I liked everything except the valet parking because the guys don't take care of the cars. They left the light on and my car ran out of battery. Plus, they hit the handbrake and moved the car like that and ruined my traction.

The resort is well established and well known. We always came to spend time and eat at the hotel’s restaurant. This year we needed to get away from our regular routine and stress. Upon arrival we found out that the entire lobby, lounge area and the restaurant is apparently closed for renovation. It’s a huge disappointment not to mention the noise coming from construction at 7 am. Rude awakening so to say… I just think that this kind of situation can’t be hidden from guests . Yes, there is still a small restaurant and a spa, but it’s not the same . The price should reflect all changes mentioned above. And the entire project should be disclosed before arrival.

Our experience was horrible our room had roaches . When I called to tell them I wasn’t staying in the room they gave us another room I asked to speak to management and they never showed face the front desk was very unprofessional . If you are handicapped or with special needs don’t stay here as the facility isn’t handicap friendly. Only area is the pool and that’s basically it the lift is full of bugs and webs . They have steps in all there designated areas . I was very disappointed and don’t recommend this place no management skills and they need to better train there employees when we asked security where a room was he said I don’t know it’s my first day how are you security and have no knowledge of the property this tells me someone didn’t train him. Very disappointing we had such high expectations of this place

nobody said it was under construction !!!! but expedia should have told me when i booked bec i would have NEVRT gone to gurneys the beautiful restaurant it’s known for was demolished along with the bar and coffee shop .. very disappointed ☹️

A/C was so incredibly loud we could not keep it on while in the room. Safe was out of battery and didn’t work. Bathroom door didn’t close. Room was not made up until we got back at 5 pm and called 3 times to request someone come replenish the shampoo and water and maybe make the bed. Other days was done around 4pm, sloppily. Food ordered often came without cutlery or cups or napkins. Sunday night there was a wedding in the oceanfront venue which was right above our room. Could not head ourselves tall until past 11; no notice about this. Tipped $20 to the man taking out our luggage for checkout to put it in the car: we started driving only to realize he just dumped it by the door, never actually loaded the car if we didn’t check it would have been left there

I was very disappointed. Not sure if it was because of the end of the season. We had a dirty robe that had makeup on it in the bathroom and a dirty towel that was folded back up and stuck in with the clean towels. Knew it was dirty by the sour smell compared to the other ones. It was extremely noisy and we weren’t warned about the noise that night. We know Montauk has a noise ordnance and this exceeded it. Very disappointing for the cost.

Beautiful resort, one of the best in the area. Not the first time staying here, but this time the description of the room was absolutely misleading. Room 601 that suppose to have “partial ocean view”, turned out to have no view whatsoever, being on ground level and surrounded by bushes. For almost $900 a night, very disappointing!

Gurney's is located directly on the beach in Montauk, NY. The setting is nice but the prices are high. Our one bedroom room had a nice view but the king bed was soft and saggy - very uncomfortable. The sofa bed was uncomfortable as well. The maid service was superior. The resort fees are high but the yoga was good. The restaurant, Scarpetta Beach, was very overpriced but the service was excellent. I would recommend the Short Rib & Bone Marrow Agnolotti but it costs $39 for pasta.

We booked a room with an ocean view. Was great but the AC in our room wasn’t properly functioning. We informed the front desk who indicated it would be promptly services. It wasn’t. We waited for three hours to have someone check it out. We called again. Technician came. Room was hovering around 79 degrees. We later asked to move rooms. We moved (ourselves no offer to help us move). Same issue. We called again (third time), then were moved to the “renovated” side with working AC but to a lesser room. It’s a great place overall but we were disappointed with the service in terms of hearing our gripe and not doing much about it. On a short weekend getaway it ate a lot of our short window to deal with this multiple times and with very little attention from the staff. Otherwise everything else was very good. Perhaps the resort should install modern hvac units in the unrenovated rooms.

No heat in my room. Absolutely one of the worst responses to a legitimate complaint of being in a cold room late at night with no where to go. Still haven’t heard back from Expedia or the resort. Paid a lot of money to be sitting and waiting in my coat for the resort to do something.

Rude disorganized staff. Check in process was absolutely hideous. They put us in three different rooms and couldn’t manage to figure out which room is the proper one. They told us the air conditioning and one is broken. They did not offer any discounts. The bartending staff at the outside fire pit facility is absolutely rude and unfriendly.

Although there were some initial hiccups, overall we had a pleasant stay. This was definitely due to Jennifer, the assistant front desk manager, who took our complaint seriously and did everything in her power to rectify it. The Staff are what make this place the breakfast staff amazing and the reception. I travel all over the world and it’s so refreshing to stay outside of the Marriot and Hilton groups. I enjoyed my 4 days there it was fantastic and relaxing well done keep up the work

Last minute trip from the city for a relaxing getaway. We know the location is perfect and it was, remote relaxed and easy. The best part was the Spa, recently renovated and it was truly nice. 90 min massage was perfect and gym was useful also, nice pool. The room was less than expected, maybe because we had a pet the room was less nice but at Ritz Carlton prices you expect more. Heat was not working, room was just adequate and towels were not good quality. Staff everywhere was very nice and responsive. Due to rain eating venue was limited to one and not able to accommodate all guests with little places to have a drink to wait. Maybe next time we come without our pet and see how it goes.

Eh, the greatest thing about Gurney’s is the location. After being a guest after 10 years, I’m not feeling it anymore. It’s a nice enough resort however, the food at Scarpetta’s is average. There’s no selection and the menu hasn’t changed in forever. The spa is way overpriced and I am a New Yorker. The rooms are beaten up, even though they had a recent renovation. Try it if you want to however, I’ll be finding a new resort to go to in Montauk.

This is probable the worst resort ever ! I booked online a room for 2 adults and 2 kids and they give me a room with 1 bed and 1 couch and they dont even provide you with blankets and on top of that they charge you 20% more of what you paid online. I get it its the hamptons but you do not get what you pay for and if you want to use the cabbanas at the beach they want $800 for it and you order drinks at the beach they charge you but you never get the drinks and on top of EVERYTHING the place is under construction there is huge noise dust the whole area smells like paint but what you gonna do. This was my second time here and my last. For the money that you gonna spend here for 2 days you can go to a 5 star resort anywhere in the world and get the best service for at least 10 days. So youre just paying for the name and get nothing in return. If you want to have the worst time of your life you should stay at this resort

The lobby and restaurant and bar area were beautiful. staff both at reception and at the spa were not very friendly, particularly at the Spa. Drinks are way too expensive and wish the outdoor furniture wasn't all wrapped up and was more inviting since it's so beautiful out there.

This resort was excellent. The staff was exceptional. Dining was exceptional. The beach was just beautiful. We enjoyed our getaway to the max, romantic, peaceful nature walk trails were especially beautiful. People were kind, smiling. It’s a place to relax and get away from it all whether it’s a girls spa day out or a couples getaway, it’s a place to be.
