Location - on a very busy road and was noisy from 5.30am Service - staff were friendly and helpful, but there is no reception. Booking is done in the restaurant, but it doesn't open until 2pm (in our case it wasn't open when we arrived at 3pn, so we went away and came back later) Accommodation - dated, but acceptable. Carpet in hallways was very tatty. Eating - is situated above a pizza restaurant... but it's a vegan pizza restaurant, so offerings are limited. Breakfast was also vegan. Wi-fi - in room, was fine. TV in the room didn't work. Summary - 2 star at best. Ok for an overnight stay

Description of Hotel said bar and restaurant, The Bar only served non-alcoholic drinks from a fridge and the restaurant was the takeaway pizza business. I booked breakfast for a didicated time but in the morning. the person in charge did not know about it, or truth be told, hadn't looked for the booking form, so it would be another 1/2 an hour before it was ready. Beiing in the area for business, I could not delay. Rooms were okay but wifi would connect to a phone but not to a laptop, so I ended up running off my personal hotspot. In all honesty, probably better in in the local prison as at least there are communal areas there.

The venue was advertised with a bar and in house dining. The bar serves non-alcohol drinks only. All the food is plant based vegetarian/vegan options. There items should be mentioned in the their advertising. After s long drive I was looking to relax in the bar and have a couple of beers and snacks!! To flush the toilet in our room we were shown a trick to perform which of course didn’t always happen. Very disappointrd in my stay.

The room carpet was thread bear, no hot water in the bathroom, on arrival the electrics weren’t working, on the hotel page it says it has a bar but all the drinks are none alcoholic as they don’t have a license, it also says it has a restaurant but in reality it’s a pizza / burger takeaway. No remote for the tele, eventually found under the bed. No chair just a bed

I recently stayed at this hotel with my parents and, unfortunately, the experience did not meet our expectations. We were unable to secure two rooms in the same building, which was quite inconvenient for a family stay. The condition of the room was disappointing — it was not properly cleaned, and I found hair on the bed, requiring us to request a change the bedings again. Breakfast was also disappointing. The variety was very limited, the croissants seemed stale, and the bananas were unripe. Additionally, we were surprised to find that basic items such as toast and other breakfast foods came at an extra cost. Overall, I would not recommend this hotel for families looking to enjoy a comfortable and authentic Scottish accommodation experience.

There was no daily house keeping 4 days till asked if room needed cleaning walls dirty,drink stains on bed side cupboards,tooth paste on sink,and bandaid on floor when checked in. Breakfast area never vacuumed in 6 days and cereal on floor tables wiped down anything food stuck to table left there. If you want cheep no frills for 2 days it's ok asked for something to be done girls said have to ask my manager and slow wouldn't let you know

First of all you do not stay in the building showing-you dtay in an annexe. The door could not be locked from the outside, the decor is filthy and falling off the wall. the carpet is disgusting, the furniture is well past its sell by date. Toilet had not been flushed, bath panel is hanging off. Went for a meal, ordered and sat at a table only to be handed a takeaway which was very poor. My worst experience in many years of staying in 100s of hotels

I stayed at Hotel Lochway on May 31, 2025, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The hotel has two separate buildings. While some of my family stayed in the main building, my husband and I were placed on the ground floor of the adjacent building. Around 2:30 AM, I was woken up by voices and noises coming from our window — and to my shock, a man was actively trying to climb in after opening it. We attempted to call the police but couldn’t get through, so we contacted the front desk. They told us the man was “just another guest” trying to get into the building. This response was completely unacceptable. We spent the rest of the night awake, frightened, and feeling unsafe and exposed. If that wasn’t enough, the room was filthy — dirty sheets, stained towels, and absolutely no hygiene products, not even toilet paper. It was clear the room had not been properly cleaned or prepared for guests. We only stayed here because there were no vacancies within a 100-mile radius that night. But if I could offer one piece of advice: do not stay here under any circumstance. I would have gladly driven another hour rather than spend a night in such a distressing and unsanitary place.

It was ok stay. Communication was poor. We called hotel for direction and for check-in time - no one picked up the phone, luckily there was someone to let us in. There was no milk provided for tea, coffee in the room. They ran out breakfast items like beans, hashbrown, even though we requested vegetarian breakfast well in advance.

Very friendly staff (if a little run off their feet at breakfast), very helpful regarding public transport times & best station to park at! Comfy bed, The menu being vegetarian only, not a problem for me (I do eat meat, but the pizza was lovely), but should be advertised as vegetarian only breakfast! Room needs a little updating, Not really an issue at the price though. Overall a nice place to stay, close to main road, but quiet enough at night. Would recommend

We slept like rocks. The hotel staff were very accomodating and went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. Very nice breakfasts. Well communicated by train, bus and bicycle via the path running all the way to Glasgow and Bullock. Thank you ☺️

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, and I have to say the breakfast was incredibly disappointing. Each morning, we were served the exact same plate, and I mean the same plate—untouched food from the first day was still there on the second, and by the third day, I had to tell them to throw it out because it was likely stale. It was clear there was no effort put into the breakfast at all. The staff were unhelpful and clueless about anything related to the meals. If you’re expecting a decent breakfast, avoid this hotel. You’re better off staying somewhere without breakfast and eating out instead. Room was below average as the shower wasn’t working, it was fixed the second night. There was no soap or shower gel in the bathroom, after asking 2/3 times they put a liquid hand soap on the third day. Would not recommend staying here. Not worth it.
