Great location. Parking at the hotel is not so great though. You can easily back your car into another vehicle behind you. It’s best to have someone stand behind your car and give you distance even if you have a backup camera. Staff was great and the room I was in was spacious and clean.

We always stay at Indigo Inn when we visit Charleston. Above all, we like the location and the easy surface parking. The breakfast and happy hour are excellent, the staff is very helpful, and the courtyard and rooms are a joy.

We really love the convenience of the property and the history of the building. The staff was wonderful, and the rooms were clean with the exception of the shower, which has a bit of mold which we brought to their attention.

The location is very convenient, and they provide breakfast and snacks/wine throughout the day, which is very nice, despite breakfast being minimal. The room was not clean and the AC struggled to keep the room temp comfortable. Mattress was cheap and uncomfortable. When we came back to hotel after a hot and sweaty day, we found no toiletries in the shower, and when we asked for them we were told they ran out of shampoo and shower gel! I couldn’t believe it!!!

Overall, we had a nice stay at the Indigo Inn minus someone talking loudly outside our door at 1 am waking us up the first night. Unfortunately our room was located below a staircase, right next to the check in area and a service area. The staff was friendly and the hotel was mostly very clean, although the back of the headboards between mattress and wall are in need of a dusting. While the hotel rooms are a little dated, the beds were comfortable, bedding was clean and there were some recent upgrades like the flooring and the shower in the bathroom. Check in and check out were a breeze, we enjoyed the evening charcuterie boards and cookies. Breakfast has items like Quaker oatmeal cups, cereals, muffins, Danish, bagels, yogurt, premade Belgian waffles in a bag (toaster ready) and hard boiled eggs which was ok for us. Heads up, be prepared to pay $25 a day to park in their parking lot. I was not aware of the fee prior to arriving and had not read it in any prior reviews, but was somewhat expecting it since it’s pretty normal for downtown Charleston. Parking lot is a little tight if in a larger vehicle like a Suburban but manageable for us in a Camry. Hotel is in a very good location with a lot of great restaurants and shopping within a short walk. It also had a very nice courtyard. We would definitely stay again, but will make sure we are not put in a room near the stairs or front office again.

Very nice staff. Place needs improvement. Shower grout was dirty and had fingís in corner at bottom. Mattress old and uncomfortable. Furniture looks very in cared for . Needs more care. The actual location and building were nice. Nice interior patios.

This inn is in a fantastic location, the bed was very comfortable, and the breakfast selections were great. The room was dusty, the fan didn't work, and there were ants and a palmetto bug in our room.

I don’t know how on earth this property has the high ratings it does. The location is good, but the property itself is shabby and not worth half of what a typical night here costs. The only two upsides that I can think of are the location and the evening reception that they hold. There were some nice minis of wine and snacks But the room was terrible. This property was built in 1974 and I don’t think it’s been updated since. The room claimed to sleep 3, but unless you get a two bed room DO NOT book this for more than 2 people. There are very few outlets in the room because in 1974 you didn’t need them. As a result the lamps and alarm clock and the charging dock they set up are stretched to their limits. The alarm clock fell off the table twice in the night. Our bathroom had black mold in it, which I photographed and showed the manager (who admittedly was very accommodating). Our carpet was stained. Underneath the couch cushions was FILTHY. Obviously some guest liked this property. I thought it was a roughly 1.5 star motel in a decent location. I think I’m going to stick with the national brands from here on out. I’ve issued my warning, good luck if you ignore it.

On day we left, there was a huge palmetto bug on the wall. It was gross, and can be a symbol of subpar cleanliness. The staff were all great, but the property is very old and worn looking. That said it has charm and good location. I guess I just feel that for a hefty price, it should have been cleaner and without the constant sound of a pipe not affixed to the bathroom wall.

The bathroom could have been a little cleaner as there was a clump of hair on the shower drain that I removed before my wife saw it. The location and walk ability can’t be beat which is what drew us to this location.

This is an older building that looks almost like a green prison from the outside but has a lovely hidden courtyard inside. It's great in good weather, but when it rains, you're pretty much stuck in your room or the tiny lobby. Location is excellent. Property needs some capital improvements. Our room was right by the elevator and was very noisy in the morning that breakfast was shuttled down from the kitchen on the second floor to the little lobby on the first floor. Rooms are small, bathroom/shower designed for thin people.

The Indigo Inn is a lovely property with a fantastic staff. We loved the little perks throughout the day like the continental breakfast, wine and cheese happy hour, and the milk and cookies in the evening. Parking was convenient although rather expensive, and the courtyard was so pretty. The room was small and it was tight accommodations with the three of us, but we made it work. We came during a very hot time so the a/c units in the windows were cranked up which pushed out extra hot air to an already extra hot day and night so getting off the elevator to the third floor was like walking into an oven. The elevator did not seem to have any kind of air flow either so it held onto that hot air. The room never got very cold, unfortunately. Phew! We still enjoyed ourselves very much. The beds were comfortable and the shower was hot with decent water pressure. There is no escaping the heat and humidity during the summer in Charleston and being from NC I am accustomed to it. Despite the sweaty conditions we would still stay here. It's in the perfect spot and the people are so nice and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Small room, but ok. Cute Courtyard to enjoy breakfast and happy hour. The negatives are biggies…the smell in the room was hard to overcome. The a/c unit was REALLY loud. Second night just turned it off so we could sleep.

Location, staff, parking, amenities excellent. However the hotel has retro fitted aircon which is really noisy and keeps you awake. All the rooms centre around a courtyard and they all have their aircon blowing into the space which means it’s like trying to sleep on a 757. Honestly a great hotel u til you want to sleep.

Very nice hotel, friendly staff, room was a little crowded, and while the AC was set to 62 and the ceiling fan was on it was still stifling in the room. Heard every little noise outside our room. The bed was very tall (to our surprise there were steps in the closet to help you get in bed) but had a good night’s sleep. Upon check in we were told cookies and milk from 8-10, got back from dinner at 9 and they were all gone. So, that was a little disappointing. Hotel had a very European feel, would’ve liked a European continental breakfast, but it was OK. Guests were just very rude.

Everything was very nice, and the hotel is in an excellent location. However, the wireless internet was so slow as to be unusable. Parking is not free; it costs $25 per day.

It should be clearer that rooms at this hotel that are not marked either “Atrium” or “Exterior” view will only have a window that opens onto a corridor.

Great staff but this is not what I was expecting for a Charleston property! Definitely run down in all the common areas and I don't mean historic ! Room size was nice but bathroom with shower tiny tiny !

The Indigo Inn is centrally located and walkable to all the sites in Charleston. Check in was easy and parking was also easy and available. We appreciated the evening happy hour. It was a great time to meet fellow guests and learn more about things to see and do in Charleston. Our room as not that great and overall, the room needed to but brought up to date to meet the needs of today's traveler. The bathroom was ridiculously small, and we are fortunate that we are not big people.

We absolutely LOVE the Indigo. It is a lovely quaint property. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is pleasant and accommodating. The wine and cheese time is AMAZING and we looked forward to it every evening. The hotel is in close proximity to all historic attractions. You won't be disappointed!

Hotel location is convenient, within walking distance to a number of restaurants, carriage tours etc. Our room was small and pretty average in terms of how clean it was (especially bathroom floor). The worst part of it, it was located right in front of an ice maker that made thunderous noise all night long. Not sure who thought that was a good place for it. The guy that worked the check-in when we came was downright rude, unprofessional and unapologetic when called out on it. Stay elsewhere.

The staff is exceptional. From start to finish they were fantastic. We tried to talk with all and each one was pleasant and very welcoming to their city. This is our 2nd visit to the Indigo and it will not be our last. You really cannot beat the location of this hotel. It is literally walkable to EVERYTHING. We averaged 6 miles a day discovering what the city had to offer and the Inn was in a perfect spot to do this. The rooms are exceptionally clean and comfortable. I can’t wait to return.

Easiest parking I’ve ever found in Charleston. Our first room wouldn’t cool down, so they moved us to a new room without a problem. Great complimentary snacks, drinks, and breakfast. Excellent value for downtown Charleston!

This is a delightful property. We greeted by a friendly and informative staff person. The inn offers wine, cheese and charcuterie in the early evening, cookies and coffee in the late evening and a continental breakfast in the morning. The rooms and property were immaculate and within blocks of the city market and restaurants. You have to pay to park on the property but it's worth it. We will come again.

What an incredible stay! Every opportunity to make us feel special and well cared for they made happen. They don’t just include breakfast, but also wine and cheese in the evening, and milk and cookies before bed! They have fresh cucumber and fruit infused water and sweet Tea during the day. They also have umbrellas ready. The cleaning service was excellent, room so well cared for! Parking is easy and you can come and go as you please, it’s also half the cost of everywhere else. Every person is friendly and kind. I can’t remember such a delightful experience in the center of a city, outstanding!

The location is in the heart of downtown and easy walking distance to King street and the Battery, but still quiet and secluded. The lobby was being renovated so they set up a room for breakfast and wine and cheese. The staff was friendly and helpful. On site parking was a plus.

Charming with great location. Walking steps in every direction to many of Charleston highlights. Enjoyed the courtyard even during winter weather. Doesn't have a restaurant...Doesn't need one with all the eateries right outside the door. However was impressed with breakfast and snacks available throughout the day, especially wine and cheese prior to dinner hour. Second time staying here, will return again.

It was amazing, I saw reviews about the rooms being small but I did not think so at all. The wine and cheese happy hour and then breakfast in the atrium were the highlights for me. This place has my business for any future trips to Charleston.

Perfect spot! Great rooms, service, and people. It’s also walking distance to Meeting Street, King Street, and the city market. Definitely making this my spot moving forward. 10/10 recommend.

Had a lovely 5 night stay at Indigo Inn! Perfectly located to everything and anything you might want to do in the downtown area. We walked to our schooner cruise, horse carriage ride, haunted cemetery tour, across the peninsula through amazing neighborhoods, and to fabulous restaurants. Parking is so easy and I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived by the happy hour that they have every day in addition to a lovely breakfast and milk & cookies every night. Worth the extra money for the location and all of the additional things provided. Also, the best Arnold Palmer I’ve ever had is served daily! The air conditioning in the rooms works great and was always a perfect escape from the heat and humidity. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

The rooms are pristine and the courtyard is lovely, perfect for enjoying the continental breakfast and happy hour appetizers/drinks. The staff is courteous and the maids leave your room sparkling. This jewel is steps from the action (the market) and other attractions. Highly recommend.

Well worth the money, the hotel has a lot of extras for a southern hospitality such as local wines and beers available daily at 5, cookies at night and a great breakfast. Highly recommend and will definitely be saying here again!

This was a second stay at an Inn in Charleston and we found the Indigo Inn to be much quieter than the other Inn. They offer 3 different snack offerings with the Milk and Cookies being my favority.

The hotel was a cute hotel with the historic vibe. The room was very cute. Every night they had snacks and drinks at the lobby. At 8 they had a night cap with cookies and milk. They are doing some renovations, but didn't take away from the stay. Walking distance to everything. They also have a parking lot so you didnt have to find a spot on the street. We would definitely stay again!
