Are room in the second floor and we have luggage and bags to bring in are room and we have to carried them one by one because they don’t have elevator to used. Room smells bad that we have to opened window to let fresh air come in. Bathroom was dirty and shower knobs fall out on my 7yrs child and we have to leave the shower on for the next person to shower because the shower was broken. We try to call the front desk but no one answered. People park on the motel parking so when we get back on the motel at night we have to park across the street which is on the public parking.

My husbands key card opened another rooms door by accident on his part. The security lock was broken the tv didnt work. The curtains were old and half broke. No AC. The room was hot. No screens on any window to open and let fresh air in. The heat was on constantly. Could t adjust the thermastat.

It was clean No microwave no table or chairs. Had one office chair and would not stay up. Ice maker machine outside was not working. Candy and soda machine vending machines also broken. It was a good thing a gas station around the back was open. This place needs a very serious upgrade ‼️

Needs udated but nice and close to the beach, that is what made everything ok. The parking sucks, they allow a food truck to park in the parking area making finding a spot very annoying. Then you come out and people are leaning on your car even more annoying. The guy was nice rooms are very basic but over all for 1 night it was ok. If i was staying longer i would look into something else.

Bedroom was reasonable, however bathroom area was in need of a remodel. Sink worn and rusty, toilet seat wrong size and broken, shower had areas of moldy grout and water damage on the outer wall of tub. We stayed there overnight the first week, returned the next week and we were assigned the same room. Bathroom floor had not been sweep or mopped, as there was still a hair scrunchy on the floor from the previous week. Very noisy!!! People upstairs had a large dog that barked through the night. These people must be day sleepers as they made noise all night long stomping across the floor in heavy boot, knocking the chair over numerous times, moving furniture around. I really thought they were doing construction all night long. I realize this problem is hard to control as you never know what kind of people you are going to get!!! Sleepless experience!!!

There were bed bugs on the king mattress and roaches in the bathroom and the shower head was not functioning correctly the fridge barely worked so once we discovered the infestation we ended up leaving at 830am

This hotel is not fit for any traveler. There appears to be absolutely no management or care for cleanliness, safety or upkeep. The smoke detector had a plastic bag tied over it. The room was filled with gnats and flies. The windows were so filthy could not see out of them. The closet had no hangers. The water pressure in the shower was very low and the water luke warm at best. There were holes in wall. The hotel ice machine was broken and when asked about it there was no plan to ever fix it. There is no coffee machine or microwave. The small refrigerator has no frozen compartment. The manager office was closed on one morning with no way to contact anyone. We were told the hotel is set to be torn down for affordable housing which would explain the lack of any concern for guests.

Hotel was dirty , bathroom had black mold. Bed was broken on both sides, people were trying to open door all night , had the worst sleep and waking up to the scratches in the ceiling. (Rats)

Definitely a hidden mold issue in this room. You could smell at the moment you entered. Walking in the bathroom and turning on the light. I was greeted by a cockroach. There was flaking paints off the door frame. Overall, it's quite clear. There's a lot of deferred maintenance on this building and the roach was just a little too friendly for my life

This was the worst Motel 6 I have ever stayed at. It was dirty, poor repair, no screens on any of the windows, dirty sheets, dirty bathroom, and in poor condition. Floors were dirty and in poor condition. Very noisy. People screaming. We were woken up in the middle of the night from the person above us, throwing things around and falling on the floor repeatedly. Overal bad experience

no AC, Cheap n clean but really...., a bent up chair lamp, 1 of 2 bulbs working when the plug doesn't fall out of the wall socket? frig not cooling, window lock not a lock. Headboard fell off the wall unpluging the bed lamp. Just don't expect much more than a clean bed, bath n toilet. Bring everything you imagine needing, expect nothing. Close to a nice beach n high marks to the Coffee / Sandwich shop a couple blocks away. Outside the peak temps of summer ok while traveling. Can't say I would feel safe out at night but then that agrees with most of my impression of SF. Much more comfortable once I drove north of SF.

We knew not to expect much. Overall, the room was quiet. We were lucky not to incur any damage to our vehicle as this is quite common. The rooms were spacious, but the entire hotel is pretty run down. The only reason we booked here was the price.

Check in was great. Quick. To the point. Great directions to our room. Room was run down. Ripped curtain so we couldn’t block out the outside light. Beds were adequate but not great. Super bouncy and not great. Bathroom was clean and functional. Shower was warm but not hot. Not cold. Just not super warm. Warm enough. I was showering at 6 am so not a lot of competition for the heat. Free parking. Clearly people are living across the street on the main road there. Felt safe but some people may not enjoy this level of diversity.

Bring ear plugs - noisy from the disrespectful people but also if the road gets closed - traffic re-routes on the street along the motel - so it is not "quiet" by any means. The location is really great though: steps away from the beach and the Botanical Garden, short drive to de Young and the Legion of Honor museums, Golden Gate Bridge, etc. There are a couple of nice cafes really close that can be walked to for meals as well. There was no coffeemaker in my room - despite it being listed as an "amenity". i don\'t know if i\'d stay again - but i enjoyed the 3 day stay - any longer than that, and the bed would have killed my back))

Great location. The dunes are right out your window and short walk to beach. Great price. Don’t expect anything fancy. It’s a very simple room. Much older. Room was very clean though! Highway is kind of dirty looking. I did see homeless quite a bit as well. It’s a noisy area and people coming and going can be loud and our room was right by the stairwell, lots of loud echoing voices. The roof felt stuffy each time we returned it. It met our needs, just a place to sleep and shower. Gone all day every day! Great fir kids and family’s and pets too

The room was excellent for the price , it had two queen beds , then the sink, toilet with shower had where in one placed with door , so anyone could use sink without having to wait if restroom was busy. Next to the restroom, there was a master room with a king bed and it had a door for privacy, really spacious. It had two fridges . Across the streets was the beach, lovely view , you can go for morning walks. Really convenient area as it is close too most stuff, there’s a park, closed to botanical garden, and all those cool places. I was just nervous because there were a lot of people at night wondering around. I was scared , thought it would be was unsafe, but being there the two nights , it I was actually good. Will stay again.

This was a great location, being an easy walk to Golden Gate Park and also across the street from the beach. There is an amazing little beach cafe that’s just a 4 minute walk south, that we ate at every day. That is all worth staying there since there is no other hotel there. We were charged exorbitant rates because of it being a concert weekend in the park and the proximity. The front desk staff was friendly. Our room was a basic motel 6 room, no coffee maker or microwave. Broken blinds, we asked for clean towels on the 3rd day and were told that they would bring them up- housekeeping never came to our room during the 4 night stay. No towels, no clean anything. There was a good deal of mold in the bathroom and also on a door beside the bed. Luckily there was no sign of bugs that we could tell. With housekeeping and mold removal- could have been a good place.

We were coming from a different hotel which we had to check out of at 11am with our luggage, so we had asked to check in earlier. They originally said yes but the guy who was working when I came said 2 at the earliest. We decided to just wait outside since we had a lot of luggage and I’m assuming the manager saw us and within four minutes he was able to get us a room. I was very happy about that accommodation!! The room was very nice and the bed was comfy! I would stay again!

The room heater was broken making it constantly 100 degrees in the room, windows had no screens so could not sleep safely with them open, requested a new room or to fix the heater and the person at the desk kept making excuses as to why they couldn't do anything about it but it was clearly due to laziness and lack of care. Asked for a discount and was told a manager had to do that but none were on site for the entirety of my stay - clearly just another excuse.

Microwave won’t heat. Blinds have major holes in it. Shower handle broke. Tv remote broke and the clarity of tv reminds me of days of moving rabbit ears to get better reception. Called front desk multiple times and no answer. Looks like all kinds of people sleeping in cars in parking lot. AVOID THIS PLACE IF IT IS THE CHEAPEST ITS NOT WORTH IT. Tried to complain to staff or owner and he literally threaten to beat my a$$ and told me to get off the property. The pictures are lies.

The pros: There was plenty of parking across the street from the hotel. This was my first time staying at this location, but have walked past it many times over the years while visiting Ocean Beach and walking along the (now) closed Great Highway between the hotel and the beach that is dedicated to walking and bike riding (no cars). Beach access is also convenient. Check-in was extremely easy and the staff polite. I stayed for one night. The hotel is 4-5 miles from the city center; however, I purposely chose to say near the beach knowing this. There are public transportation options within 1-2 blocks to get you to the rest of the city if you do not have a car. These was an A/C in the room (rare in SF) but not often needed near the ocean. The cons: The room itself needs upgrading and repairs. As with any budget hotel, some sacrifices to comfort are made for the low price. And while the sheets and most towels/surfaces were clean, there were some issues that I tolerated but were not very assuring such as finding different colored long hairs on one of the clean towels, a broken light bulb in the room, blood stains on the half used toilet paper roll, a broken/missing toilet paper holder, and gnats/flies in the bathroom due to poor ventilation. The room was usable despite these items I've listed, and as a solo traveler, I made due without stirring any trouble due to the low price I paid. However, small fixes could have made the experience a little nicer.

The property is near the beach but thats literally the only perk. There isnt a range of walkable dining/cafe options around the area, which is a bummer. The rooms themselves are plain and dated, the wall outlets were loose and nothing stayed plugged in, there appeared to be mold in the shower and over all there were "short cuts" in the room and bathroom, the heater/ac is in a corner and carved into a wall that is unconventional, the shower had a short curtain and there was very apperant water damage along the base of the shower. Minor things like no toilet paper holder are just a mild inconvenience. The front desk was helpful, they got me a new fridge in a timely manner. The housekeeping staff is another story, they were rude and unpleasant each day I ran into them. Overall its good if youre pasing through the area with low low low expectations

I stayed here at least a dozen times while it was Rodeway Inn over the last six years for anywhere between 1-3 nights each time. We've never had any problems. Stayed last night for the first time since it became Motel 6 and was pleased with it. They painted the outside and it looks nicer and replaced the old dingy carpet with laminate flooring which makes it a lot better. Looking forward to staying several more times before they turn it into low income senior housing in a few years. Yes, there are people living in trailers and RV in the street but they aren't messing with anyone or their cars. They don't want those people there either.

The location is conveniently across from the beach, but definitely not the best area to walk. On the weekends, the road in front of the beach closes, which makes driving very inconvenient. It is conveniently close to a streetcar line, but the walk is not necessarily through the best area. I was here a few years ago, and they have made improvements, but more work is definitely necessary.

We were close to the ocean ,you could walk there. There didn't seem to be too many people there. They don't have coffee or ice or microwave, but it was very reasonably priced. It was comfortable and clean and we enjoyed our stay.

Staff was awesome. Check-in was a breeze. Plenty of parking. Nice neighborhood. Surrounded with great food options, like Clancey’s. The BEACH is across the street. We will definitely book again. The TV counter has scratches and the drawers are off the track, so if you’re picky… stay somewhere else. We loved it.

Had a clean room with 2 queen and 1 king bed, yet there was only 1 chair. Towels were very small but they readily provided more as needed. TV wasn’t working but staff came within 5 mins to fix it. Nice having a taco truck in hotel parking lot. Fabulously close to beach and Goldengate Park. Quick walk to grocery store as well. Tile stairs on outside of building get ocean mist and can be slightly slippery. Loved having parking.

Best part is the taco truck by the hotel Leo’s tacos the best. Excellent location clean room, you get what you pay for I guess old forniture, broken light it really needs some update
