Hotel was clean and come to beds were comfortable. The pool could have used a cleaning and the Jacuzzi was not working. There was no firewood for the outdoor fire pit you had to provide your own.

Overall had a great time and would recommend. Originally was put in a much smaller room than described/ pictured on hotels.com. Asked front desk, and thankfully they let us upgrade for only $12 a night. The upgraded room was much bigger and nicer. The pool was nice but unfortunately the hot tub was broken which was disappointing and one of the main reasons for picking this hotel. The girl at the front desk was super nice! Plenty of parking and awesome location minutes from the outlets and restaurants.

Could use a gym facility. There is lots of opportunity to job but if it's raining, there isn't much opportunity to exercise. Even a reduced rate pass to a local fitness facility, if there is one, would be helpful. The pool is too small to accommodate large numbers of people with children. The pool used to be fine but the motel expanded a few years back to include a house. On hot days, it's full.

Excellent location. Close to shopping and restaurants. Disliked the fact that we were not told at check in that the pool was not usable. The outside pool was the main reason we chose to stay here. Could of found cheaper accommodations put wanted an outdoor pool.

Typical hotel room. King bed (a little hard). Balcony....overlooking parking area and pool/playground. Pool was nice, but a little chilly. Clean. Hot tub was closed. Lots of parking. Easy acess to shops and local attractions. Near many restaurants. Minutes from downtown North Conway. This was our third visit.

I have been going to this property for over 10 years. This was absolutely the worst. On arrival, the receptionist said that they were waiting for a part for the pool so it was closed. Also, the pool hadn't been cleaned for a long time and the hot tub had NO WATER IN IT. It was a very hot weekend and they didn't give any kind of refund or money off the stay. I am not sure I would go back. It is unfortunate.

We stay at the Golden Gables Inn every year for a weekend to do our school shopping. We're from Maine and enjoy the quiet of this inn, the pool for the kids and how easy it is to get to the stores we like to go to. Some things could use an update, and there were no lights around the pool so we couldnt see even though the pool was still open. But its a safe area with lots to do. The Starbucks down the street is terribly slow and dirty. Definitely try Dunkin if youre looking for coffee!

Room for most part clean. Bathroom could have been more clean someone’s hair was on tub and in tub. Only other issue was in the hallway to second floor multiple large very large spiders above your head no bueno

This is our sixth time staying at the Golden Gables Inn and we were a little bit disappointed. The room and area was clean overall but our room had several house flies in it and smelled of cigarette smoke. We’ll likely return, hoping this was just a one-off.

We found the rug unvacuumed. There were no cups in the bathroom. They left only 1 roll of toilet paper and tissues in the room. The smoke detector was wrapped in a bag but it was late at night when we noticed. The next day, when we alerted the cleaning person they told us that is was probably some homeless people who used the room. We noticed a leak in the jacuzzi and the cleaning person stated that they noticed that for a long time and would inform the proper people.

Staff never cleaned the room, the outdoor balcony was filthy mold and dirt all over the little table and chairs with a plastic cup with cigarette butts in it and there is no smoking allowed. Towels were never brought up or extra cups for daily use. i asked twice to clean the room before they finally came and still didn't bring any cups. Pool coups have been cleaner.

This was an okay accommodation. It was not worth the high price we paid. It is a classical travel inn - park in front of the door that opens from the parking lot into the room. Since parked in front of the room, it is easy to unpack. Pros: nice staff; refrigerator in room: nice selection of towels; clean bathroom; Cons: we could not connect to the wifi at all; dated look; had to walk around the building to get to main office for coffee/tea; the door was difficult to unlock (with an actual key); we could hear toilet flushing in neighboring unit; front office closes at 9 pm

This was one of the worse stays I've ever booked thru hotels.com. The girl that checked us in was very nice. BUT the wifi didn't work the entire stay. Both my friend and I had work to do on our computers and couldn't. I chose the hotel because of the location and free wifi. When we spoke to the staff the night we arrived she said she would reset the Internet. That didn't work so she was to call the Internet provider. The heat in our room did not turn on. It was chilly out so we only wanted to warm the room up a bit but no heat We called the after hrs gentleman and he was clueless. Thought the AC would heat it up. The next morning, still no wifi. At checkout we told the gentleman at the desk. He made it seem that we were lying. Wanted to check the phone I'm a masters level clinician who uses my phone for work etc and know what I'm doing. I asked for a credit and he said if I refund you then hotels.com bills us. He offered a gift card to his hotel but why would we stay there again. Very disappointing Hoping I can be compensated some for this terrible experience Thank you

Fabulous place, price was on the cheaper side so wasn't expecting greatness...but it was great - big room, balcony with chairs, sofa, coffee table, fridge, microwave and 2 deliciously comfortable beds. Place is bogger than what it looks from the road. Will book here next time

This place was very quiet and quaint. It is well maintained and was very clean. The only semi-complaint is that the office closes at 9:00 in the evening and does not open back up until 9:00 the next morning. If you are checking in late or needing to check-out early it makes it very difficult to get and return your key. Otherwise very nice place to stay in the area

This was our second time staying here but I don't think we will be back after this most recent visit. There was a wet, dirty towel left hanging on the shower rod and around 9pm the room next to ours fire alarm started going off and staff was unreachable. Multiple rooms tried contacting the front desk and there was no response or anyone there when went down in person and th fire department had to come. It took over an hour before the alarm was disabled, which was extremely frustrating at that time of night, especially because we had our 2 year old trying to sleep.

Only a short stay for us. Limited interaction in person with staff, but pleasant. We were coming up from CT, for a wedding. I called ahead the day before asking for an early check-in. Spoke with Lexi the day before and day of check in and she was very helpful. Thank you to Lexi, office staff and cleaning crew for accommodating so that we could get to wedding on time.

Inaccurate check-in time! The check-in time is listed as 3pm. We arrived and needed access to the room in order to prepare for a wedding we were attending nearby. We were informed by the woman at the front desk that check-in was actually 4pm. She was incredibly rude and because of the error on the part of the inn and Expedia we were unable to access our room until 11pm after the wedding. Had we known the check-in time we would have stayed elsewhere. Other than the horrific customer service, the room was fine.

At check-in, we were told there would be coffee available at 6 AM, but there was none, and the front entrance was locked. The rooms were extremely basic (no coffee maker, no drinkable water, and only one roll of toilet paper provided for a two-night stay). For the price we paid, we expected at least a continental breakfast or a few more amenities. There was a whirlpool bathtub, which seemed like a nice touch, but about 20 minutes after using it, a loud built-in dryer system activated on its own, startling us and waking up our daughter with no way to turn it off. When we were checking out in the morning, the front door was again locked. There was no key drop box outside either. We left our keys in the room and left. If you’re just looking for a clean place to sleep and don’t care about any extras, this place is fine (but overpriced). If you’re expecting even the most basic hotel amenities, you’re better off staying elsewhere — and likely for a better price.

The location is perfect for access to either end of Conway. The room was especially clean. It would be nice to have a coffemaker in the room since it isn't available in the office until 8am. But that is not essential to wanting to stay there in the future.

I have never stayed at this property before. The room was so convenient to unload into with a large balcony overlooking the expansive property in the back. Great pool and grounds to get outside. There is a playground for kids and the Conway Train passes by a few times a day. The room is large clean and comfortable with ease to Settlers Green and restaurants. I will definitely stay here again.

Excellent reception at front desk, both arriving and departing. It looked like an old motel that has been kept alive with updates and additions. It was clean, comfortable, and had all the in-room amenities except for a coffee-maker. There was coffee at the front, but beginning at 8:00am. The washer and dryer were not functioning, but the ice maker was great! It was close to everything in North Conway, including a laundromat across the street! (Need to take quarters with you, as its change machine was non-funzione!) All in all, this is a terrific place to stay! Excellent value and all you need! (If you don’t need coffee before 8am!) Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts are both within a half-mile, as are all the Outlets! It’s a prime location!

The Golden Gables Inn appears to be an older Inn that has been renovated and the room which we were had what looked like all new furniture and the bathroom which was sort of small but again completely renovated. The price was competitive considering that it was peak summer travel period when we stayed. The only thing missing was a breakfast...
