The lodge shines like a brand me new penny! The accommodations are an unexpected traveler's pleasure. The clean freak, OCD host was fantastic! She gives "good window" (like when you get good customer service at the drive through), giving advice, directions how to avoid road closures due to the extreme snow pack this past winter, even offering to pick up to go food. It's California without the attitude, crowds and traffic! What a picturesque view, perfect weather, great hiking, minutes from Big Tree State Park, and great food and drink available nearby after a long day of driving. The firepit faces the forest, giving your soul a much needed quiet stress retreat. What a hidden clean gem!

Enjoyed a quick getaway and tried Meadowmont Lodge since they were Dog Friendly and close to restaurants. What a lovely surprise- such a nice Manager, clean and pretty property, very clean room and amazingly comfortable bed (and nice bedding). They had a nice firepit and we roadted smores - they had little kits. We will definitely stay there again.

I loved Meadowmont Lodge. I’ve been coming to Arnold for many years, but somehow missed this nice lodge. I like everything, hospitality, cleanliness, convenience. The room was very cozy, and had all I needed for the 2 night comfortable stay. Definitely, I will come back.

My criteria: clean, functional room, a bed I can sleep in comfortably. The first 2 criteria were fully met! The bed was an absolute failure; horrible support and tossed and turned all night. Had to actually place a pillow under my hips for support. Booked 2 nights. Bed was so bad I had to cancel night 2. The lodge still charged for night 2. I do not understand how that is reasonable/legal when the facility is not offering what I am paying for.

We arrived at 6:30pm and the office was already closed. Someone eventually answered the Ring doorbell and the check-in/payment transaction was done remotely with us speaking to the doorbell. What really made me uncomfortable was having to stand outside and recite my credit card number. Check-in felt impersonal and unsecure.

A place that has plenty of vacancy should not be so stringent about cancellation rules and check out times. Managers were very concerned about damages to the facility. They also could not be bothered after 8pm for questions or requests. This property charges a lot for the minimum they provide. On 1/3/2025, we got injured in the snow and needed a later checkout on 1/4/2025 to get ourselves together despite injuries. The property was empty, so this should not have been an issue. Natalie had zero empathy for our injuries and was very rude. We will not be returning and will tell everyone we know going to Arnold to avoid this property.

I can’t really rate the staff because the front desk was closed when we arrived. The front desk person was sick and we didn’t have interaction with her. This property was very clean and neat. It’s close to Big Trees and there are several restaurants in the area. I would recommend this property .

This property is very close to Calaveras Big Trees State Park and that is why we stayed here. It was very clean, and the woman checking us in was friendly. We stayed two nights. We ate across the street at a brewery the first night and at an Italian restaurant the second night. The Italian restaurant, Sarafina's, was excellent.

This place is so CUTE and COZY!! A true little gem!!! It is so peaceful! 2 minute drive to Calaveras State park (Big tree park). Sleepy little town, yummy pizza just down the road. Gas station nearby. Not touristy, just a quiet place to get away. And the park is BEAUTIFUL!!!!

I can’t really rate the staff because the front desk was closed when we arrived. The front desk person was sick and we didn’t have interaction with her. This property was very clean and neat. It’s close to Big Trees and there are several restaurants in the area. I would recommend this property .
