Hampton Inn & Suites Columbia/Southeast-Ft. Jackson

Great, as always, Hampton Inn. Our room was huge. Very quiet and comfortable. Well stocked workout facilities and indoor pool. Highly recommend if you are in the Columbia, SC area.

Staff was professional. Felt like a home away from home. Would definitely come back. Kids loved the heated indoor pool.

One elevator was working There is a parking fee. That’s not mentioned in their website.

Before arrival night shift never would answer then phone. Upon arrival, the lady behind the desk didn’t have any answers to some concerns bc she said she had been off work and just came back. The canteen area was practically empty of drinks. They had to walk to the back room down the hall to give us warm drinks. She said she would refill the cooler that night but it was next day. Then barely put anything in there. No coffee on arrival. Things were empty unless u wanted just hot water for only tea. Nothing else. That lemon water was disgustingly that I spit it out. Anyone at the counter literally stayed on their personal phones all night long. One girl was babysitting. Another girl had her kid there riding all over the lobby in an office chair. Either stop or get ran over. The mother didn’t care. The ac in our room made such loud noise. I got no sleep. The door in and out of the room has a huge gap at the bottom so anyone could stick a cell phone under the door and see what was happening behind the door. Extremely dangerous. Elevators sounded and felt as if they wouldn’t make it up or down. Outside windows were nasty. I booked this hotel bc of ratings that must be fake and bc it had an indoor pool. Pool was useless. It was so cloudy u couldn’t see the bottom. Breakfast the next morning was terrible. Only one person to cook all the food. How does one mess up cooking grits? Ruined my appetite for the rest of the day. Asked for a late checkout for 1pm, out around noon after staff

Hotel is under renovation but we were given a room on the renovated 6th floor.

Everything it’s just hot in the pool area

The hotel itself was clean and in good condition. However, we reserved a suite with 2 queen beds and a sleeper sofa since there were 5 of us. We were given a room with 2 beds and no sleeper sofa. They did bring us an extremely uncomfortable rollaway for the 5th person. Sleeping on the floor likely would have been more comfortable though. It also states when booking that there is free parking, but I was charged $6 for parking after check-out.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. There are many restaurants nearby and it is in a convenient location. We were disappointed that the pool was closed though

Check in process was easy and fairly quick. There’s a lot of places to eat in the area which is nice. The pool area is heated and the fire pit outside is nice (although it kept turning off and back on). We got a double Queen suite and the room is giant! Perfect for our kids to have some space to move around. Everything seemed clean. We’re definitely satisfied. Looking forward to trying breakfast in the morning!

The person checking me in was incredibly nice and helpful. The pool was quite cold and I didn’t realize there was no hot tub. Everything else was very nice and enjoyable

The staff at the front, checking in was wonderful, some of the staff in the hallways we’re not as friendly. The room could have used a little more cleaning, there was a definite odor, and the bathrooms had some residue on the floor and walls.

The room was clean upon arrival, was never clean throughout our three day stay, we have to pick up our own towels from the lobby each day.

Place is in need of some major cleaning and repairs. The reception took forever to check us in... almost 30mons. The suite view was of a wall! It looked directly at the carport overhang roof structure... very disappointing. Lastly the place was filthy and beaten up. Thankfully our stay was only one night. The only good thing about this place was the breakfast.

Beds were comfy and clean. Bathroom had a fecal smell in it and the towels felt like sand paper! Window shade also did not work. Luckily we only stayed for one night. Would of asked for a different room if stay was longer.

Door to room was open when we got there, only to find out it was because it couldn’t be closed if you didn’t first lift the entire door up and slam it shut. We had to do that every time we opened and closed the door. Toilet leaked and ran, all night long. Shower was dirty.

Very disappointing. My room was very poorly cleaned. There were urine stains on the toilet, there was hair left in the shower and soap scum, in the trays. There was barely any toilet paper, hand soap, or shower gel available in the restroom. There was a huge stain on my sheets. Staff also walked in abruptly without knocking twice. If you want no privacy and a dirty hotel room, this is the place to be.

Not the best neighborhood. Lobby was dirty with cigarette butts in floor. Mold and pubic hair in the “freshly cleaned” shower. Horrible pillows. Air conditioner sounds like a rocket ship trying to take off. Room need upgrades.

The property was well maintenance and everything was clean.The rooms were clean and there wasn't any noise. I will choose hampton inn on my vacation again.

Floors were dirty and room smelled foul

The hotel was very nice. The desk staff was helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. My only complaint was the noise. We were across the hall from the laundry/kitchen. It was very noisy in the morning while they were getting things ready for the continental breakfast. Next time I would request a room at the end of the hall.

Room was clean and hotel was clean. The staff was nice. Room never got above 68 degrees and furnace blower was load. Pillows were the flat and even two made about 1/4 of a good pillow. Toilet paper holder was not in the bathroom expect four screw holes in wall where it once was. View out the window was 1-77 that was real close to building. Got about 4 hours sleep out of 10 hour try, again room was cold.

Water pressure in the shower was horrible. My room faced the highway as as such was very loud at night.

The staff members were all wonderful. The only complaint we had was the room door had been damaged and repaired but it was very hard to open and close. The receptionist put in a work order when we told her at check out. She was very helpful.

We had a great stay. Our door was broken and was hard to open and close. Front desk staff was polite and friendly and let us know door part was in order when we checked in.

Lots of road noise, and the bed was quite firm—more than I can find comfortable. So not my best night’s stay.

Pet friendly. Ms Kendra, at the front desk, is very sweet and accommodated our needs quite well. Much appreciated!

We got here and the front desk people were swamped with the 4 people trying to check in. When it was finally our turn they said they were unable to find our reservation. They were eventually able to find the reservation and said we canceled it which we did not. I found an email that was sent at 12:55 pm we tried to check in at 5:15 pm stating the hotel could not accommodate our reservation that was booked 5 months in advance. We attempted to get a room and were told they had 1 room available. After swiping my card and being charged we were told the room I just reserved had just been sold on Expedia. My wife has a hearing disability and was talking to me (she talks loud cause she cannot hear well) the woman at the desk proceeded to tell her she would not tolerate her “yelling” my wife attempted to tell her she has a hearing disability and the woman did not care and was insanely rude.

What i thought was the best part was the amazing staff and their help to make sure everything we needed was met. The hotel is definitely a great place to stay for anyone visitng Columbia. We flew down to see our sister graduate from Fort Jackson and were very happy woth our choice of hotel. I would recommend this particular hotel to anyone. Definitely coming back in the future. Very disappointing. Arrived and was told my double queen room wasn’t available and that hotels.com sold me a room that wasn’t available. After I asked to cancel the reservation the attendant told me to “call them”. I asked for a king room with sofa bed to accommodate my needs of 4 people. I was given a room that air conditioning unit didn’t work. Called the front desk and had to insist maintenance come to fix as I was told to just wait, the unit is motion activated. The shower was visibly dirty and had hair on the shower walls and quite a bit of rust spots. I’ve never experienced such disgust with anything attached to the Hilton brand. Will never stay again.

Great stop on our trip. Stephanie at the desk was amazing. So polite, welcoming and nice. Room was clean and the bed was very comfortable!

Very convenient to Fort Jackson. Safe location! Room was really nice; bathroom was well appointed and clean. BUT fridge door did not seal shut and that caused: 1) the rug surrounding fridge was wet and 2) the fridge did not keep anything very cold. This was not the biggest deal but we were there during a major heatwave. We did tell front desk but they came up on the last day of our stay to swap it out, which did not help us.

The staff was very friendly and it’s an easy drive to Congaree Ntl. Park, the zoo and downtown.

Perfect. Only 7 minutes to Fort Jackson entrance. Flight delayed. Arrival after midnight with no problems checking in with fast friendly person. Room was clean and comfy. I will stay here again if I need to come back.

Breakfast lacked yogurts and muffins. Service ended at 9:00 but by 8:30, the eggs and sausages were gone and we not being refilled by the attendant. She merely said “they ran out”. We pay top dollar to stay at Hampton because of their hot breakfasts.

Great hotel. Breakfast was well done. The ladies serving breakfast were delightful. Super helpful and friendly!

Great breakfast, very clean, helpful staff

The receptionist was always available to assist with any questions or needs we may have had with a smile. The breakfast host was phenomenal! I am rating our stay at this property a five ⭐️
