Travellers choose Lamphouse By Basecamp for its central downtown Canmore location, walkability, and mountain views, while renovated rooms with comfy beds deliver solid basics, but recurring noise from thin walls and HVAC/plumbing can disrupt light sleepers.

It was too hot, the air conditioning did very little to lower the temperature. Fire alarm detector kept turning on every 1-2 through our last night requiring me to get up and reset it.

Knew it was basic for amenities, but this is a motel, not a hotel as represented in the description. Very sparse amenities, and desk only available from 2:30-10:30 pm during our stay. While it worked fine for us, there is no noise blocking AT ALL. If you have trouble sleeping or it’s busy season and you need a quiet place, I’d skip this one. No elevators, so if you have any issues with stairs request the first floor. It was fine, but don’t think I’d use a Base Camp property in the future if I can avoid it. Reviews made it sound nicer than what it is. It was pretty clean and the bed wasn’t too bad, so that was a plus.
