Capital Hotel Long Island City

Hotel was fine. Not the nicest area, but staff were very helpful. There are vending machines and tables to eat at downstairs.

Room was super clean, every staff member we interacted with was very friendly. It's a close walk to two different subway stations( Queensborough or the 21st/Queensbridge). So you can get anywhere in the city quickly. Both have restaurants near them. They allowed us to drop bags early as we flew in early in the day before check-in, our flight out wasn't until evening, but they offered to hold out luggage while we went sightseeing after we checked out as well. Only slightly negative item is that the beds are super high. We'd stay again.

The property itself did not feel unsafe, however, the area around the hotel for walking purposes coming home from Manhattan later at night was a questionable walk back to the property. I did not like that there was not an additional lock to our room outside of that on the door handle.There was a Dunkin Donuts about 5-10mn walk from the property, and a few other fast food spots a lil further but nothing that we noticed being open earlier aside from Dunkin Donuts, or late as everthing was closed upon our return. The property had minimal amenities (small fridge) no microwave coffee pot, given this it would be a nice small amenity if there was the addition of even a vending machine for a guest who needed a drink of water. While i can not say I would never stay here again, it wouldn't be my first choice. I was surprised after driving in that the desk staff didn't have any idea where the nearest garage would be to park our car for the weekend. This again, is juat something that for tourists would be nice information to provide. Thankful the price made this value ok for the money that was spent,If i did ever stay here again I would be sire to better prepare and pack things like water for drinking overnight

Property is a sketchy neighborhood, I had to park my car more then 2 blocks away

This is a very minimalist place. There is a small desk with chair, a cube fridge,a wall-mounted TV, a single nightstand, a small (24") or so hanging bar, and a single small trash can in the bathroom. There is no dresser, and not even a stand for a suitcase to be unpacked from. The bed is fine but very weirdly high off the ground (on a tall hollow base). Also, there is no shelf of hook of any sort in the shower stall. Nowhere to put your soap or shampoo or to hang a washcloth. The room appeared to be VERY recently renovated and was very clean, and housekeeping kept it that way through out our 5 day stay. The desk staff was friendly and was very accommodating as to an early check in when we called that morning (and did not charge us the early check in fee) The location is what you would expect for a spot w block from the river in what is still a transitional residential/industrial part of queens. Street parking exists but would be a challenge. It is an easy three or four blocks from the F train station and two stops into Manhattan.

El hotel se ve que está nuevo pero la limpieza brilla por su ausencia. No había cucarachas pero estaba muy sucio, pedimos que lo limpiaran y no se notaba. Solo funcionaba un ascensor de los 2. Las toallas de ducha muy pequeñas, los productos de aseo muy escasos. La zona no es muy buena pero no tuvimos ningún problema. Mejor de día que de noche. La cama era grande y cómoda. Había nevera,una mesa, una silla y tv. En el sotano había una habitación muy grande con mesas y sillas,2 microondas y máquinas con algo de agua y unas patatas apagadas. Más limpieza y mejor gestión y estaría muy bien. El metro estaba a 5 minutos.

The price of the accommodations was among the cheapest in the Manhattan/Queens area. The area between the metro stop and the hotel appears to be a bit scary with quite a few homeless people, but we were never bothered. The beds were very comfortable with quality linens and pillows. The room is sparsely furnished with only one nightstand and one table and chair. There is a refrigerator; a microwave is available on floor C, which is in the basement. The shower has plenty of hot water.

I usually don’t do reviews, however I feel this will be beneficial to future customers who visit this hotel. Despite all the issues, they accommodated every step of the way with anything with had issues with. The first room was missing the latch at the top, the room started off really cold and warmed up within 30 minutes, a the charger under the lamp was missing. For that reason, we were moved into another room which had no issues at all and was very comfortable. Hard to find parking, but the area is cool. We stayed on the 2nd floor, (it’s 8 floors) and it was noise in the hallway here and there but nothing too disruptive. Nice Roku tv, very comfortable bed with soft sheets, and the bathroom was very spacious, clean, and cute. Would stay again!

La habitación tenía unos bichos que por más información que se le dio a la recamarera, no hubo solución, la limpieza del cuarto fue ineficiente ya que al parecer no barrían, solo tendían la cama y cambiaban las toallas, en los alrededores había muchas personas como homeless que todo el tiempo fumaban mariguana, no es un barrio seguro

Great value for a quick stay in NYC. The hotel is simple and nice. Clean room, good bathroom, everything you need if you’re travelling low key. Nothing fancy, but also nice and pleasant overall. The neighborhood may seem a bit sketchy if you’ve never been to New York, but it’s honestly fine. Mostly industrial and nothing special around, but also very conveniently located, taking transit to Manhattan only takes about 4 stops and 15 minutes. Would definitely come back again.

Super loud outside, paper thin walls and windows. Ice machine was broken, as was the elevator. No amenities whatsoever. And there were roaches.. Yep. I had to unpack one of my bags just to make sure I wasn't taking any bugs home with me. Everything also so dirty, the walls the floor on my room, yhe toilet and my towels had stains. No wonder it was so cheap. Lol Staff was very nice though, and it was only 30 min by train/bus to LGA Airport.

A fuir ! N’allez surtout pas dans cet hôtel. Il grouille de cafards et autres rampants infâmes. Nous en avons trouvé dans toute la chambre, tous les soirs où nous rentions. Il y en avait même dans le joins du frigo et un qui s’était mis dans la valise. Les femmes de ménage ne font pas le ménage. Elles changent juste les serviettes et vident la poubelle, les draps ne sont pas changés, les sols pas nettoyés. Nous le déconseillons fortement. Autre chose qui nous a dérangé, il a nous a été demandé une caution de 100 dollars, chose qui n’est inscrit nul part sur le site de réservation, est-ce légal ? En bref fuyez !

Stayed 5 nights, and the room was actually cleaned like 2 times. Other days, they just made the bed, but no actual cleaning. Cockroaches were found in the bathroom. No courtesy water either. Appreciate the mini fridge in the room.

Clean room, room service everday

The hotel does not match up to the reviews before. The room was dirty and full of other people’s hair and marks on the floors and windows. There was not security lock on the door and you could hear everyone in the hallway at all hours of the night at the extremely loud ice machine. The location is also awful!! There is nothing to do except a few fast food places near the station but it wasn’t somewhere I would recommend going. It was so bad, we left 3 days early and moved to another hotel. I emailed the hotel to ask for a refund on the days we didn’t stay but the emails bounced back and then when it was forwarded to the manager (Michael) I’ve had no reply! Avoid at all costs!!!

You could also hear that there was plastic on the mattress under the bedding but it didn’t cause a problem like excess warmth so that was fine. The room is small with no walking room between the bed and desk if the chair is pulled out. The surrounding area is mostly industrial and “blue collar” with several car repair and parts shops and possibly warehouses and just your average apartment buildings with two to four units. There was a lot of litter everywhere. None of the above was much concern. What bothered me most was there was very limited restaurants in the area within walking distance. We looked at Google Maps and chose one but it didn’t exist anymore and some other business was there. We ended up Door Dashing. The Uber from JFK to this property was $75 at about 6p. Overall the lower price was worth it for me.

Rooms were super small. A room with a king bed should have way more walking space in it.

Room needs an iron, safe, soundproof walls, heard someone either having sex or being murdered, couldn't tell the difference.

Preis Leistung ok. Zimmer war sauber, Personal freundlich. Bügeleisen und Kühlschrank vorhanden. Kein Schrank, dafür eine kleine Garderobe. Leider ist es sehr laut im Zimmer, da weder die Türen noch die Fenster isoliert sind.

Please remove the plastic that covers the mattress. It is too hot.

Nice stay when on a budget, but the walls are thin, cold water in the bathroom 🚿, and my door's battery needed replacing so the front desk had to open my door every time I wanted to get in my room because the key fob wasn't working.

I need to mention that during my second night staying there, I had a horrible experience. In the middle of the night there were people probably having a party late at night making very loud noise, talking really loud, a taming and banging the walls. Due to this I was not able to sleep. Early in the morning when I checked out I reported this to the receptionist. His answer was asking if I new what appartment this loud were coming from. He even said that he did not heard anything, therefore he did not show any concern about it. Staying in a place where you can’t rest due to disruption that other people create is the worst experience anyone can go through. I am very disappointed I had to go through this. Walking up several times late at night in a hotel is the last thing people want ti experience

I recently stayed at the Capital Hotel and unfortunately, my experience was not up to my expectations. One of the most concerning issues I encountered was a serious breach of security. Someone else had the same key as me and entered my room while I was sleeping, which made me feel extremely unsafe and uncomfortable. I hope the hotel takes immediate action to investigate this incident and enhance their key management system to prevent such incidents in the future. I would appreciate it if the hotel could also review their overall service standards to ensure guests have a safe and pleasant stay.

Clean and very helpful staff

We chose this hotel for our anniversary after being promised a "special room" and "preferential treatment" via Hotels.com. It was a complete lie. We were tucked away in a ground-floor room facing a concrete wall. The noise level was unacceptable. The room was adjacent to both the reception and the staff area. Employees shouted and talked loudly during the whole night. Even worse, they began vacuuming at 5:00 AM. When I went out in my pajamas to complain, the staff member simply told me that if they didn’t do it then, their boss would scold them. They clearly prioritize their internal schedule over the basic right of a guest to sleep. The service at the front desk was equally terrible. Every time we approached, the staff was distracted by their cell phones. They acted as if our presence was an annoyance and as if we were bothering them by asking for help. There is zero focus on guest experience here. Between the 5:00 AM vacuuming and the indifferent, phone-obsessed staff, this was the worst stay we’ve ever had. Avoid this place if you want to be treated with respect.

Both male staff at Reception were extremely helpful and friendly, lwith one Reception member of staff very welcoming towards us on our return each night). Indeed, on checking in, when he noticed that we were a lengthy stay he sourced a high storey room for us. The housekeeping ladies too were a delight, and whilst we rarely saw them they ensured that clean towels, soap &c were always well stocked for our return home each night. Thank You ladies and gentlemen ! They are a credit to your company. We hope to return again.l

I accidentally booked the wrong date. I repeatedly called the property to update the dates accordingly, but no one ever answered the phone. I reached out to Expedia. They too tried to reach the property, but never received an answer. This is TERRIBLE customer service! How can you charge me for a hotel that I did not stay in!?!? I will NEVER book with this property again!

This has been a great experience at Capital Hotel. Although my stay was short, this place was welcoming from the start. Michael was the one who greeted me at the front desk and he was thoughtful and kind. I had asked for an early check in and he was kind enough to get me in quick. The room was clean and put together and made everything easy access in the area. Would definitely stay here again. Thank you to the staff who greeted me and bid me farewell!

Hotel was clean and comfortable but no shops or reatairants neaby that I would ever feel safe entering. Neighborhood unsafe. The walk to train station was through the dilapidated housong projects with people living on streets, smoking weed and garbage everywhere. We had to Iber from train because it was too risky walking.

Super close to subway stop!! Cute mini mart around the corner, decent area! We are thinking about booking again next year!!

Great hotel to stay on a budget. Accessible subway lines to manhattan and queens. A sketchy area and neighborhood especially at night though

The hotel has everything you need for a short stay, all of the necessities and nothing extra. The location is nice, about a 10 minute or less walk to the subway stop. The area around the hotel itself is a bit sketchy, a lot of weird people, smoking and hanging out at night, but there’s police presence in the area, and there’s a lot of other hotels area, so we only felt uncomfortable at times, but never felt in danger. So overall everything that is up to the hotel is fine and worthy of a 5 star review.

Pretty good location, close to the F train. A/C and heat worked and showers had hot water. Felt very safe. Staff was young and cool. No complaints

Serviceable, basic hotel. Staff were great. Not much going on in the area, just fast food. Subway is about 4 blocks away.

L'accueil étaient bon, l'accès à la chambre facile. Il faudrait juste que la salle de bain puisse se fermer de l'intérieur et surtout offrir aux clients une offre petit déjeuner complète, car il n'y avait pas de café, juste une machine au sous sol offrant un cappuccino ou un lait vanille. C'est très important, car sortir pour chercher un restaurant, cela est désagréable surtout quon est pressé par le temps pour pouvoir visiter la ville avec sérénité donc je n'ai pas mis 5 étoiles par rapport à ça. Juste un café avec des pancakes et des viennoiserie en totale accès dans l'hôtel serait un plus non négligeable!!!!

No gym. Found a small roach in my room and they didnt even serve breakfast lol.
