Overall excellent location and a great hotel, the only criticism of our room was lack of hanging rails/hooks in the bathroom. There was no provision for placing clothes, robes or towels. Otherwise all good, really appreciated the welcome drinks and complimentary drinks, snacks and chocolate provided in the fridge.

They upgraded our room and the room was nice and spacious. The location of the hotel was convenient, walkable to MRT and also to the city center. The only disappointment for us was the quality of the Restaurant in the Hotel. We recommend this Hotel but not the Restaurant.

Rigtig fin placering, relativ tæt på MRT på strækningen mellem lufthavnen og city center. Morgenmads buffe var dog ikke inkluderet, men vi fik refunderet beløbet for morgenmad og der var rigeligt med muligheder for morgenmadscafe'er lige om hjørnet of overfor.

This is a very beautiful and special hotel. The room was lovely, the staff were wonderful and very helpful, and the area is frankly awesome! A very special part if singapore: old, not too touristy, and beautiful historic architecture. Downside was a TINY bathroom, hearing the guest above us, and the hotel does not serve alcohol. Not an issue but website should state this. Overall we loved the Sultan and highly recommend it!

The room could've been better designed. Bathroom - at least ours - was tiny, plus the door had a self-closing hinge which was a bother. Both bar and restaurant were deserted; and the restaurant did not look anything like in the web fotos...more like a cafeteria. Needs an update or something. Location, near Arab Str was excellent bc there was a lot to talk to in terms of shopping and eating.

While we were looking forward to our stay, there were a few missing elements that left us wanting. For example, though the room was non-smoking, a strong smell of smoke permeated the room and furniture which was off-putting. The bathroom could also have been cleaner and larger. It is a beautiful, heritage property with a lot of potential, but a distinct lack of maintenance is holding it back.

Good location close to Arab Street and not too far from the MRT. Despite being in a busy street the room was quiet. It wasn't quite the boutique hotel we expected, 'The Attic Room' was a whole floor of rooms and we were lucky to change from our first room which was damp due to a housekeeping mishap. Had trouble with hot water throughout our stay but the room was otherwise comfortable. Very helpful staff.

I absolutely loved our stay at the hotel. The staff is amazing and generally very good service. I do have some critique I would like to give. There were a ton of cobwebs on the ceiling. Given the ceilings are very high, but I feel those removed would have really made my stay a lot better. The other critique is that, the mirror in the washroom is not well lit and there are no other mirrors in the room. This as a girl, is a challenge to get ready lol. However, to emphasize this is me nitpicking. My stay overall was very very very pleasant.

Rooms comfortable but bad knees or back make it a bit difficult: no chair or table; sit cross-legged at end of mattress to boil kettle. All very easy for the more agile. Would definitely stay there again. Lots of eating option within two blocks, including in-house French cuisine or, Little India close.

A good hotel that was close to the mrt, shops and restaurants, unfortunately for us our room backed on to a side street that was noisy with motor bikes coming and going at all hours, a shame as the staff and house keeping was excellent

Handy location for walking round Arabic and Little India districts. Felt safe. Hotel was goo. Room was very big only negative was the very tiny bathroom and very poor lighting in the room. Was hard to see for reading etc.

A very small room, but very modern and nice. Tea and coffee facilities in the room a good location for Arab Street and Haji Lane. Plenty of good breakfast venues, available. hop on and hop off bus right in front of the hotel. I would stay again, but I hated the tiny tiny room.

Nuestra estancia en The Sultan fue excelente, la atención y la limpieza un 10. Lo único que me gustaría comentar es que en la habitación en la que nosotras estábamos contaba con la cama en un doble piso y las escaleras son muy pequeñas entonces es peligroso si quieres bajar ya que el baño se encuentra en el primer nivel. Fuera de eso, el hotel se encuentra muy cerca del barrio árabe y de varias zonas de interés en las que puedes llegar caminando. Cuentan también con un restaurante, y aunque no comimos, se ve que es un buen lugar. Muy buena estancia.

We stayed in the Puteri room. It was exactly like we saw in the picture - once we opened the shutters and the large drapes. Our room was stylish and romantic. This is an older hotel in a historical area of town. There are many new highrise hotels in the area but we chose this for the charm of the historical building and we were not dissapointed. The bed was very comfortable. There was lots of room for luggage. The bathroom was small and the lighting in the bathroom was good overall however for putting on makeup it could have been better. There was no full length mirror which would have been practical but we were fine without it. The Big Bus hop-on hop off bus stop was just outside the front entrance which was practical. The subway station was about a 5 minute walk, not far from the hotel. There were tons of restaurants nearby in the Arab quarter. The hotel does have a bar and restaurant but it was opened only later in the day/evening. The staff were friendly and helpful. We arrived in the morning after an early morning flight. The hotel kindly stored our bags until we returned after the rooms were ready. I will stay there again next time I’m in Singapore.

Lovely little hotel ! The staff all seemed so happy, they were helpful in every situation. In the Muslim neighbourhood, a vibrant community full of interesting tours. You will have to find the Black Sheep 2 blocks down for a great drink.

I had a great experience staying at this hotel. The location was very convenient, with a bus station right in front and the MRT nearby. Great hotel in Kampong Glam area located near lots of restaurants and shops. It's close enough to the MRT for trips all over the city however it was a bit of a trudge with our luggage from the closest MRT station. Overall the property was tidy and the staff were friendly and helpful. It can be a bit noisy if your room faces the road so earplugs are helpful.
