Keswick Park Hotel

Great central location. Showers had very little power. Not what you want after a days hiking. Breakfast started at 8am whixh is a liitle late if you are on a hiking holiday and need to get to a start point early to park the car. Very limited parking at the hotel.

Lovely room. Jetted barh didnt work. 4 cars and the car park dull, luckily receptionist showed us where we coukd park. (Might be problem in summer). Included breakfast excellent.

Hotel is very nice and the staff excellent. Parking is a big problem. Their parking lot is very small and difficult to get into if other cars are parked in it. The streets are generally full. We had use a paid parking lot each night.

Hotel’s location was fantastic, rooms were clean and bad was comfy. The only complaint sill be, there was no hot water during our stay.

If you like to experience hospitality of the Lake District The Keswick Park Hotel and the town in general is for you! Clean rooms, great breakfast and restaurant for dinner, outdoor seating if weather is good, wonderful, friendly staff. Across the quiet street is beautiful Fitz Park with grass tennis courts, outdoor table tennis, colorful gardens and ice cream stand. Easy walking to several trail heads, center of town pubs, market, and lake. Bus accesses as well. A movie theater and playhouse are also there. View of the mountains from some of the rooms. We were there for 9 days and wanted to stay longer. Hope to return someday. We flew into Heathrow, next day took train from Euston Station to Carlyle and rented a car-but we didn’t really need to rent a car -if we got off at Penrith could have taken an uber or bus. Our only issue with the Hotel is that parking is a little tricky-there are only 5 spaces and we weren’t told of the nearby streets to park for free nearby -we looked at the towns website after paying for several days at a parking lot. So, if the staff could provide that info at check in it would be helpful.

Breakfast was lovely. Staff were also very pleasant. Parking is dire. 6 spots in total. We spent a lot on parking. Room was very clean but very dated with a very old TV. Shower had very low pressure too unfortunately.

Our stay was good, we had executive room comfy bed lovely bathroom, cleanliness good, lovely staff and excellent breakfasts, only downsides for us our room was on top floor and there's no lift, also very limited parking

Overall very good, our room was in a nice location but a little too hot with no airflow. It was also a small room for the cost with a small shower cubicle. Parking was difficult, it only has 4 or 5 parking spaces which are extremely tight to park in. We were lucky enough to get a space but otherwise it’s street parking. I don’t think it is clear enough when booking. Staff are super friendly and helpful and breakfast was very nice.

Nightmare. We had to carry our luggage up three flights of stairs. We are seniors and thankfully in good health because the manager did not ask or offer to help. There are only 3 people working there and check in is at 3 pm - not earlier. Even though all that is required is giving your name - nothing to sign. The parking is difficult to use unless you’re lucky to get the one space next to the street. Wi-Fi didn’t work up in our room. The manager keeps his head down and doesn’t seem to care.

Great location, lovely hotel and staff, great breakfast but very strange smell in our room which we did get used to and the hotel are aware of, seems to be coming from the wall paper. Didn’t distract from a lovely stay but really does need sorting out, apparently is only in the one room.

Room was spacious, bathroom could do with updating, breakfast very good although temp chef on second day and took a while. There was a half used soap left on shower tray. Location good but only a few parking spaces at hotel so needed to park in the street if possible or at the long stay car park.

Lovely welcome at check in. This is more of a guest house style than a modern ‘hotel’ and has decor/styling that reflects this, but all areas were very clean and tidy. The bedroom and bathroom were spotlessly clean and had good storage and tea/coffee facilities. Clean linen and nice towels. Lovely hot shower. Super view from the window over a couple of streets and beyond to the hills/mountains. All the staff we saw were friendly, attentive and hard working (but not rushing around and making things stressy). Breakfast was very well cooked, tasty, fresh and good quality ingredients. A few minutes walk to the centre of town and the park. We would definitely book here again for a future visit to Keswick.

Really enjoyed our brief stay. Many positives. The lovely lady on the front desk made us feel very welcome. The breakfast in the morning at no extra cost surpassed our expectations. The location and the cleanliness of the room. We would definitely stay again.

Stayed in February, using the hotel as a base. On arrival there were parking spaces, so tight only small cars have a chance of parking, which meant parking ten minutes away. On entry to the room (6), it seemed to have an olde world feel, did notice a damp smell, which we masked bu opening the windows and using 1/4 a bottle of perfume. It came back though. TV only received four channels, reducing to two then by 10pm there were none. Internet wasnt much better. On the positive side, the bed was probably the most comfortable we have ever slept in so we had a lovely quiet nights sleep. Could do with a refurb as just feels sad and dated.

There were a couple of small things that I would normally just let slide but given my experience at reception when raising a genuine issue I believe all problems are due to a lack of interest in the customer experience, rather than simply one off mistakes. Minor issues: The kettle was left with water in it from the previous occupant, the room was very dusty, the hotel was clearly understaffed (a sign said as much) and the bed linen had very prominent marks on it. Major issue: there was no hot water and very little cold water. After trying intermittently for half an hour I had to settle for using the kettle to warm water, so that I could wash in the sink. This on it\'s own was annoying, however I understand that things happen and boilers break. When I raised the issue when checking out I was told "we know but it wasn\'t too bad, as it was only off from 9 until 10.30"; the member of staff then went on to explain that the "hotel is at full occupancy and it only has a small tank". In short, the hotel know of the issue but rather than fix it, fill the hotel to a level of occupancy that means people will not be able to bathe; I would never book a hotel without warm water (and I don\'t think I\'m unreasonable in that) so for a hotel to knowingly sell me a room with that issue is downright insulting. If all issues are handled in this way I would strongly suggest others avoid the hotel.

Light and bright room with great views of Skiddaw. Immaculately clean. Staff were helpful without being intrusive. Breakfast was excellent.

Room spotless, bathroom spotless, breakfast lovely. Would recommend to family and friends!

Staff are great but the hotel itself needs some TLC, we stayed in an executive suite which had wallpaper coming off, a shower that was so weak it’s questionable if it was even a shower and a bath that dripped constantly. The mirror had a scum on it that made it unusable. “Mountain View” also comes with a view directly into other windows with no blinds or net it felt exposed. Could be amazing 5* hotel if a bit was spent to bring update the facilities.

Hotel was in a perfect location to get around Keswick. Staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Excellent breakfast and food in the evening was very good and reasonably priced. Would definitely return

Stayed for 1 night double room number 10, quite spacious nicely decorated with on suite shower room. Shower pressure ok. You could see the mountains from the bed. some traffic noise. Hot night but a fan was provided which was needed. Good breakfast selection melon selection & grapes. We opted for the full traditional poached eggs over cooked as were the sausages but the rest was ok. Didnt really interact with staff just at checkin told the basics & directed to our room.

The room (10) was clean, but basic & really in need of freshening up. Light & airy. Bed comfy. The shower pressure was good. A caddy would be handy in there for shampoo etc. The restaurant food & breakfast were tasty. Had to spend quite a bit of time sorting out the ariel on the TV. Quite a bit of traffic noise. Staff pleasant.

Staff are excellent - on reception and serving breakfast. Shower was powerful. Breakfast good apart from mushrooms and fruit not replenished once gone. Decor is a bit tired. The property is on what is probably the busiest street corner in Keswick. Buses sit at the lights outside revving their engines. Tractors and lorries trundle past. It was hot when we visited so windows needed to be left open. Having said that, the road went quite from 10pm to 7am.

We had three nights in executive room which was huge and had nice jacuzzi bath with rainfall shower over it. The bed was very comfortable. Yes, blinds were old but they worked! Bed linen was good quality and towels were nice and fluffy. Breakfast was excellent with fresh fruit, super yogurts, cereals, assorted teas and cooked breakfasts were an excellent. Dinner only served Wednesday to Saturday. We booked for 6.30 on our last night. We had a VERY long wait for our meal but our waitress (I think her name was Jane) really looked after us so very well, and when our steak and ale pie with chips and broccoli and fish and chips with mushy peas arrived, we were not disappointed. It was rather cold in the dining area-that was our only issue. The hotel is well situated to walk into Keswick and has a few free parking spaces on site. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 nights! Than you to all the staff.

This was our fourth time staying at Keswick Park Hotel and, yet again, it did not disappoint! Extremely quick painless check in and check out, brilliant room (no.4 with large bed, sofa, and spa bath) and excellent breakfast. Jean, who runs the breakfast service, is so friendly and really takes the time to get orders right and to get to know her guests (especially my husband’s strange egg order - HAHA!) We will return!

The staff were great and helped out one of our party who had injured her ankle while walking during the day and were on hand to provide refreshments once we arrived. Sadly the restaurant was not serving during our stay, however recommendations were given for nearby options which proved to be excellent.

Wonderful location, staff couldn't be more helpful if they tried. Wonderful English breakfast and dinner at the restaurant also Wonderful. Couldn't recommend this place higly enough.

This property was so central to the town which makes it the perfect place to stay.

Beautiful place in a great location

Very convenient location for the town centre and the trail along the old railway route. Great quality cooked breakfast.

Good location. 2 minute walk into the town centre. Fantastic views from our room onto Skiddaw. Top class Cumbrian breakfast.

Great character hotel to stay in the main area of Keswick. Only challenging thing challenging was parking as there is limited parking at the hotel. Good to arrive early and have a smaller car. We had an excellent stay!

Would have liked an evening meal the Monday arrived also none the Tuesday. Had to go out for meal Monday after journey.

Facility & staff 1st rate. Quiet room on top floor overlooked the mountains. Breakfast was excellent. We had dinner twice. Good menu, good service, good food. We would highly recommend.no elevator & no help with bags.
