Mountain Brook Lodge

Even though remodeling was/is ongoing, the rooms and facilities were great, as well as the hosts. Cant wait to see all the remodeling completed.

Owners and staff were super friendly and helpful. Motel is under renovations but they made sure we were aware ahead of time. Rooms that are currently available are cute and comfy and had everything we needed. We can't wait to see the motel when renovations are complete as it already has lots of charm with "Adirondack" type decor.

Comfortable beds and easy going atmosphere. Camp fire area for hanging out in the evening.

Owners are nice folks working to rebuild kind of a iconic motel. I like to support them when I can and unfortunately for my next trip, they were sold out (good for them). Nothing fancy, but comfortable and I always sleep well, there.

The property was under renovation. Our room was great. Someone did show up quickly when text to help with tv No one else was at motel which was different but we felt safe.

The location straight down the road from Whiteface Mountain is perfect! Looking forward to visiting again after the renovations/updates.

The only thing was spotty WiFi other than that excellent. Was in the process of being renovated. The owners were the best as my car broke down and they let me keep it there until my tow came. I would highly recommend this place great people and comfortable clean rooms

We enjoyed our stay, and have stayed here before. We support our fellow veteran always, he is restoring the buildings.

Room was as described. Appliances worked, beds passably comfortable (some might find them a little soft), and as clean as it could possibly be using normal cleaning supplies. I had a question about access when we arrived, and staff responded very quickly. On the downside, the unit we stayed in has not been renovated and badly needs to be, so if stained floors and mildewed grout is going to put you off, this might not be the property for you until renovations are complete.

The property was old and broken and not cleaned for several months. Either the C or the microwave would work. Can’t run both at the same time . It was dusty and moldy . Damp smell.

The room was clean and check in was good. We stayed 3 nights and no one can in our room to change sheets or fix beds or bring clean towels or take dirty towels or empty trash. It was cute and clean. Would recommend people to stay there. Just stay on top of the room services.

Very nice Adirondack getaway. Microwave and refrigerator in the room was very convenient. My only complaint was there was hair on the shower walls and in the drain from previous people. Very quiet and peaceful environment

Great stay! Very clean. No check in, everything is taken care of when you book. Just a key code to get in. Great spot for the money!

We had a quick stay here for one night. Check in and check out was super easy, very communicative when i had a question about my booking prior. Room was very clean and organized, we would definitely stay here again!

Clean room

The room was clean and cute, and the staff were very friendly.

The room had a funny chemical smell to it. My duffel bag now smells like it and I can’t get it to go away. I’m fine with a room not being updated but it could have been cleaner as there were cobwebs between the wall and toilet. The TV didn’t work however the fridge and microwave were excellent. The staff was friendly over the phone and the check in/ out process was super easy. The room served its purpose but given the condition of the room I would probably not stay there again. It’s the smell that did it for me.

Vile, disgusting, infested with mice and bed bugs. Management does not care. I stayed at the Mountain Brooke Lodge from February 2-4, 2024. It was clear this motel was cheap for a reason when I learned that you can’t use the microwave and heater at the same time without tripping the breaker, and that there was no warm water. I could have dealt with this, but when I found mouse droppings all over the place, I was disgusted. I didn’t spend much time here so I didn’t notice it until the evening of the second day, but it was EVERYWHERE. In the bathroom, on the sink, on the desk next to the coffee machine, all over the furniture. It was absolutely vile, I can’t believe I had to sleep here. I notified management when I left and thought that would be the end of it. When I got home, however, I opened my suitcase to find not only MORE mouse droppings but also bedbugs. I called management and they said they found no evidence of mouse droppings or bedbugs and thus could only offer me a partial refund. Not sure if they were lying or just didn’t actually clean, but these pictures clearly show otherwise. There were a lot more mouse droppings than just what’s in these pictures, but at this point I just wanted to get out of there. They also told me they had rented out my room to another person shortly after I left, not even taking time to have an exterminator check it out. This place is filthy and management does not care about your health/safety

Internet was poor connection

We were given a code to enter the room, but when we arrived, the code didn’t work for our room. Because there was no staff on the site, we tried a different door and it eventually worked on a room that only had two double beds and was quite small. It was very inconvenient because we were 3 and had booked a larger room with bunkbeds.

Bed was not comfortable, it rolled us to the center and was low to the floor Everything else was great

Only had a small space heater that won’t heat a small bathroom. Didn’t have any hot water first day, not until 9:00 next day. I was cold temp outside 23 inside 54. Room cost 144.00 but should be 75.00 less for sure. The beds had plywood on them to make the mattress feel more firm, didn’t work. Sorry never again. May not use Expedia any more either, there are sites that give better supported ratings.

Il n’y a pas de réception à cet hôtel, ça rend les choses un peu plus compliqué. Je n’ai pas eu d’eau chaude pour prendre ma douche. Et la deco de la chambre sort tout droit des années 70. Mais c’était tout de même confortable.

I had to book other hotel and leave this place. Wifi password they shared 2 hours after I came, but tv did not work and they kept lying that they are working on it, eventually they said there outage in the whole are while it was working everywhere else, but at this point I already booked Marriott and left. I am used to come here with previous owners and that was excellent place. With new owners I do not believe I would ever go there.

Quick check in. Hotel was quiet and clean. Realized there was a sofa bed, bonus!

Booked for 1 adult, showed up unexpectedly with 2 adults and was greeted with excellence as they switched my 1 bed per room to a 2 bed per room 0 extra cost. Great owners and a great place to stay!

It seems like no one works at this property. The office is never open, and if you look through the window, you can see it is abandoned; there is no staff on site at any time of day as far as I can tell. I have no issue with having a contact-free check in, but that was not communicated prior to my stay nor was there any signage at indicating this. There was a sign with a phone number for “assistance,” unfortunately, this location is in an area with limited cell service, so completing a call was challenging. The wi-fi was down and with nobody on site there was no way to see if it could be fixed. The condition of this property is terrible. There were old cigarette butts outside of my room, and clearly no one had swept the walkway for a very long time. I would not recommend staying here at all.

Alicia was wonderful, so welcoming and willing to accommodate us, even offering an extra room to house my teenagers. They were super flexible with check in and check out times, allowing my kids to ski longer at Whiteface and me to be in a cozy room reading while they did so. Liz, the housekeeper, was also very kind and made sure we had what we needed during our stay. Thanks Mountain Brook Lodge!

Perfect motel for exploring the Adirondacks or skiing at Whiteface.

Place was very nice & cozy, highly recommend for anyone going to ski at whiteface. 6 minute drive!

Quaint little motel 5 mins from Whiteface mountain. Very friendly and responsive staff. Room was clean, warm, quiet, and very affordable. Perfect place to stay while skiing or mountain biking in the area.

We stay in motels quite often and know not to expect too much. We are easily pleased. This motel, however, was such a disappointment, I just have to warn other potential guests. We booked for two adults and a child and there was supposed to be a queen bed and a twin futon. The futon was not a futon nor was it a twin. It had a hard metal bar in the middle and was incredibly uncomfortable. We asked for more blankets which we put on the futon but it remained too hard to sleep on. The bed wasn’t much better. I don’t know how old the mattress was but the middle was so so sunken in that my husband ended up sleeping on floor. We booked two nights and barely slept a wink. The place is under construction, so there is no dining room nor is there staff available to help. If that wasn’t bad enough, the mold in the shower was incredibly. And there was zero water pressure. It was probably for the best that due to a lack of light in the bathroom we had to shower in the dark. And it wasn’t cheap either, altogether we spent 300 dollars for two nights. If someone had been available when we checked out at 10 am, I would have demanded my money back. But the office was closed. To the new owners: this place needs much more than a few new curtains, Adirondack themed quilts, and fluffy towels. Start with new beds and new showers. I don’t know what the other rooms look like, but room 12 is unacceptable.

Benjamin, the owner, was great at communicating about the lodge. Upon booking my stay, I received an email about the lack of dinning facilities and the renovations at the lodge so I had plenty of time to prepare. When I arrived, Benjamin was incredibly helpful and welcoming. The lodge is located next to a post office and has restaurants walking distance in either direction. You're about 20 minutes from transition area for Ironman Lake Placid. The room was clean and had enough space for me to spread out to prepare for my race. Every time I saw Benjamin during my stay, he was always friendly and accommodating to my needs. Like offering a later check out the day after the race. During the day while they were working on renovations, they were very quiet and I barely noticed. At night, there wasn't any road noise and the only thing I would hear would be a neighbor in their room. The Mountain Brook Lodge was perfect for what I needed and if you're looking for a good spot for Ironman Lake Placid, I can't recommend this place enough!
