff was nice, but theres no quality assurance to back it up. Guest service took 5 hrs to send tech for AC and had to move rooms at 10pm coz couldnt stand heat and noise. Jacuzzi dirty and hot water didnt worked as expected. I expected a lot more. Food was nice, location on, pool is fine. I loved that theres no music or entertainment, i could relax when out. We can do better if we take care of basics ops

The beach area was nice and clean. The ocean view from the resort is breathtaking. The pool looked dirty and the tile around the pool had black mold all around. The room that I stayed was outdated, the furniture looked bad and the bed was uncomfortable and smelled like mildew. On the last day of our stay the resort ran out running water while I was in the middle of a shower I was offered gallon of water to finished my shower and rinse my hair out. Also no running water to flush the toilets. When I called the receptionist, I was informed that the issues with the water was going to be resolve in 1hr, I left the resort 2hrs latter and still no running water. There was only one restaurant open during my stay there. The food prices were outrageous and not many choices to chose from. This property is not a 5 star hotel like it is advertised, more like 3 stars.

Propertie needs a bit restoration in some areas, also road to propertie in the night its a bit scary

The hotel has a lot of potential but it needs a better management tram that will fix all the missing details. The power and water went out several times EVERY DAY. The Jacuzzi was filthy and when they came to turn it on it poured more dirt and rust parti les into the water. Also they have a faulty electric heater attached which gave me a strong SHOCK when I touched the water. I immediately turned it off and did not enter the jacuzzi again. The woodwork needs attention throughout the hotel. The pools need to be resurfaced and thoroughly cleaned. The food was ok. Service was ok.

Sublime is truly a paradise! The service, the rooms, the food, the beach and pools are impeccable. It was such a relaxing and unforgettable experience and our family enjoyed every day we spent there.

We rented a Casita with Jacuzzi in rooftop. I had been here about 9 years ago, and you can tell the maintenance has been 0 since then. Broken fridge, stove, oven, dish washer, hot tub, broken glass in balcony (serious danger for toddler), kitchen leaking gas... its a long list, just beware to keep your expectations close to reality. Also, the food needs an urgent revision- we continuously ranked food a 2/5. I am sure they can fix this, however, it was not a good experience, and speaking to other guests they all agreed. Regarding the hotel and beach: They remain to be the most AMAZING place, relaxing, and beautiful location, almost unbeatable. Gardens are beautiful. Best pool to relax.The staff in general was awesome, the great service of Jose made a difference in our stay. They do need to fix the casitas if they want to keep the "small luxury hotels" seal and Conde Nast Recomendation.

Every area or department was understaffed, condo not prepared upon arrival even though we arrived one gour late, restaurant slow at every meal and food undercooked, especially breakfast. This morning, it took one hour for them to serve us breakfast, they messed my bill during checkout and we are only talking about the charge for incidentals seriously, no cleaning service at night so we had dirty dishes sit in the sink overnight and garbage full as well. It took 30 minutes to get dish soap. They brought a roll of paper towel like you get from a commercial bathroom. The shower heads need serious cleaning or replacement. My daughters’ room did not have hot water until the second day in the late afternoon. The pools near the restaurant were not cleaned well. You can readily see the staff do not smile even though they are friendly, They are obviously understaffed and look disstressed in every area of the hotel.

Unpaved road to property. Buildings maintenance can be improved

This place is paradise. The hotel is perfect, recently renovated. The staff is beyond amazing with a perfect smile on their faces all the time. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Their Dominican breakfast is really delicious. The beach, I have no words. Service at the restaurant by Arelys and Horton was top. The receptionists are also super helpful. Security to enter the property makes you feel really safe. I’m definetely coming back.

Sublime looking and breath taking is the location. I have been here numerous times and my family and I are always impress with everything. The beach is breath taking, crystal clear water and white sand. Numerous water activities available. I highly recommend this place.

When I called the receptionist, I was informed that the issues with the water was going to be resolve in 1hr, I left the resort 2hrs latter and still no running water. The property is postcard beautiful but we didn’t like our room. The sofa was damp, as if it had been shampooed and not dried (they put a nice blanket on it which made it fine) but the room also smelled like smoke which was quite unpleasant. The a/c was very loud and created an intense vibration in the kitchen, one bathroom and part of the bedroom. Two of the sitting chairs were the most uncomfortable chairs we’ve ever sat on but the bed, sofa and dining chairs were very comfortable. Sleep wasn’t good because of the a/c noise (louder than any of the other 4 hotels we stayed at on our visit to the Dominican Republic and louder than any hotel I’ve ever stayed at anywhere). So while the hotel is stunningly beautiful outside, it was our least favorite on our trip and we won’t return.

Wir hatten einen fantastischen Aufenthalt in diesem Hotel! Das Personal war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und hat alles dafür getan, dass wir uns rundum wohl fühlten. Jeden Tag haben wir neue Strandtücher für die Sonnenliegen erhalten und unser Liegeplatz wurde immer perfekt vom Personal zurecht gerichtet. Das Zimmer war geräumig, sauber und hatte alles, was wir für einen komfortablen Aufenthalt brauchten. Das Frühstück war gut. Die Speisen am Abend könnte man optimieren. Die ganze Woche gab es die gleiche Menü in beiden Restaurants. Die Lage des Hotels direkt am Strand war perfekt und wir konnten die Sonne und das Meer in vollen Zügen geniessen. Ich würde dieses Hotel jedem empfehlen, der nach einem entspannten und komfortablen Strandurlaub sucht. Samana ist immer noch sehr authentisch und zum Glück noch nicht vom Massentourismus entdeckt.

Das Frühstück war zwar ausreichend, jedoch etwas einseitig. Die Abendessen im Hotel empfand ich als recht teuer. Ein echter Geheimtipp ist jedoch ein einheimisches Restaurant, das man nach einem etwa 10-minütigen Spaziergang am Strand auf der linken Seite erreicht. Dort kann man sich auf frische, leckere Gerichte zu sehr günstigen Preisen freuen. Eine weitere 10-minütige Wanderung bringt einen zu einer tollen Pizzeria, die ebenfalls sehr empfehlenswert ist. Insgesamt ein grossartiger Aufenthalt mit kleinen Verbesserungspotenzialen, den ich auf jeden Fall wiederholen würde!

Todo perfecto, salvo algunos insectos que se hicieron presentes en la cocina y el baño. Nada de qué preocuparse, pero sí de ponerle atención. Lugar excelente para descansar en tranquilidad. La playa es un pedazo del paraíso. Simplemente espectacular…

Love this place for a relaxing vacation, apartment was well equipped and very clean

we have stayed twice before , this time , we rented a villa everything about the place is great . only problem this time was that we only got hot showers twice in 4 days , for the price , it is not acceptable!! also the level of the restaurant , is not up to par , compared to a few locations we have been to , they should really look into upgraded the cooking!! but aside from that we love the place ! we are lucky enough to be chefs , and know where to go buy fresh seafood locally , and we make ourself at home , with our cooking and wine drinking!!

Sublime Samana truly lives up to its name when it comes to the stunning grounds and serene beachfront location. The natural beauty of the area is breathtaking, with lush landscaping and easy access to the pristine beach, making it a wonderful retreat for those looking to relax in a tranquil setting. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, but at times, it felt like they needed more training—simple requests often led to confusion. While their warmth and kindness made up for some of the hiccups, better training would enhance the overall guest experience. However, my biggest disappointment was the mattress. For a hotel of this caliber, I expected a five-star sleep experience, but unfortunately, the bed was incredibly uncomfortable. A good night’s sleep is one of the most important aspects of a luxury hotel stay, and this fell short. Another issue was the bathroom lighting, which was way too dim. Getting ready in such poor lighting was frustrating, and it’s something that should be an easy fix in a high-end hotel. The dinner restaurant was also a letdown. We tried it the first night and never went back. The menu was very limited and significantly overpriced, especially considering the quality and portion sizes. Living in the DC metro area, I’m used to high prices, but these felt unjustified. It was disappointing to see so few authentic or locally inspired dishes in an area that should highlight Dominican cuisine. More fresh seafood and traditional Dominican flavors—

The villa was not in proper conditions. A/C noisy and did not cool at all. Jacuzzi did not work at alla. Called 5 times and didn’t fix it. Bar beverages (beer) hot. Expected much more of this place and my stay. I picked the best villa and didn’t get what they offered

Sublime Samana exceeded all expectations. It’s a beautiful luxurious property that is also warm and welcoming. We had a wonderful stay with our grown children in a 3 bedroom villa- just perfect.

This visit went beyond our expectations. Have you ever experienced a place or restaurant that you almost hate to share because you feel like it’s your personal hidden gem? Sublime Samana in Las Terranas is now our private getaway spot. It’s essential for you to reconnect with yourself and your partner. But if you simply MUST bring the kids, this is as SAFE and amenable a resort as you can find in the DR. My fiance and I were literally stunned from the moment we stepped out of our car. The staff is a collection of humble, helpful, and peaceful characters. With a special thanks to Karina, Yefry, Jose, Jose, Jose, Juan, and Rony! (If I’ve forgotten anyone, please forgive me, friends!) Although we are planning other trips to the Caribbean and Europe in our future, if we ever need to disappear to a place we love and trust. We will be coming home to Sublime Samana and hang out with our people. A , 5-stars…a magical experience!

You feel the peace and relaxation the moment you step foot on the property. The service was excellent! You are gifted a smile from each person you come across. I can’t thank them enough for their hospitality. The villa was Clean and organized and spacious. You are surprised each day with a tasty treat when you arrive at your villa. Can’t wait to visit again.

Amazing place to stay. I’ll go back again. Clelisia, at the front desk provided an amazing service at all times, she was very accommodating, one of our tours with the hotels got canceled and she helped us arrange different ones. Enrique at the beach restaurant provided an amazing service. Lovely place to stay!

Location close to secluded beach is difficult to beat. Hotel and surroundings are beautiful. On the other hand service is ver lacking and food mediocre. Overall it was good.

Wir haben eine Villa mit zwei Zimmern gebucht. Das Beste am Hotel ist die Unterkunft, die traumhafte Lage, der wunderschöne Strand und natürlich das Meer. In den zwei Restaurants (Eins davon war geschlossen) kann man kaum essen, da sich die Karte nicht ändert und die Preise völlig überteuert sind. Deshalb muss man ein Auto haben und sich in der Umgebung (Las Terrenas) selbst versorgen – was wir auch taten. Das fanden wir sogar gut, weil wir dadurch unsere eigenen Ausflüge unternahmen und so das Land und die Leute besser kennenlernen konnten. Wer jedoch ein typisches Hotel erwartet, wird enttäuscht sein.

Nice infrastructure, exciting beach, friendly staff - only prices are extremely high (double espresso dop 600 = usd 8.5 and water by aqua panda dop 750) prices higher than in Switzerland.
